Hey man, just discovered your channel today, amazing. I love music videos and specially when they're done to help tell the story of the music. So with that, I have some recommendations. Joyner Lucas: "I'm Sorry" Joyner Lucas: "Ross Capicchioni" (Based on a true story) Ice Nine Kills: "Funeral Derangements" - This band makes songs based on Horror Movies, This song is based on Pets Cemetery & the visual effects are just beautiful. Once the song is done, you'll find that there's more story, that's because the band has created a bigger story within the music videos and they all connect. You don't have to watch the rest, but as a VFX artist, i just love how it's shot and edited. Chris Stapleton: "Fire Away" Kendrick Lamar: "HUMBLE" ... if you haven't seen it, this is just a very creative music video and when it came out, not a lot of artist were using 360 cameras, nor bolt cameras for their music videos because they were so expensive, but he helped them make them popular within the music genre. Can't wait to see more of your content and as i think and remember more music videos, I'll send them your way! keep up the great content!
Interesting channel. You may already be aware of an artist called Ren. His songs and videos are really worth checking out as most of them are one-shot videos sung and played live. He's a tremendous story teller with very very simple tools, just him with a guitar and the guy filming. I don't know what kind of analysis you could make of his videos from a filmmaking point of view but it would be interesting to hear anyway. Especially his trilogy Jenny's Tale, Screech's Tale and Violet's Tale as well as his most viral song Hi Ren.

Your choices so far for reactions have been great. If you want to mix it up with another genre, I would REALLY suggest looking into the band Imminence. They have blown up the past year or so. The vocalist is seriously good, and he also plays violin while performing. Best of all though, their visuals are absolutely incredible. Their songs tell a story through their albums similar to NF, and the cinematography is unlike anything I've seen for music. I think you'll enjoy it. The song Heaven In Hiding would be a good introduction and followed by Chasing Shadows & Alleviate. I'll link it below.

If you want to see some more super expensive and high quality music videos you have to dive into K-pop! High quality of MVs is the backbone of the popularity of the genre. I highly recommend the song Halazia by Ateez. It came out a month ago with an epic cinematic MV filmed over 3 days in abandoned structures in Thailand. It's almost a short movie more than it is an MV. It was also preceded by a cinematic trailer for the album Spin off: From the Witness, that can easily be mistaken for a new Netflix show trailer!
Would like to see you react to some Tom MacDonald videos directed and shot by his gf Nova rockafeller , probably their best cinematic work is done in a song called Best Rapper Ever but they have a huge catalog
There's something to be said about the end of this video too, the difference between the end of the NF music video that leads into the outro with music because it's a more upbeat ending versus the dramatic ending here, with a sad but breathtaking message, and the outro with no music to really just let you sit in the silence of it all. Love these videos!

Recommend DPR Ians - Miito Movie (part 1) its previews of the first four songs on his new album and continuation of his first full length album. He sings, writes, directs and edits the entire video with help from his amazing team even has i tthink a behind the scenes of how he made it. Part of a small music collective he created call DPR - Dream Perfect Regime (there are other great artists as well like DPR Live who ian helps makes the music videos as well for (recommend Yellow Cab if you want more story based visuals tho ). His music videos have very distnct style but the movie he put out honestly gave me chills its gorgeous. only context will give all his albums are around his mental health experiences ^_^
huh, I'd never thought about it that way but when I'm running a Pathfinder game for my friends I use a lot of the 2+2 rather than giving them 4. It really allows me to adapt things to their ideas since I'm telling a story live, effectively. Not going to say I'm anywhere near a Matt Mercer though xD

You might be interested in reacting to the band Recoil (Alan Wilder from Depeche Mode). The music is very cinematic, the album Liquid literally could be made into a movie, since it's a concept album. I wish you could've react to Depeche Mode as well!

