I love the Vomero 16. Just feel great after runs. Hips, knees and back seem to take less of a beating in the Vomero. I can see why it's popular with heavy runners. In terms of protection and injury prevention this one is a winner.

Most distance runners seem to throw shade on the Invincible's, but damn, I love mine. This must be how the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man feels with each of his steps! 100+ miles and they've been my favorite daily shoe for LHR training. I've had no toe blisters from the reflective piece, nor have I noticed them to be overly "hot."

I’ve been really excited to try this Vomero since I saw it. I loved the Vomeros prior to v13. To me it was a Max comfort shoe but scaled down so it’s not crazy stacked. I always saw those older versions as just a more all around plush pegasus. That’s what I’ve been hoping for a return to someday. After seeing the cushion and zoomx instead of react it started to get me hopeful and now hearing you describe it that way, I’m def gonna have to give v16 a shot

Thanks for another fantastic review Mike!
I love my Invincible which forces me to land midfoot and able to run long distance with less risk of injuries.
In the past, somehow, most of Pegasus series didn't work for me.
So, I was running in Zoomfly 3s for training and keeps getting knee injuries, but now I am back to road running comfortably since Invincible.
Only drawback is the high price but I still prefer this shoes over a pair of Alphafly which I bought at $200 at the local Nike store recently.

Love the feel of the Invincible for the first 3km - there's no shoe like it and if I wanted to make a non-runner believe running for one mile could be pure fun, I'd put forward that shoe for that reason. But I have had the same rubbing issue as others, kicking in at 3-4km into my runs and it appears to me to be the gusseting for tongue, rubbing against the outer knit and creasing up against the insole. Guessing something to do with my toe-off and the softness of the foam, but only happens on the right foot. Makes them unusable. It's now just a very expensive door-stop... I loved my Vomero 10s, so guess I'm with you on the winner here too.

It's such a refreshing release from Nike. Takes you back in time. The shoe is lighter than 15 and with a softer upper and thick pad. It has a support element in the mid sole. Brilliant for heavy runners 200+. If only this came in 4mm drop like Kinvara it would be the best Athleisure in a long time. It hurts my plantar fascitis if I stand on it for very long and then the knee pain kicks in. Slow pace/Ave pace jogs/runs - this will go a long mile. I am back to Kinvaras after testing these and even the 0 drops like Altra Torin 5. Kinvara are old school beasts for every kinda workout including runs and hiit. Thank you brother for your beautiful and passion filled reviews. ❤

I have a pair of Invincibles, with 42km in them and a mild case of quadricep tendinitis, more of a jumpers injury. My physiotherapist says they likely caused it but he wants me to build up to running in them. I'll see when the tendinitis goes away and I get through upcoming gallbladder surgery. Boy I'll be glad when 2020 and 2020 2.0 (commonly called 2021) are over. Another great video.

For me I know it was years ago but the vomero 14. I felt like they intended the vomero to be a longer run, more stable. Less Nike.. esk. So less forced on high cadence and turn over but more geared towards those who need more support and protection. The vomero 16 sounds really nice, just seems over built for what it’s for but obviously could feel different on foot. Just sounds like a lot of technology in the shoe for me. I completely agree with your opinion on the invisible.

midsole looks great and I'm super excited to try it out, but I'm sorry I have no clue what Nike is doing in their design department. All of their recent daily trainers IMO look kinda ugly and tacky, this version of the vomero literally looks like the vomero 11 but worse, the upper looks almost cheap and something you would find at Nordstrom rack in the athletic department for 35 bucks. Even the peg and invincible look tacky and bulky. I honestly feel like the last good looking nike daily trainers were the Peg 36 (although the new 38 isn't terrible looking), turbo 2, and the vomero 14. I feel like Nike has been killing it with their racing shoes but daily trainers have gone super downhill.

  • @BamainMn

I have 120 mi on the invincible and have concluded that I cannot typecast it to any run in particular. They’re too unstable for a recovery shoe on real tired legs and too squishy for long runs. I even prefer the more efficient Infinity Flyknit as a daily trainer. But they’re just a joy for those runs where I just feel like bopping along.

Between the two shoes, Vomero 16 is a bit more versatile and a bit lighter pair than Invincible. So as a daily trainer, like you, I will pick Vomero 16 over Invincible. If Invincible’s stack height is a bit lower both in the front and heel, and if the overall weight is lower (by reducing the amount of padding around the tongue and heel), it would be a more functional and versatile pair. I know some runners love the Invincible. But Nike could make a lite version Invincible for smaller/medium frame body runners and have it priced less by $30. I would definitely be interested in that pair.
