I’ll never forget the recording when he was on the phone with Amber telling her he was having a great time in Paris when instead he was at a vigil for Laci. Such a disgusting man. I also really applaud Amber for her role in working with the authorities and speaking out publicly.
I believe Amber was an innocent bystander to all of this. She probably felt terrible for a long time over this. She may have felt guilty for years.
@@terryKessler42719 - Amber was just a young, single woman looking for a meaningful relationship. I felt very badly for her. He was playing her too.

I will never get over that picture of Laci and her beautiful smile attending a Christmas party alone while Scott was at a different Christmas party with Amber. He is an evil man.
Well she had precious Connor 🍼
But yeah, I get what you mean.
I have a little baby girl right now, and I never considered myself alone when I was pregnant with her 👶🏻💗
Omg that' what those 2 photos were !! 😢 😮
It makes sense now and it's so disgusting
Laci put on blinders and was determined to have that baby. She may have harbored doubts about her marriage but could not have imagined he would snuff her out at their very home. I find this story a true horror story! Scott was empty inside, a narcissist and psychopath, that, like Chris Watts, went after the next shiny object, proving only that these sick individuals think they can outsmart others, leaving lives in ruins and tragedy in their wake.
You all need to learn to think for yourselves. You, like everyone else, has no evidence he committed any crime.
@@scottmattern482 Okay Scott...........
I think he never loved Laci, never wanted a child, never wanted to be a family man and in the end he was just another sociopath who thought he could get away with murder
And the sad thing is he stayed in a relationship that he did not want. Why get married if you don't really want the relationship?
I think being with Amber blew his mind sexually. That mighty powerful V rocked his world that he went and done an evil thing. Not Amber’s fault. Careful guys.
He didn’t want a baby. That’s why they waited 4 years to try to have a baby.
@@jessiewong-q3bThe video said that they had fertility problems. If he did not want children he should have gotten a vasectomy.
@@teeahtate The victims of these crimes, lovely, loving, dynamic and successful women like Laci, Shanann, Kelsey and far too many other murdered women to name here, means they are actively targeted (known as 'love bombing'), and for a time prized, by dangerous narcissistic abusers and latterly killers like Scott Peterson, Chris Watts and Patrick Frazee.
The problem is, these highly dysfunctional, dangerous men are incapable of feeling real love for any other sentient being. So after the initial 'love bombing' phase in which they work hard to hook the woman, and make her fall in love with/become emotionally attached to them, they inevitably tire of her.
Once they've won her, they're bored and seek the thrill of a new chase - the second stage of the 'Cycle of Narcissistic Abuse' is called the 'De-valuing' phase. Then the victim begins to see the abuser's true colours, as her previously warm and devoted lover cruelly 'de-values', insults, ridicules and generally withdraws affection and respect from her.
Baffled at their partner's sudden cold indifference, they typically blame themselves for him turning on them, feeling they must have disappointed this wonderful man for him to change from the wonderful guy they first knew. The truth is, he was never the wonderful man they thought he was! In reality, phase two is his true, ugly nature finally emerging! But abusers target empaths, and empath women are quick to blame themselves and take full responsibility when a relationship fails.
The final and most chilling stage of the 'Cycle of Narcissistic Abuse' is called the 'Final Discard'. In most cases, this manifests as the abuser rejecting the victim in the most sadistic and gratuitously cruel way they can think of. They may move out of the shared home without warning, so the victim returns home from work expecting a romantic night in with a bottle of wine and a take out meal - but finds their lover and most of the furniture/contents missing, without even a goodbye note.
In the darkest, most twisted cases of narcissistic abuse, the 'Final Discard' is the duped partner, and possibly any children of that doomed relationship's, murder/s. Be very, very careful who you give your heart to!
Wow I just realized just how similar Scott Peterson & Chris Watts are. They were both the youngest, "star" child, spoiled & overly praised growing up, quiet & rarely showed emotion, were having affairs, & both killed their pregnant wives while having financial troubles. Crazy.
They both fit the description of exactly the kind of guy that commits familicide.
Spot on totally
@@lamiya900 That was a really horrible case.

I don’t think it was just about the baby, it was about wanting to be free of both of them and her family and the financial responsibility that was cutting into his playboy ways.
@ams14691 I believe the exact same thing you do. Can you imagine a man, not only killing his wife, but his unborn son as well. There is definitely something mentally wrong with Scott Peterson for doing this. He's a psychopath at the least!

