Need to keep your water consumption up Alex. Probably 2 days max for the water in your bottle. Also you probably need 2 litres a day to keep hydrated. Thanks for posting again Alex. Regards Simon.
Nice one for takin your van to a garage and getting it plugged in Alex. Nothing to worry about mate. If it gets any colder for you just make sure you turn the van ignition on and let the glow plugs warm up before you start it so it starts better when the engine is cold. Enjoy the rest of your trip
So I'm a mechanic and although glow plugs can last a while after throwing a code, they are very much a problem if they fail. It's not necessarily so much that the engine will take a while to start as it is the engine will not start. If that engine does not heat the fuel upon startup, it will not start. Glow plugs are very cheap items though they can be very labor intensive to replace with some vehicles. Definitely worth getting it taken care of if you can
If it's only 1 glow plug it should be fine to start for a while with just 3 others. And they aren't that bad to do on his 2.0tdi common rail engine (if it doesn't snap) 😄.
I am thoroughly enjoying your videos and living vicariously through you and appreciate your attitude and overall view on exploring and living in the moment. 🍻! CHEERS @JustAlex !
Living one of my dreams right here....I recently purchased some land and am homesteading on it but I would absolutely love to build a mini-camper and just travel everywhere to see as much as I can. Maybe someday. It's nice to be able to do it through your eyes. Thanks Alex.
Your adventures & new experiences are great and the people you meet are so friendly & helpful. They seem to be the type you would want to keep in touch with long after your journey (or again in future journies). Try putting a teatowel or wet cloth under your chopping board to stop it from sliding about while you're chopping & cutting.
I really appreciate you taking us on this journey with you, and in a way I wish I was on this journey with ya. I love the open road and the van, thanks for your content! You need more water though and absolutely should be refreshing your water daily. Also that is NOT enough water consumption if you don't have to refill that everyday.
Hey Alex! My name’s João Fonseca. I'm a huge fan of your videos and lifestyle, directly from Brazil! I just want to let you know that you're my biggest inspiration at the moment when it comes to getting out of my comfort zone and enjoying what life can offer you the best. My happiest part of the week is when I receive the notification of a new video on your channel hahaha! Keep doing what you have been doing mate! I'm quite sure you're inspiring people to truly live their lives as you have been doing with me! Wish you all the best experiences, dishes, landscapes and the best things this world can provide you!
Hi Alex, absolutely loving this adventure so far, from your first night in the polo to where we are now. Just a little tip though, if you just slightly dampen a piece of that kitchen roll and put it under your chopping board, it will stop it moving about so much when your chopping, might save you a nasty little injury. Food looks spot on aswell mate, keep it going👌👨🍳
Great to see your travel adventures Alex plus how you are embracing the diverse culinary delights nature has to offer! Best of luck with the rest of your journey…….
Hi Alex! Just a tip I’ve thought of after seeing you spill the melted butter on your cooking work surface, why not replace the lid with a Formica covered one, that way the grease won’t soak into the wood making it look a mess, it’ll wipe off easily!
Definitely a favorite new channel that I have followed so far. Keep up with the good content. Can see you hitting a million subs by end of this year easily.
Another excellent video with amazing people, Phillip has wonderful food store right outside his door. Such a great message and lessons you are sharing Alex, People ALL OVER THE WORLD are decent, kind, generous and welcoming. It is such an incredible life you are sharing ❣️❤️🇺🇸 Keep going
Just so you know, stagnant water can lead to legionnaires disease. Even old water in your windscreen washer well has been known to cause legionaries. I'd try to avoid month old water. I would hate to see something happen to you. Also your channel is awesome. Brought me many a sporadic and spontaneous thought hahaha
Alex, a note about Europe's petrol stations on the highway: The diesel and petrol are pretty much 1.5x times cheaper of the highway, since you drive a caddy I suppose you put in around 60l of diesel, that would make the price 2e/l. Of the highway on country roads the diesel should be a lot cheaper (in Slovenia its around 30-40c cheaper per liter). If you read this comment, this could be a good money saver :) Love the content, keep it up!
