It is great to see you with your kids, mine have grown up now and it is hard to get them to come away with me anynmore, so enjoy your time mate. Love the videos
As a fellow Troopy owner, I think it is awesome that you are building your Troopy as you go - just letting it develop, doing the mods that you find will work for your style of camping and 4wding, without doing a shotgun build with pre-conceived ideas and without it being a continuous advert for particular brands.
Great video Ronny, thanx. I'm at the age where my kids invite me and the Mrs out camping when they go. Son and Daughter both with partners and grandkids. Good times.
Great to see how even Australian dogs mange to find themselves in exactly the right spot (in the middle of the kitchen) as soon as their human family members start to prepare a meal!
Cryovac also keeps the meat longer! Love these sorts of videos that show everyone the options to think about for their setups. Daddy time is best For me it would be sorting out the suspension
Next mod? In my book - suspension. My troopy has the ARB Old Man Emu package. That gives me a 50mm lift, a sway bar (very important if you have a bit of weight on top) and a GVM upgrade to 3780kgs. The other big thing I have done lately has been to replace the factory brake booster with a hydraulic one, running off the power steering system. The factory brakes are pretty feeble at the best of times and with large diameter wheels and heavier loads, they just don't feel safe. The hydraulic booster really does the job and as a bonus, is more compact, giving a little extra room in the engine bay.
Great video Brother. We are watching you from Portland Oregon USA. Especially liked the experimental drop out rear door table. Clever. Enjoy the adventures. Happy Travels from the EKKOnesters.
Troopys looking great! You’re not wrong in regards to an intense core work out when it comes to off-road 😂 Loved the videography in this episode the crew captured everything so well! 👍
Looks like a suspension upgrade is needed. Probably need to see what your final loadout weight will be on your front and rear axles before choosing and installing. Loving your troopy!!
God, I wish I could offer my girl places like this for vacations. I live in Berlin though. This summer we will be hitting the Alps in a rented camper van, hopefully by next year I will have my own overlander. I think you need: 1) Better organisation for the rear, some sort of cupboard/drawer system 2) Suspension, maybe springs on the rear 3) Side table/bench on the outside of the truck?
beautiful video of the family trip all you need is to clear wrap the Troopy so you don't get pinstripe on the paint work hope to see you do more video with the family before the girls grow up
I too took my kids on a road trip in December..Was a blast! Like to hit the beach and that's 7 hour drive each way. I blew the transmission (Auto) on a 2000 100 series (245K miles) on my most recent visit to Corpus Christy TX.
Fantastic episode n a couple of spectacular WA beaches. Shakedowns are the way to go, the best way to iron out the bugs. Looking forward to the next mods
Nice one Ronny I'm building my old 75 series up now as well, have gone with the Alu-Cab conversation and awnings but no inside yet it is in designed and in the work order at Drifta. Have fitted a 40L stainless water tank under the back between the rear fuel tank and tow bar with pump seems good so far with a r/h vent replacement panel for inlet, outlet, breather & air compressor fitting which was tricky for plumbing or finding good strong fittings but have got there in the end . Yes the electrical side of things there is so much out there and you need to know exactly what you want to run off it , as I like to do things once the right way but it is so expensive and especially if you are thinking of induction cooking . I don't think it is worth the extra money just to do away with you gas or butane cooking that I have used for years , I know there is advantages but I don't know if they out way the cost , would be interested in what you decide on ... yes my old girl does have an older dual battery set up that seems to be working fine at the moment with an AGM battery. Thanks for the vid man glad you could spend time with your kids , oh dear poor camera man doing a tyre on his Prado but it was rocky 😊🤙.
Looking awesome Ronny, girls are growing like weeds too! Video crew: mic sensitivity is a bit much eh...sounds like Ronny his yelling? Video is stellar!
Thanks Ronny. How do you find the Companion LPG bottles with the Fyreknight? I've struggled to get them to thread onto the regulator. Also, what is your setup for thethering everything in the back (esky etc?). Cheers!
Ronny. Vibes are immaculate on this one. I reckon a large percentage of your audience is probably made up of people like myself who arent all about the hear and keen to see people getting out with the family in a more basic setup. Keeping the troopy capable but basic and versatile has my vote. Cheers.
Great video mate, just got our first tourer. Chomping at the bit to get away. As you said the Suspension is the only thing to do. Keep the family stuff coming.
Okaaaay since you asked, next things to address: 1. Not really any of my business but as a ridgeback owner, your girl needs to shed about 10 kgs to help her get old gracefully without joint pain. ❤ 2. Bottom fitout, make it in a way that you can sleep people downstairs as well! Seat that turns into bed. 3. There’s trial non sticks with removable click handle. Super easy for storage. 4. Don’t overdo the electrical please! Eats up soooo much space 5. Starlink??!! Don’t know how that goes with point 4 though 😅 6. Underbody water tank !? 7. Westralia parabolics (support your local) 8. Would love to see when you convert the rear, how you could accommodate for a passenger in the back still !? So you can still bring the two kids. 9. Loooove the channel
Live the video man 🫡🇨🇦 nice selection of equipment. I’ve got a few items the same as yours. I gotta do a shake down in spring when the weather is a bit better.
Nice and fresh Troopy, keep up the good work. Really enjoying the videos and very helpful. Only thing that is missing are some good old driving lights in the bull bar. I would like to suggest some Lazer lamps, 9 inch Sentinel Elite. Made In the UK very nice looking and very bright. Cheers
Awesome helpful and real knowledge thank you Ronny ! . I notice you take your dog on a lot of trips can you do a how to travel with a dog safely in remote places eg " avoiding snakes and 1080 bates everywhere .
Love your videos mate. Mind if I ask for the brand of the cookset? Been looking for a stainless steel cookset for ages that can double as being fire proof. Don't really like cooking on aluminium and titanium is too pricey. It's hard to find one with a good sized pan that all compacts together still. Cheers
Suspension should be your next project for the Troopy. It sounded so bad. Overall, I like that set up. Either for solo or with a small family. I'm hoping to turn my 2000 Ford F150 into a simple overlander for some events and emergency situations.
The Troopy is the ultimate overlander and that’s coming form a Jeep guy. Solid axles and all that interior space. Just wish Toyota would bring them to the US.
"When I put this down there's not much room height" would you instead of buying a troopy have concidered a custom built camper shell on your previous vehicle, curious? Have been watching, now that you own a troopy your in a position to decipher? Nice video.
As European I think it would be easier to bring a Landcruiser to Australia and build it up than to order all these parts and install it here. Great content by the way. My daughter is acting the same way like yours.
Sounds like the suspension needs attention, but you'd need to work out a ballpark figure for weight of your 12v, fridge, kitchen, etc before pulling the trigger on a new suspension set up. Great content as always 👌
Hey mate, have you considered a trangia for cooking? They sell them at anaconda. Light as and can be converted to gas if you don’t want to carry fuels.
How much structural strength does the roof lose when the pop top conversion is done? In the event of a roll over would the roof still protect the occupants?
Hey Ronny That was exactly what I wanted to see! 2 questions. Was the paddle board an inflatable one? And if so what brand and is it easy to store, set up? Also I noticed your camera man was driving a prado, does that mean the prado went everywhere the troopy did? Hope so because a parado is more my price range lol
@ronnydahl Hey mate, we had the FireKnight cooker too, you’re right, too bloody cumbersome and heavy. We recently changed to a more compact and lightweight system - got the Jetboil Genesis set. Will never look back. Maybe give it a look for your new troopy set up 🤘 Great videos 👍
Sounds like sorting suspension would be a best next move. Curious to know, what is that big round metal object just off the small beach? Kinda looks like a jet engine🤠
It sucks hey they're all selling out, they put a little bit at the start that says includes paid promotion.. umm no the whole video is a paid promotion from start to finish. Ronny is one of the more honest ones but still. At least a lot of them are being taken to court due to the non disclosure of payed sponsorship.
@@MyViewon_Life I didn't read it and it's taken me a few hours to remember where I'd heard it. It was John Coddogin who mentioned it on his channel I'm sure of it.
Great video Ronny. So nice seeing your beautiful girls enjoying the camping trip. Oh and the puppy too. Cheers mate.
It is great to see you with your kids, mine have grown up now and it is hard to get them to come away with me anynmore, so enjoy your time mate. Love the videos

