the difference is unlike all the previous USC QBs Darnold CARRIED USC. All the others outside of Carson Palmer were carried by USC. I'm not saying Darnold will not be a bust but unlike the other guys he has real arm talent. I knew all the other guys would be busts based off college tape. I called Barkley, Leinhardt, all those clowns as future busts. But Darnold I can't just call him a bust based off college. Dude was really out there putting the team on his back.

I’d encourage anyone who thinks Mayfield will wind up like Manziel in terms of off-field to look up the McKenzie Asher story. Baker can be a bit immature and impulsive and has made mistakes, but he has a good heart and really cares about people and the game. I also think people tend to overreact to the KU incident, as if he just flipped his junk at them after they refused to shake hands. No, they took multiple cheap shots at him, including the one to his throwing should-the same one that almost had to have surgery after the Kansas State game. I don’t care if it’s Kansas, that DB is just lucky no one on OU’s team took a cheap shot at him.

I normally agree with Joel Klatt but he’s wrong about this guy. He is Johnny manziel off the field. He also has huge bust potential (60%+) unless he gets put into a great situation.

Many QBs are cocky, even Tom Brady acts like that sometimes on the field. I think it actually has a benefit in sports but dont take it to far thats when its a problem. Jordan, Kobe, Bird, they had that cockiness too.

What many people forget is that Mayfield is about 2 years older than nearly all the other QB-prospects. I'm not that impressed with him. Can he be starter in the NFL? Of course he could, but I would be very surprised if he'll have a better career in the longterm than for example Darnold or Rosen.

The one thing you can't say about Mayfield is that he doesnt make his team better. Oklahoma should have got smacked by Georgia but he got his guys so amped for that game that they almost won the thing. No one is concerned about the 25 turnovers for Darnold and I don't get it. Rosen is a guy that cant stay healthy in college imagine the NFL. I hope Denver takes Mayfield in the first and Will Hernandez in the 2nd. And if he is still there Sony Michel should be the next pick talk about weapons on offense.

I am not a Baker Mayfield fan but there is no reason for Colin to be so negative against the kid. At the end of the day, the draft isn’t an exact science and he will be good most likely depending on which team takes him.

Just going to be honest I don’t think darnold is anything special he doesn’t have any overwhelming qualities that make him a star i think he’ll be average to above average in the nfl he’s bortles or gabbert not wentz or big ben honestly I think his arm is overrated he probably is 5th in terms of arm strength of the top 5 qbs in this draft he’s not that athletic he’s solid I don’t think he’ll be terrible but he’s not a star either I think his ceiling is kirk cousins

I disagree with the Darnold not having a good supporting cast. He arguably had the best receiving core and running back in the PAC12. While his Oline was young compared to the previous year but he was surrounded by NFL talent. He's been my least favorite QB between Rosen, Mayfield, and Allen
Massive bust. Mayfield cannot be "true to himself" like Joel Klatt states. He wants to become the face of a $1-$2 billion franchise. Staying true to Mayfield will not accomplish that goal. The kid has the maturity level of a middle school kid. Name one legendary QB that was ever labeled with maturity issues coming out of school. Either Manning? Brady? Rodgers? Montana? Brees? Elway? Etc. Nope.