There are 10 songs (+ 2 b-sides that didn't make the cut "New York Nights" and "Don't Look Back") which pretty much tell a story, which is actually based on real life incident. The idea of the album came in when Alan Wilder had a near death experience, I think it was in 1995, some time after he left Depeche Mode. Basically, a small plane crashed in front of him with 2 pilots in it. The stories on Liquid are also based around of what one of the pilots might thought about in the last 30 seconds of his life. The first song "Black Box Part 1" and the last one "Black Box Part 2" describe the incident from a firefighters(? Not sure, might as well be some random person) POV. The Part 1 leads smoothly into the song "Want" sung by Nicole Blackman. The next one "Jezebel" uses vocals from London Golden Gate Quartet, I think that's how they are named. "Breath Control" sung by Nicole Blackman I think is about a relationship based around mostly sex, not sure on it though. "Last Call on Liquid Courage" is a groovy song sung by Samantha Coerbell, it's possibly about a party, and the lyrics refer to drinking alcochol. In fact, the album's title got it's name from this song, Alan Wilder explained that "Liquid" can mean a lot of things, like water, ice, alcochol, blood etc. The vocals were recorded after Samantha Coerbell was drunk. "Last Call" leads smoothly into "Strange Hours" sung by Damianda Galas. This is honestly my fav from this album, its groovy and has a nice strings section, at the beggining there's a section that's kinda cinematic, it sounds like somebody is outdoors, then goes to a bar (old rock and roll music plays here), and then outside again. This intro in full only appears on the album version as the music video cut it down and left a bit of it. The next song "Vertigen" is sung in a different language, I don't know what language this is, it's the one that I don't listen to too much. "Supreme" is sung by Samantha Coerbell, the lyrics do contain some strong language but honestly I like this song a lot, especially the strings. "Chrome" sung by Nicole Blackman, leads smoothly into "Black Box Part 2" which ends the album. I hope you will like it, if you do then I suggest you to check out the previous one "Unsound Methods" which is not really a concept album, but it's still really good.

You might be interested in reacting to the band Recoil (Alan Wilder from Depeche Mode). The music is very cinematic, the album Liquid literally could be made into a movie, since it's a concept album. I wish you could've react to Depeche Mode as well!

@@itsjonhiller would you please go with the "Liquid" album in order? There are 10 songs (+ 2 b-sides that didn't make the cut "New York Nights" and "Don't Look Back") which pretty much tell a story, which is actually based on real life incident. The idea of the album came in when Alan Wilder had a near death experience, I think it was in 1995, some time after he left Depeche Mode. Basically, a small plane crashed in front of him with 2 pilots in it. The stories on Liquid are also based around of what one of the pilots might thought about in the last 30 seconds of his life. The first song "Black Box Part 1" and the last one "Black Box Part 2" describe the incident from a firefighters(? Not sure, might as well be some random person) POV. The Part 1 leads smoothly into the song "Want" sung by Nicole Blackman. The next one "Jezebel" uses vocals from London Golden Gate Quartet, I think that's how they are named. "Breath Control" sung by Nicole Blackman I think is about a relationship based around mostly sex, not sure on it though. "Last Call on Liquid Courage" is a groovy song sung by Samantha Coerbell, it's possibly about a party, and the lyrics refer to drinking alcochol. In fact, the album's title got it's name from this song, Alan Wilder explained that "Liquid" can mean a lot of things, like water, ice, alcochol, blood etc. The vocals were recorded after Samantha Coerbell was drunk. "Last Call" leads smoothly into "Strange Hours" sung by Damianda Galas. This is honestly my fav from this album, its groovy and has a nice strings section, at the beggining there's a section that's kinda cinematic, it sounds like somebody is outdoors, then goes to a bar (old rock and roll music plays here), and then outside again. This intro in full only appears on the album version as the music video cut it down and left a bit of it. The next song "Vertigen" is sung in a different language, I don't know what language this is, it's the one that I don't listen to too much. "Supreme" is sung by Samantha Coerbell, the lyrics do contain some strong language but honestly I like this song a lot, especially the strings. "Chrome" sung by Nicole Blackman, leads smoothly into "Black Box Part 2" which ends the album. I hope you will like it, if you do then I suggest you to check out the previous one "Unsound Methods" which is not really a concept album, but it's still really good.
