Where have you been all my life? This is my first vid ive seen from you and im upset RUclips didn't show me to you sooner! So cool dude! I'm here to stay👍🏾
In my 20s i owned such a huge one and it produced flowers and fruits. It grew like crazy and turned my appartement in a jungle . After years enjoying it i chopped it up because i had no more light coming in only leafs in front of windows. Bought a little one a month ago and it is making itts 4th new leaf already. Really enjoy them. Thanks for your vids, they are very informative! Just subscribed!
What do you do if your cuttings start to mold in the sphagnum ? Should I wash and start over or is it too late? Can I root in perlite or any other medium that isn't as prone to this issue?? Thanks for your time!
Mold is generally an airflow issue. You could open the container more frequently. Copper spray can help assuming it's just mold and not rot. Many mediums can be prone to mold with no airflow. Yes change out the medium.
Since stems don't really photosynthesize as well as leaves do I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make. But now you have me questioning if enough heat and humidity can be provided in complete darkness would this experiment still work? 🤔 Great question.
I think I know the answer, but perhaps you can educate me. If those bare node cuttings had at least some aerial roots that had hit soil and begun the root process before cutting does their chance of success go up massively? I recently chopped up my deliciosas to add poles, but I used that as an opportunity to chop them and some of the cuttings are now leafless but attaches to either the primary root bundle or have a very well established aerial root that had rooted in soil.
Generally you do need a leaf but if the stem has enough stored sugars it can be enough to produce roots into a growing medium and put out new leaves! As long as the conditions are right.
Tip for using LECA - stay at a low concentration of seedling mix until you start to see leaves.
what soil do you use sir?thanks for the answer 😊

Thanknyou on the helpful tip about removing as much sphagnum moss as possible from the roots before transplanting. It makes a lot of sense.

Awesome information! You answered all my questions that i had after watching other videos
You've got a good vibe. Thanks for sharing your knowledge from a recently new monstara owner.
Thank you. Now I know that I really have to be patient and just take care of them.
These are one of my favourite plants. Thanks Lee!
Wow! This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing!
You can also use cinnamon powder if you are not having a rooting hormone
Great detailed tutorial
Glad you liked it. Thanks for commenting!
When you use LECA do you keep the basket in a dish of water?
This is so interesting!
I love your videos, thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks for leaving a comment. Glad you enjoyed!
Hey! I’ve water propagated from stem cuttings took about 2 months to get leaves.

Yes change out the medium.
Wait it's possible to propagate leafless stems? It usually didn't work for me, at least it didn't with my pothos! Thanks for sharing!
It's possible! High humidity and keeping the moss consistently moist is key. This does work with pothos as well.
Very useful info. Thx!
What if I turned my wetstick dark brown? Can it be saved?
Is this similar for a deliciosa? My baby deliciosa is having some issues and I think I’m losing it.
You can use exactly the same method for deliciosa
New subscriber here too ❤
How is it possible for it to grow without a leaf ?
It has stored energy and also the stem is still able to photosynthesize just at a much lower rate.
Can this method work for Albo cuttings?
Yes, absolutely
@@KillThisPlant thank you so much!! I love your videos!! Super helpful!!

No link for the soil mix
He made his own with the items he stated
Do you think grow lights would have helped the cuttings? A consistent schedule of light?

You are correct
@@KillThisPlant Awesome! Cant wait for spring now. multiple monstera pots "reset" waiting to fill back out
I will try this with my pothos, cuz my monstera monkey leaf is still to small 😂
Great idea. This works really well for pothos too.
40 days ?? ( stares at my sad 10 day old cuttings)
I thought you needed a leaf you get sun light.