He killed her. He planned it. He bought the boat to accomplish the deed.
And the best part is that it was a FRESHWATER boat. So if it was in salt water the engine would corrode. Add that to the freshwater tackle he had on him … what a joke
@Siyanibingelela It's an aluminum boat, genius. Aluminum boats are great in salt water. Outboards are also designed for fresh water and salt water. Brocchini testified that Scott had, in the boat, 2 fishing rods and a small tackle box which contained old fishing jigs and lures. The boat came equipped with a fish finder and a small trolling motor. So, Scott had everything with him necessary to troll fish, which is what he said he was doing.
He had forgotten some new lures in truck. The main reason he took the boat out was try out.
Brocchini: Did you buy bait?
Scott: Nope, I'm not a bait fisherman.
Brocchini: Did you troll?
Scott: Little bit. I mean a lot of, lot of the reason I went was just to get that boat in the water to see, you know ---

Harshman Grogan testimony
GERAGOS: And they have witnessed the incident, and don't know if they have called Modesto PD yet or not, correct?
GROGAN: Correct.
GERAGOS: Okay.
JUDGE: Does he say what time of the day that was?
GERAGOS: This was at 10:08?
GROGAN: That would be 10:08 a.m.
GERAGOS: So, at this point, Mr. Harshman has called on the 28th at 6:50 said he saw a woman being forced into a van, gave a description of the van. Then approximately two months later a New York City police detective says, I have talked to, presumably, Harshman's wife who may have witnessed the incident, correct?
GROGAN: Yes. He got the information from a friend of Miss Harshman's, Mr. Harshman's wife, I believe.
GERAGOS: Okay. And specifically you contacted him on May 18th, 2004, correct?
GROGAN: Yes.
GERAGOS: And he, when you contacted him, he told you that the same day he called into the police department. You put it down at 12:28, right?
GROGAN: Yes, based on that tip.
GERAGOS: I don't think you ever saw this. I'm just going to show this to you. When I went through the tip lines, at 14789, it looks like somebody called in, but the name that was written down was Thomas Harsh. Do you see that?
GROGAN: I see it.
GERAGOS: Okay. You hadn't seen that before right now, had you?
GROGAN: No.
GERAGOS: Okay. It says, reporting that three or four days ago he saw a pregnant lady being pushed into a van. Caller given to Detective Holmes. You were not aware that Harsh had indicated that it was three or four days prior to the 28th when he had actually phoned in; isn't that correct?
GROGAN: No, I don't think so.
GERAGOS: Okay. This is the first time that you have seen that, because when the caller, whoever took down the information, they just wrote Harsh as opposed to Harshman, correct?
GROGAN: Correct.
GERAGOS: Okay. And he said that he, specifically, on the same day that he had called in, he had seen a van parked on the south side of Scenic, west of Claus, which he described as a 70s, American-made model, beige in color, correct?
GROGAN: Is that the tip that you are reading from top?
GERAGOS: No. I'm at 4527.

This is true. You cannot change people (unless they want to change themselves) and they only get worse over time. Raising children is NOT easy, most men don't help much, don't expect them to. My husband was almost zero help, (he might have washed a few bottles that's all I can remember him doing) we had twins. I was told I likely could never get pregnant, the pregnancy almost killed me, I'm 5'1" and weighed around 105 pounds at the time). I also worked. The resentment builds up until you can't take much more. He did whatever he wanted to do regardless of what we needed. You DO NOT want this kind of husband, especially with children. My mother is the one who helped me the most.

