Imagine some zerg making a high walls maze and placing these turrets along the way to turn rust into a bloons tower defense for nakeds trying to sneak in 😂😂
You should use double doors instead of garage doors because they open a lot quicker, also the turrets should be always on because it gives the enemy time to run
idk, leaves pretty large blind spots plus is less strong and the doors dont need to be completly open for the turrets to shoot. Only enough for the top of the turret.
That was a complicated circuit for 3 turrets with hbhf. But trying out stuff until it works is a great way of learning. A tip: When a circuit works, go through it and try to remove components and make it work with less. Optimize it as much as possible. Bu looking at this, i can tell you that there is no need for memory cells, and the amount of branches could maybe be cut in half. And there is also no need to have the splitter. The timer is nice if you want it open for a amount of time. but is not required. Also, try to seperate the turrets, if 1 guy triggers the tower, another can shoot rockets and get all 3 turrets at once Keep on learning^^ defence towers are great
@@BalynOmavel it makes no sense to connect the turrets to hbhf... you need turrets on all the time and by connecting the hbhf to the doors they are protected and only in use when a threat comes close to your base. But no it makes absolutely no sense to have the turrets activating off hbhf.
@@biggity_blake you can't connect them directly to hbf , i added the timer to make it triggered for certain amount of time , sometimes it can kill more players even if the hbf does not detecting anyone due to detecting distance
FYI: The electricty will use around 60 power units, which is the same amount that 3 solar panels can generate at max. During the night, you wont make power with the solar panels, but will continue to eat up power. That will inevitably dry out the battery and you wont be able to use it
It's only 60 when the machine is triggered and for 10 seconds only unless you change the value of the timer , in off mode it's using only 32 power which is good enough for recharging to last the night.
Possible simplification: Instead of memory cells, you can use an AND switch as "amplifier" for the sensor to drive the OR switches (with more than 1 power) :)
Yeah I was confused with the mem cells for a simple on/off. Also a smart switch instead of a regular switch for remote on/off in case someone finds a blind spot.
@@LuxInvicta yeah, with this "amplifier" pattern and some OR switching you can do all these things.. manual override with switches or RF (the good ol "kill everyone button") or keeping doors forced open using the "has target" signal from the turret while its shooting at someone running away.. :)
I came across these as outer perimeter defense, I just walk right up to it with 2 Wooden Barricade Cover and shoot an incendiary rocket into it, the garage door kept the fire within the square hence breaking all 3 turrets, and I stashed by launcher and 3 minutes later came back to pick up 3 free bolt rifles since the sensor and door controller were intact. These are only good for the first time as a surprise, next time people will be coming back with grenades and launchers or just bows and bait them out, as a base owner you'll have more headache repairing and replacing your turrets than the beach spawns that won't stop coming back.
Build the tower using triangles, partition each turret, and place the door controllers at the lowest point you can behind the turret. Any kind of rocket or explosion will usually destroy the door controller first, closing the doors and protecting your turret and ammo. Whilst also serving as extra honeycomb. Grubs have a shit time trying to take out a series of turret pods set up like this.
thats nice; i like that!!! i was last months when i played rust on my own (dedicated) server experimenting with some prison cell doors and walls; but this auto-opening thing with heartbeatsensors I dont even think about it; more than auto closing doors when anyone is getting into my compound. And yeah, all on electrics i had doing is : the inputs via wind or solar; and additional those engines; this red boxes (adding sources) and those splitter (black ones) and a switch for the light... Ok; putting some sams and autoturrets and christmastreelighs around my compound that was nearly all electric... you can do crazy stuff with all of it (electric circuit components like and-nand-nor-xor-or whatsoever switches and memorycells) ; but the annoying thing is the max output from 100 of a huge battery; and if you charge with 600 + you have to change the wiring when you want charge many more batteries and so on... you waste a lot of energy about it. 600+++ in and just 100 out. Stupid!!!
Get your 600 in one wire for simplicity, split it into 6 with splitters or branches into 6 batteries then combine all 6 batteries back into 1 for 600 in ~600 out then go from there. Not necessarily a LARGE waste of power, maybe 10 at most but worth it imo. Also dk if I misinterpreted your comment or not.
I like the concept but you should add in a Blocker and wire that on the bypass of No ammo so that if someone gets close when they are empty the doors stay closed it’s another 2 wires to a blocker and it interrupts the door switches.

Solar panel placement is wrong because rusts sun is just a visual effect the solar panel sun sets from east to west straight through the middle of the map so if your north of mid map you set south and if your south you set north if your middle you set whatever you think your closest too
I did this with 2 turrets and someone managed to use one turret to shoot the other turret. Also incendiary rockets instantly wipe this set up because of how slow the garage doors roll down. Just my experience, but this is a good set up as a auxiliary tc.
Have you played this game? That is simply not true. You should always face Solar panels North. (If not NE for early power, sacrificing night a bit more) If you face Solar towards the center of the map you get differing results based on where you are. North is always true.
@@quill9617 point solar panels towards centre of the map is outdated, now is based on sun's angle and where you are in the rust calendar (may 2024 by default), so you should place it to North Check Sigbog video again
They are to easy to destroy....... Also, people can just snipe front door with explosive ammo and destroy battery once door is down. Square in middle with 4 triangles on side (+ mill on top and backup battery) is bare minimum to make it work.
your better using double doors for suprise turret attacks garage doors open way to slowly doubles are instant also if you make a pizza shape with triangle foundations you can fit a turret in each section and close up each section with jail fance so they cant all be taken out at once.
