Great video! I like this format of seeing twitter’s opinion. I saw on twitter you said this video wasnt doing well. Hopefully you keep trying! The catalan gambit in the semi slav from your d4 course might make a good puzzle as those are rich positions
I'm 1400 rapid and answered the poll with Qg5 after playing with the anal board for about 15 minutes. I thought it lead to the best chances for opening the G and H files and kicking the opponent's knight around, and that opponents at my low elo would have a psychologically hard time refusing the queen trade.
Fascinating stuff! Qg5 is not something I considered but is clearly a striking idea... will be incorporating it into my own games in future (hopefully!)
The thought process seems like: white calculates that their attacking lines are not working, so white needs to find a way to transition into a decent endgame
Hi coach. I saw the same pinning motif in one of your video and in order to not allow a queen trade and make the rook sac on the h4 square available I wanted to play e6 first and then Qg5 based on the fact that at the worst case my queen would not be trap if Kh8 and Bh6 was played by black because the e6 black pawn could be taken by queen. Best case is a successful attack by white, worst is a crushing endgame with a better center control and advanced pawn on the kingside for the endgame. I really want your opinion because I consider myself as a dragon player and as a dragon player I got amout of loses. I got a lot of amazing pawstorm lessons from painful loses. But few spectacular wins. I really want spectacular games but I feel like I'm not consistent with victories and there is no more progression. To be honest openings like these are not for lower player like myself (1500) but this is the opening I have the most knowledge of and the most fun opening. Do I have to persist or change for kan, najdorf or sveshnikov ? I have the same feeling with the king's Indian defense. Permanent dilema between KID or play the slav as you mentioned for better chess common sense with good habits. I talk obviously with the black perspective Awesome video by the way, thank you so much !
D'oh! On X I mentioned Kb1 and Nd5, but forgot that once the rook moved from f8 that's not possible. And I knew that. I wasn't giving the position my full attention.
Holyyyyyyy i was legit searching through your channel wondering if you have a video on how to beat the dragon. I have a question, in this line should I Nxe6 before 0-0-0 or play this line?

Tough problem, but beautiful analysis.
