Well done that's a good days fishing, Super Double, it looked all of Ten Pounds + in the net, and always a challenge with double takes in tight swims, I have had 10 plus fish from that stretch as I prefer to stay in one swim, I did not recognise the area section you were in, I have yet to cover all 2.5 mile. 😀
I know that feeling mate walking past a swim that you are very confident in. There was one swim I hammered to be honest a good few seasons ago it was perfect with a collapsed tree with a big hole beneath it in an otherwise fairly featureless area a very long walk and I never saw another angler up there. It never let me down but unfortunately the ea took the tree out and I never had a touch there again.
Yes mate the EA have done it more times now than I care to remember. For an organisation supposed to improve fish habitat they do a good job of wrecking it. Although they do some good work as well they seem to get carried away with chainsaws.
Don't change your tactics Mark. The guy you spoke to (Robert) isn't always correct. I was the local guy that spoke to you yesterday. I fished the match 4 pegs upstream from where you were. I lost 3 good Barbel on the rocks up there, but despite this managed to win my section. A very good angler fished 2 pegs down from your position and weighed in 70+lbs to win the match. Fantastic achievement in bright sunlight. Cheers Phil
Lovely Chub not had one for ages, enjoying.

Thanks Chris, I’ve still got so much of the river to explore, but what a great stretch 👍🏻

So annoying when someone thinks it good to remove a holding feature 🥴