Thanks crew for making great content. It is keeping me alive
Authentic Ronny Dahl. Even had the look of a Ronny edit. Loved it. Loved seeing Chris there too. Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed it

Awesome trip, I wish I can do something similar with my daughters. Amazing places.
Awesome set up just how I want my troopy Ty for sharing
Cryovac also keeps the meat longer!
Love these sorts of videos that show everyone the options to think about for their setups.

@Ronny_Dahl.. Hi Ronny,
Is this really from you?
Really enjoyed watching this one. It just felt more relaxed although it probably wasn't quite as chilled out as it looked on camera :)
Great video Brother. We are watching you from Portland Oregon USA. Especially liked the experimental drop out rear door table. Clever. Enjoy the adventures. Happy Travels from the EKKOnesters.
It’s looking great Ronny! And dammit - now I want hot crossed buns hammered with butter!

thanks mat, glad you liked it 🙂

Loving your troopy!!
Yep, suspension upgrade next Ronny. Suspension is the foundation for rest of your build.
Living the dream
Stratchit city! I also like that new box with the silver clips. Those clips look a lot stronger.
Nice Troopy Ronny St Pierre White! 👍 Love how the Rooftop ten is level but the swag is running downhill....
Good video again Ronny
Mate put a small ish bucket in your esky for things that you want to stay dry 👍
“The kids are busy so I’m going to take advantage of that right now and set up the entire camp”.… ahh yes, can relate !