The video was good, but your voice volume is like 3x lower than the game sounds so we can barely hear it. I suggest you make your voice over louder compared to game sound next time. good luck.
That could be the smart thing to do, and most cost effective overall, but I think just taking out the sensors it the cheapest for what you might need. However, there are a lot of fiveheads out there who would spend the 4+ rockets for the doors and turrets etc.
Take out the door with rockets, incend the inside, tc gone battery gone. No more defence, any decent raider would instantly know what it is, might slow them down.
Slowing them down and wasting their raiding resources is also an advantage of this machine , not necessarily to kill as trap. I will do improvment for this and share them in my next video's , stay tuned!
@@aaronash8571 well i think the solar panels arent getting enough power, should i place it where the sun is going down or coming up? (server only has 5 minute nights)
My issue is the last branch isnt getting power to control the door controllers. I have hooked it up and disconnected it like 4 times. Everything works great except the doors dont open. Idk what i did 😩
To have all that electric work just in 1 rocket and few explo ammo to break it all looks kind of pointless maybe that door should be garage door or something better..

You can rocket splash damage all three turrets, it's better to put them separated
Lol not even that. 1 HV can take out the door controllers and render the entire thing useless. Terrible design
@@fiddlepants5947 What are you smoking, door controllers are 5 HV's
@@ohgoditsjames94 ahh, 1 reg rocket
does this not work on console? I've done this step by step but it doesn't work for me. idk what im missing
Can it be remote controlled
Yes , check my new video auto turret v3 .
I did this with 2 turrets and someone managed to use one turret to shoot the other turret. Also incendiary rockets instantly wipe this set up because of how slow the garage doors roll down. Just my experience, but this is a good set up as a auxiliary tc.
So if I blow 1 sheet metal door and use one HV I get 3 free turrets and a bunch of bolts... nice!
your circuit link is down, do you have it anywhere else?
Yes i have new circuit , im working on new model for the machine with new features , i will include the schematic circuit in the video this time.
1 incin rocket, 3 turrets? I like that math.
you dont place solar panels towards the sun btw, you place it towards the centre of the map
Have you played this game? That is simply not true. You should always face Solar panels North. (If not NE for early power, sacrificing night a bit more) If you face Solar towards the center of the map you get differing results based on where you are. North is always true.
@@akzorz9197 yeah ive got 1.5k hours, last time i checked you should always place solar powers to the centre of the map, sigbog made a video on it
@@akzorz9197 yeah i just double checked, you are wrong and what you said is simply not true
@@quill9617 point solar panels towards centre of the map is outdated, now is based on sun's angle and where you are in the rust calendar (may 2024 by default), so you should place it to North
Check Sigbog video again
@@AlexNeverbd oh okay thank you
Place a few at spawn beaches xD
They are to easy to destroy....... Also, people can just snipe front door with explosive ammo and destroy battery once door is down.
Square in middle with 4 triangles on side (+ mill on top and backup battery) is bare minimum to make it work.
Проблема заключается в том, что за дневное время панели не заполнят батарею, 20 - 23 энергии тратятся постоянно, атака бомжей высадят акб в ноль.
your better using double doors for suprise turret attacks garage doors open way to slowly doubles are instant also if you make a pizza shape with triangle foundations you can fit a turret in each section and close up each section with jail fance so they cant all be taken out at once.
Put bolty in them
Or Python never sar
New sub bro
cool
all that wiring behind 1 stone wall
The video was good, but your voice volume is like 3x lower than the game sounds so we can barely hear it. I suggest you make your voice over louder compared to game sound next time. good luck.
3 hvs and they’re all gone no?
Who got a schematic for the newbs here?
" just like this " xd
Imagine 2 floors of this madness hahahaha no one will survive hahahaha
What is the server called
So, shoot the door out then shoot the battery out
🤔
That could be the smart thing to do, and most cost effective overall, but I think just taking out the sensors it the cheapest for what you might need. However, there are a lot of fiveheads out there who would spend the 4+ rockets for the doors and turrets etc.
Take out the door with rockets, incend the inside, tc gone battery gone. No more defence, any decent raider would instantly know what it is, might slow them down.
Slowing them down and wasting their raiding resources is also an advantage of this machine , not necessarily to kill as trap. I will do improvment for this and share them in my next video's , stay tuned!
That’s not how you position solar panels btw
For me building it, I dont have enough power to maintain the power consumed. big sad
Do excactly as i did and it should work good
@@aaronash8571 well i think the solar panels arent getting enough power, should i place it where the sun is going down or coming up? (server only has 5 minute nights)
My issue is the last branch isnt getting power to control the door controllers. I have hooked it up and disconnected it like 4 times. Everything works great except the doors dont open. Idk what i did 😩
You can just get dropped off on top by a heli, raid 1 door and the base and turrets are yours.. not very secure.
Legend
To have all that electric work just in 1 rocket and few explo ammo to break it all looks kind of pointless maybe that door should be garage door or something better..
This idea is OP but please take more time to explain how to connect everything for stupid people like me... lol
Need PHD in rust electrical engineering to follow this
Lol
sars are bad to put in a turret tho no? Reduced dmg compared to python or bolty
it's up to you , you can also put silencers to make it more stealth if you build this machine in bushes
@@aaronash8571 ive never seen bushes 10 metres high in rust
@@azder4140 can use trees also
