Thanks everyone for 10K views on the video! I'm very busy with university stuff these days. If I manage to squeeze out some time in the future, I'll make another educational video, perhaps about China this time, where I now am.
The funny thing is that the corridor between Toronto and Quebec is the perfect example to build a high-speed line, I hope they build it. Greatings from Spain 👋🇪🇦🇪🇺
A really amazing job. I just visited Canadian Railway Museum last Sunday, and will bring some kids in Summer camp to there. I'll also play this video in classroom.
The Via Dayliner on Vancouver Island shut down in 2011 due to the condition of the track. It was promised to be running again in 2015, yet it still isn’t running 8 years later
Awesome documentary! Very professionally done. I just got a question; that video of the CN freight train taken at the beginning with that nice view of the hill in the backdrop and the pond in the foreground, is that park/nature trail just off of Twyn Rivers Drive in Scarborough near the Toronto Zoo?
Thanks! Yes, that is Rouge Park, which is the park you are mentioning about. Across from the zoo, you can walk along the long road across the valley, which leads to a scenic railway crossing where you can take pictures of trains.
I want to congratulate you on your pronounciation of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. Having the military base and the military college here, I can attest that it's quite a challenge for anglophones to pronounce the name of our town. Also great video 👍
They just abandoned a railway that ran between Mississauga and Orangeville which are two pretty populated, busy and growing areas so I would say we’re declining
With the demise of Greyhound in Canada, there are some areas that are hard to reach.. For example, if I wanted to go to my hometown, I would now need to rent a car and drive 1600KM, fly to Thunder Bay *then* rent a car, or just do the Google Maps tour... The train that would go closest to my hometown stops for 24 hours in Sudbury, and stops in White River.. It would be nice to see an option in Northwestern Ontario again...

Really great video! Hope for a bright future ahead.
I’m a railroad nerd but I also work there so it’s cool seeing all of it first hand.

You seriously need more views and subscribers, nicely covered and great oration.

Another fact about the turbo: on the press run, it struck a meat truck outside Kingston.

Owen Sound Ontario has a Rail & Marine Museum
The United States, G7 member, doesn't have high-speed rail yet, they are building some lines.
Brightline is a privately owned LRT in FL.
The go train looked cool when I was a kid. Via just looked old
For me VIA is old school rather than old fashioned or outdated. The cars still look sleek and modern to me
When people start properly washing their armpits and using deodorant... I'll consider using the train and bus again.
Until then, forget it.
See why Gramma said I can never see him again it wasn't only music n sports it is trains
This is basically the U.S. Rail history on a smaller scale.
Passenger train is a disgrace in Canada.