What a great recipe for food under such limited conditions:-) Enjoy the Netherlands, that is one of the greatest place on Earth. Look forward to the next video
For your bacterial contamination: always wash your bottle extensively, particularly the lid (boiling water, simple to do) Pour new fresh water every day (one month is unbelievably not sane !!) And some more advice: while traveling, be careful to keep everything in fresh conditions, no mushrooms rotting, no meat or dairy outside of the fridge, and keep cleanliness up to date (using bleach products should be sufficient) You are young and in good health and your immune system might be fighting pretty well, but beware, just taking some preventive caution :) (words of a doctor, reach out if you need)
@@brain8484 Huge cultural difference between the US and Europe in term of fear of contaminations. Being too sterilizing is not necessary the long term best though. Finding a good balance is the key
Hi Alex order yourself a carista about £26 plugs into the obd port same as the mechanics laptop and can read fault codes diagnose on line and turn off lights and also turn on all manner of functions you didn't know you had like hold the unlock button on key fob to wind windows down whilst you are in bed etc, works mainly on VW. tiny little thing comes with 3 months full app access i think. ed
Super content as always!Glow plugs are not a real issue if it's not cold, even if, just have a bit of patience between turning the ignition and turning the engine on so they can warm up enough...I wouldn't worry about it too much, it happens at diesels
You can get glow plug error if the car battery gets a bit low if you clear the code & charge it or go on a long drive if it doesn't come back then it was battery
PS: good recipe: prepare pasta, sauté your mushrooms in the pan with oil, garlic and parsley, salt/pepper, then add cream and pour this creamy mushroom prep on your pasta, that you can have for several portions. It will change you from your pasta/tomato sauce...:)
cooking tip: when cooking a duck/goose breast put it in the pan when its cold and heat it up with the pan(it renders the fat better) also don't use any oil because the the fat rendering will melt and cook it in its own fat. I suggest cooking it for 7min on the skin then 4 min on the other side for med-rare
Hi Alex about the water yes that can be one of them.. and yes the mushrooms never keep them after 3 to 4 days because they will go off .. please you can get water bottles in asda 12 of them for £2..00 and 24 bottles of water for £3.00 s.omethi g like that anyway but it best to be safe than sorry... also you can get little containers put your open cheese in.. maybe mum may have a few you can have..?? Good luck with everything you do and go... can't wait to see more videos please.. take care always.
Little advice on the chopping board as I noticed it moving while you was cutting up your Apples. Use a wet cloth or even damp kitchen towel under your board and it will stop it sliding around so much! Amazing video btw keep up the good content as i love watching your videos
Hey Alex, Few months ago I gave advice on the Wagyu & some other cooking advice (I don't remember which video!) because I do a lot of culinary stuff. More than happy to give my creative opinion as I love doing "Only from the cupboard" tests and making something simple but very gourmet! You definitely had the right idea with an apple & goose, fruit (citrus specifically, but can work with almost anything) and dark meats like duck/goose work super well. If you ever get the chance again, try poaching the apple in the wine and then braising the duck in the sauce one you've seared it, and then puree the sauce for the duck to sit on! Otherwise, I'm very jealous of your adventures! Keep going :)
@@EdithWeston Yes. This means the fat heats up at the same pace as the pan causing a slow render which increases flavour and prevents the meat from contracting too much which causes it to be much less tender. You don't want to shock fat rich meats with heat, rather slowly render their fats down to enable the leaner parts of the meat to cook in its own fat, keeping the meat tender and rich.
Hey Alex! Great video, its so cool seeing all the cool things you have done over the past month or so. Your cooking has come a long way and that goose looked brilliant mate!
Great video Alex 👍 I'm no expert, but I'd get that Glow Plug replaced as soon as possible, if you haven't already. When is your cook book coming out 😂 Hope you're well. Stay safe.
The problem with your water bottle is your bacteria from your mouth is fermenting on the rim. You should actually always pour the contents from a bottle into a clean cup/vessel. If no option, disinfect your bottle daily.
Alex I’ve learned from tv show that you should not be drinking water that is half consumed after more than a 24 hrs. Bad Bacteria 🦠 has already grown in the container. Another cause of headache maybe consuming too much salt from pringles that you. Healthy choices of food is always good for you especially if you’re traveling a lot. Stay healthy and safe always ❤
Good video as usual mate , pinkfoot goose is my favourite, tastes better than Canada or greylag, great to see someone enjoying wild meat , hopefully it will encourage other people to try it, sustainable and healthy food , I personally eat loads of wild meat , it’s pretty much free when you shoot it yourself, keep up the good content 👍👍🤠
Don’t be joking about mushrooms, Alex! You don’t just accidentally eat a poisonous mushroom.😊. Gotta be 100% certain and careful with that one. How about ticks in your area? Here, ticks can carry and transmit Lyme disease. Your symptoms sound like that of Lyme infection. You will usually find the tick on you, and if there’s a red bullseye pattern, you definitely should be concerned and get tested for Lyme. Anyway, be careful out there! Hope you feel better!
i can already tell this channel is going to get sooo big one time and it really makes me happy already
Glad it makes you happy!
