Even though nobody liked Joey and Rachel as a couple, especially not Matt and Jennifer, Matt really did a convincing job at conveying Joey's feelings. His acting was the best part of this divisive storyline.

Not everyone are big fans of these two but you gotta give them credit for having feelings for each other back and forth. I mean Rachel’s little Hmmmmmm was so cute and later on when Rachel saw Joey acting in a romantic drama as Dr. Drake, I mean he was very handsome. Can you blame them seriously for falling for each other they have a good eye and good taste. Even though this was never meant to be let’s not hate too much in an alternate universe who knows this kinda fits in someways is kinda sincere you gotta admit.
Joey falling in love with Rachel makes sense and it worked well.. but Rachel falling in love with Joey all bc of a dream she had is a nail in the coffin

I like this storyline and makes all the sense to me: they cared for each other, they were sexy and good-looking together... I prefer this relationship over the toxic coming together and going apart of Ross and Rachel. I would have liked very much that they had more screen time together.

Poor Joey. He is so conflicted.
I watched it in real time (when it 1st came out in the 90s and each season was in 1 year) and had to wait a whole year for the next season. So maybe that has influenced my opinion, but anyway, I don't think the Rachel Joey thing was unreasonable. Ross and Rachel were lagging so much, so I don't know, at the time the Joey and Rachel thing, it didn’t annoy me, I liked it.

Rachel and Joey had such a strong platonic friendship for most of the series, so it felt like a cop out to pair them up so late in the run. Even Matt and Jen reportedly felt very creepy while filming the scenes.

This one was just an innocent crush of Joey Rachel made him feel love for first time which felt cute problem was when Rachel reciprocated his feelings season 10 beginning was bad and those were the scenes they were talking about.
Say what you want about this arc but the acting for it was very well done

This is the one story arc that makes me cringe any time I watch this part of the series. Joey and Rachel had ZERO chemistry as a couple. They had perfect chemistry as a platonic relationship but not as a couple. Even Matt and Jennifer said they didn’t like it which should tell you everything: I’ve been on the record saying they should’ve had Joey and Phoebe together because they always had the best chemistry.
But as of me Joey and Rachel would have been so awesome ❤
I don't know why you people have problem with this I think it was cute Joey for the first time felt what it would be like to fall in love Rachel made him feel it problem was when Rachel had feelings for him this one is opposite of cringe Matt Jen talked about season 10 not about this since Rachel turned him down in this season.
Joey falling in love with her that too when she was pregnant it's unlike him he learnt true meaning of love through her.

This was the WORST storyline on Friends. This really pissed me off. It came out of nowhere and was foul. Bad writing.
I concede that it is weird to fall in love of your friends after like 8-9 years, but i swear it is possible.
One day you can wake up and eventually fall in love, even though you've been in a 100% platonic friendship for a WHILE. Hence you start spending a little more time with the person, paying a little more attention, being a little nicer; and at the end of day it might win over the other's feeling.
I'm not saying it was the best choice the writers did, they could've done so much better, for example joey falling in love but not rachel would've been much more realistic, but I don't think they wrote a scenario so unrealistic.

Joey being the biggest hypocrite as he made Chandler BEG for forgiveness and then put himself in a box because he fell in love with just one of Joey's girlfriends and breaking the "code." And how was it not super creepy to suddenly fall in love with a woman who is carrying your best friend's child. This was just sick.
Those are feelings there isn't any on and off switch for that they just happen to sprout and Joey wasn't mad at Chandler because he fell in love with his girlfriend he was mad because he never told him before kissing her here Joey first talked to Ross after Ross said he was ok with it he then confessed his feelings Joey in this season didn't kiss her or confess before talking to Ross so there is a difference between Chandler and his situation.
It’s a different situation. Kathy was with Joey when Chandler kissed her. Rachel wasn’t with Ross when Joey confessed his feelings for her, and he didn’t kiss her either so nothing happened