Nice one really good test looks great areas.
Also really liked how much you appreciated your film crew that was cool.
Great vid. I'd get that suspension taken care of asap. I drive a Wrangler Rubi on 37s in the US.
This was just amazing. Thank you much for sharing this family adventure!

Such an awesome build! I want one👌
👌 Ronny , beautiful beach ⛱️ camping 🏕 👏 Greetings Mate 🤝 and cheers 🍻 from south africa 🇿🇦 👍

Great video Ronny, but you left the missus at home.
Can you drop a link to the compact pot and pan set you use? They look great!
lookup Stanley its the full kit
Nice awning 🦾
wholesome, love the locations
You have beautiful daughters. This is what offroad might be about if you’ve got a family. Good job dude
Upgrade the shocks and maybe springs . And awesome trip. Wa has many great 4wd beaches.

Once again another awesome video put together well done to everyone involved 👏
I’m thinking a suspension upgrade Ronny 👍
Great Troopy! Maybe add a solar energy source to it, if not already there.
Suspension should be your next project for the Troopy. It sounded so bad. Overall, I like that set up. Either for solo or with a small family. I'm hoping to turn my 2000 Ford F150 into a simple overlander for some events and emergency situations.
What are you going to use for your cooking if you won’t be taking the Coleman stove again
Suspension and windscreen sunvisor would be my next 2 additions on a similar troopy build
Great video. Cant wait till we are able to import these to Canada.
Hey mate, what brand 270 awning have you put on the troopy. Looks good
The Troopy is the ultimate overlander and that’s coming form a Jeep guy. Solid axles and all that interior space. Just wish Toyota would bring them to the US.
Jet boil genesis cooker is perfect for compact

Hey mate, have you considered a trangia for cooking? They sell them at anaconda. Light as and can be converted to gas if you don’t want to carry fuels.
Ronny thanks for the video....thanks for sharing. btw where can I find the patches you are using on the roof? Thank you.
on www.4wheeling-merch.com
How much structural strength does the roof lose when the pop top conversion is done? In the event of a roll over would the roof still protect the occupants?
Nice vid, what are the straps your using to tie down things? Looks like it has some sort of rubber/stretch to it. Thanks
Frontrunner ones, the grey are short and the black are the longer version
Troopy looks bloody mint! What ground sheet are you using?
That was cool Something different
Fantastic production quality 👌
Much appreciated!
Ronny can you answer this question ❓ can you live full time in Australia like this ,thinking of retiring there and would like to do this full time .
Hey Ronny
That was exactly what I wanted to see!
2 questions.
Was the paddle board an inflatable one? And if so what brand and is it easy to store, set up?
Also I noticed your camera man was driving a prado, does that mean the prado went everywhere the troopy did? Hope so because a parado is more my price range lol
yeah its from anaconda and its a 5-10min job to inflate it
and prado did and mostly does go everywhere the Troopy does
@ronnydahl
Hey mate, we had the FireKnight cooker too, you’re right, too bloody cumbersome and heavy. We recently changed to a more compact and lightweight system - got the Jetboil Genesis set. Will never look back. Maybe give it a look for your new troopy set up 🤘 Great videos 👍
thanks for the tip, I'll have a look at them
That the ASPW troopy in an affordable way. Keep ist basic! You live in a beautiful country
Fox shocks or similar suspension upgrade is probably number one on the list
An adjustable pan hard would help the one rear side hitting. Always good getting out with the family
What are those storage containers with the clear lids? I could definitely use one of those for my dry goods and it looked quality.
They are from crashpad, i rate them
Nice French nails, Ronnie… 💅😉
Give the yakima road shower on the troopy a go, its a game changer
nice INTRO music RONNY
Well done!
Where is that little beach? I have 2 daughters looking for some weekend trips from Perth to go on
Also, what awning is that? Thanks
Destination 4wd awning. They are from Cairns AUS made
Parabolics mate, pretty sure you know someone! ;0)
Sounds like sorting suspension would be a best next move. Curious to know, what is that big round metal object just off the small beach? Kinda looks like a jet engine🤠
what is the compact pot and pan set you are using?
Where is that rear table from thats perfect as it folds up not down!
Sorry couldn't finish watching in all the years ive been watching RUclips never seen so many adds in one video
