Unintentionally funny doesn’t even begin to sum up Undertaker’s hilarious kidnapping of Stephanie...and a camera man LOL.. “Where to Stephanie?!...and Jim the camera man?! Sorry to drag you into this I’ll drop ya on the off on corner” - Undertaker
It’s been 25 years since the very first In Your House pay per view took place. Now, WWE announces that on 6/7/2020, we will have NXT Takeover: In Your House!
I saw it in person. It was great. Worst part of that show was Ultimate Warrior not wrestling and coming out just to smoke a stogie. It was so bizarre to see as a kid, I had no idea what was going on. Dark main event was Undertaker vs Mankind, with 'Taker going over. That was cool. I went with my dad.
@@seymourglass26 Not sure if I'm mad, though I certainly was mad back in 96 trying to watch that show. What's on the Network now may be as good as they say, but living it sucked. What a nightmare
What I still remember from the Canadian Stampede show is the pre-match promos from Team USA. When Road Warrior Hawk was cutting his promo you could see Steve Austin look visibly irritated and just walk out. That to me proved that the 80s/early 90s era of shouting and screaming promos was over and a new era had truly begun.
The main event from Over the Edge 1998 is the sort of thing I'd show someone to give them an idea of what the Attitude Era was all about, including the YOU MUST OBEY video package. That was memorable. Also, I'm due to rewatch Canadian Stampede sometime soon.
2:35 Stunner on top of truck. I would need a better picture but I think that is me in the red hat with my first raised. 3 row seat, 3 of the main aisle.
I was actually at In your house "cold day in Hell" on Mother's day 1997. Still remember it to this day and even in the grand scheme of things nothing really significant happened on that show, it was still great to me because it was my 1st ppv event that I witnessed live.
My brothers and I were at Canadian Stampede. It was freaking awesome. The best part was when we got a free tour of the saddle dome a few hours before showtime and saw hunter mankind and Chyna's doing a walkthrough of their match! All 3 of us were blown away!
#1 is honestly the In Your Howse podcast. Honestly, I'm addicted to it. It sounds like you are listening to real friends talk about wrestling in a way that's just intoxicating. Especially the kid they have as The Outcast of the Podcast.
I was at the Canadian Stampede.. That building was electric that night!! Best live WWE show I've ever been to!! I agree with this guy.. A+ PPV for sure!!
"Very large men crashing in to one another. and while that might be my naan's definition _of a good time. That's my one per list."_ Not the crossover we want but.....
J.R. And the king are the best commentating duo we‘ve ever had so the list would be super anti climactic. Not saying there aren’t other good ones a previous comment mentioned some, but their chemistry is just too good
I have to say, Canadian Stampede very rightfully deserves this #1 posititon, the match between the entire Hart Foundation stable vs. Team America with the heels being cheered by the pro-Canadian crowd is one of the best main events ever in WWF history, as its so packed full of hot action and bumps, its almost too hard to keep up with it. When the Harts dragged Owen back to their corner and helped him nurse his injured leg, they played that angle so perfectly dramatic, it almost felt like they were fighting a legit war, and Bret Hart was the general of the Canadian army!
I'll always call shenanigans on BEWARE of DOG. I made a note of it that on my cousins WWF Calender that listed Birthdays but more importantly Event dates that the PPV was scheduled for TUESDAY, the date where the "Redo" occurred. Its definitely a very little known early WWF scan that had occurred. They got me as well, as I ordered both events.
Ya know, I'm glad you added the other ppv's in here as well like fully loaded and unforgiven, no way out etc. I never considered them in you house events but for this list I'm glad you did!
I love how the whole series had themed names but never got their proper shout out like 1-6 had names too. 1: Premiere, 2: The Lumberjacks, 3: Triple Header, 4: Great White North, 5: Season Beatings and 6: Rage In The Cage. Yes campy names but they worked
Valentines Day Massacre was great. I was at Skydome for the Raw go home show six nights earlier and was trying to find the feed on the internet (not easy in '99 with dial up) and could only get audio of Cole and the King. That match was awesome and I called a bar that was only a few subway stops away and had some wings and beers and it was great. However that match I refer to was Holly versus Al Snow and one of my favorite matches of all time. This also pinned the peak of the WWE which was late 1998 and early 1999. The end came after the handicap ladder match at KOTR
Go back and watch the HBK v Taker match from Ground Zero that led to the hell in a cell the next month. Match is off the charts from the get-go, literally the 1st thing that happens is Taker straight up punches the ref out.
That match is so underrated. I always enjoy watching that match, despite not having a winner. Their styles just meshed so well. All the interferences in this match led to hell in cell where Shawn couldn’t run or dx couldn’t interfere.
Canadian Stampede doesn't get talked about at all when it comes to the very best PPVs WWE(F) ever produced. All four of those matches, Vince, JR and Jerry Lawler all wearing those cowboy hats, and a WHITE HOT crowd in Calgary made it a joy to watch from beginning to end; have my old VHS tape recording of that event stashed away and cherished every time I got to watch it over again. Just a phenominal show. :)
That Final Four main event was really good, and also was notable for some NASTY Vader hardway juice. I feel like this match should be somewhere in the top 10 to 15 matches of the 90s for WWF
Cultaholic might have to do an update to this list once WWE NXT Takeover: In Your House premieres and is reviewed. I’ll be interesting to see where it falls in the ranking of this list.
No Way Out of Texas also kinda screwed up by having Thrasher blade at the very start of the PPV. The cameraman got the entire thing, very blatant what he's doing. Afterwards, there's a giant red stain on the canvas the entire night. Also, the Nation match was called a War of Atrition, and the announcers never fully knew what that was supposed to be. Turned out it was just a one-fall five man tag match.
He was the WWF's Japanese version of Rey Mysterio... he just never got the attention or praise that Rey got because the federation's light-heavyweight division at the time seemed to be an afterthought.
@@Hugh_Morris I'll admit that. The WWF seemed to forget how to market Asian wrestlers in the mid-to-late 90's. Taka didn't have the charisma that Rey exuded though their skill in the ring was arguably equal.
Notice how they didn't mention the Ulitmate Warrior vs Golduat...thing...from Good Friend's, Better Enemies... It might be the worst match that In Your House ever had.
One match shows that Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels kept from being a total loss. The New Generation era without those two would have been really, really rough.
I agree mostly with the exception of your number 1. Canadian Stampede is definitely top ten for me but for a pay per view event with only four matches, I can't rank it #1
Overall despite there being less atmosphere I actually think Bret vs Bulldog at Seasons Beatings is a better match than the Summerslam one. That and Michaels vs Taker cell match at Badd Blood are in my top 5 WWE matches ever.
"Sometimes the sequel is better than the original: The Dark Knight, Terminator 2, Cultaholic" them shots though

@Onikage5555 I'm at the point whenever I click on a WC video I'm saying to myself "Please be Simon, please be Simon"
Tbf Pacitti is good too. Not a fan of Ross however
Also Terminator is better than T2 as it doesn't have Edward Furlong
The video and I literally said the dark knight at the same time

Good Friends Better Enemies is my personal favorite. I remember watching that Diesel vs HBK match over and over again as a kid..

I still think of it as the WWF's first Attitude Era match even if the Attitude Era hadn't really started yet.
It was a big bully getting beat up by a small child. It was a fun match. 😃
That hell in a cell match at badd blood is my favorite match ever
It's pretty darn good. 1000000000% better than anything modern
22:19... SHADEEEEEE. But so true. Lol