-Conner (baby) was determined to be alive until Jan 3rd by both the States expert and the Medical examiner? Furthermore, Dr Charles March testified there is no way that Scott and Laci Peterson's unborn baby could have died any earlier than Dec. 29, 2002. Dr Allison Galloway determined the baby could have even been alive as far along as Jan 14th. So how is he guilty if Laci was alive after the 24th?
-How did Conners body end above the water break and high tide line if he was in the ocean?
-How did his left ear get permanently flattened against his head and a rectangular piece of material was over it?
-Why was their no animal feeding on Conner whatsoever?
- How did plastic wrap get knotted around his neck that had to be cut off, not far from a plastic bag which was never tested? Dr. Cyril Wecht, who examined Conner's body but who did not testify, told Greta van Susteren that Conner's head measured 28 cm circumference and his neck measured 20 cm (On the Record, October 27, 2004). 28 cm = 11.02360 inches; 20 cm = 7.87400 inches. He confirmed the measurements in another interview with Fox News, and expressed his disbelief that the twine accidentally wrapped around Conner's neck. He also conjectured about the baby being in a bag.
-Why was Laci's uterus was at least 10 cm (3.9") smaller than it should have been? Certainly explains why the incision to remove Conner was not visible on her body, and the injured 9th rib, postmortem injury is in the same location where such an incision would have been made.
-Why did police ignore evidence, tips and sightings that points in a completely different direction?
Isn't it standard police practice to track down a missing person's last known whereabouts? It's not like they didn't have credible eyewitnesses that seen her walking on the 24th. Some called multiple times. Police ignored them. Sounds like tunnel vision and incompetence led to her death since the science proves she was alive after that day.
- Why was there no cadaver scent if Laci had been dead in the boat, warehouse, truck or home?
Explain please be exact
I don't think Scott loved Laci any longer, or maybe he never did. I believe Scott wanted to get rid of Laci and Connor, not just Connor. He wanted to be free, but he also didn't want to pay alimony to Laci and child support for Connor. This is an extremely sad story for Laci, Connor, and Laci's family and friends. What's odd to me is the fact that he actually believed he could get by with it. An evil, stupid man.
Man child!
People with narcissistic traits tend to think they can talk their way out of things. Look how many court cases we’ve seen that in lately. Amber Heard, Sarah Boone, Jessy Kurzewski (sp?), Courtney Clenney, Kouri Richins, Darrell Brooks. They have no self awareness or accountability
Plus he dyed his hair, had his brother's ID and cash on him, survival gear, no doubt was head to the border. How stupid can you get? He never even opened the lures he said he used.
Scott didn't like being tied down. A wife, he could divorce. A baby would have meant 18 years of child support.
That's what I'll never understand it takes 2
He could have been honest with her and told her he didn't want to settle down but he chose to marry and procreate e
With her so I guess he couldn't be honest with anyone not even himself
Murdering her and his own kid is the worst way to get out of it. Just man up dude, you married her and then impregnated her. Why would anyone think it’s ok to take her life and his child’s life because he changed his mind? That’s just so sick. Like there’s people out there that would give anything to marry a girl as beautiful and by all accounts, as loving and nice as her, let alone be able to father a child of their own. So ungrateful and psychotic, ugh. Get a part-time job if the child support is too much to bear, ya bum.
And this is when a woman says “you are free to go. I don’t want anything from you” I bet men who kill their wives is bc the wives fight a separation or divorce. Threatened to take everything away from them. N there’s no way a woman cannot know her man well enough to know what he is capable of doing. Evil doesn’t hide. Eventually you can see the devil. He stares back you. You just need to pay attention and not ignore the signs
My x is just like Scott
@@blancao5988god your dumb when it comes to narcissism and domestic abuse.
Yep, Aphrodite is right. He didn’t want the baby and was threatened by it. He even said something to the effect after Laci became pregnant. He told someone in the family that he was hoping for infertility. When someone tells you who they really are, listen.
And this report said there was infertility problems, wonder what that really was about…so sad for a woman who wanted to become a mom and has not the best husband material to be the father 😢 Sadly we see this so much.
So true
But, it is confusing because he still had sex with her and got her pregnant. He stayed in the marriage. He knew she wanted to be a Mom, so why not divorce her? Just strange. His time was running out because she had a doctor's appointment. He was getting pressure from the affair, so he did a terrible thing. So sad.
@@teeahtate I heard Laci knew he cheated on her in college but still refused to see the red flags. We have to stop raising our little girls to be too nice and show them the red flags early on. Show them what boundaries look like and encourage them to have strong boundaries. Show them to respect themselves by not accepting anything less than what they know they deserve. No one deserves to be lied to, to be gaslit and to be manipulated. It does nothing for us women to be obedient to a man. It does nothing for us women to "stand by your man" when we know he lies and cheats on us. If an open marriage is what two people want, then that's fine, at least they are open to honesty with one another, however, we know that most men are double standard and won't allow their women to be with another man, but it's all good when they do it, right? That's not an honest relationship between two people. And that's also a red flag.
They rarely change. In fact, they usually get worse over time.
All he had to do is divorce her and sign his rights away. This case has always made me so sad
But doesn't the wife have to allow him to sign his rights away? I thought if a woman wanted child support she could force him to pay?
He'd lose half the house etc
"...sign his rights away". LOL As if that were possible. There isn't a woman alive that would give up free child extortion payments for 20 years and the opportunity to "get even" with the man that doesn't want her anymore. Ask yourself..... why is it that a woman can 'drop off" unwanted babies at a "safe haven" location, but if a man were to try that, he'd be in handcuffs and charged with all manner of felonies tout de suite?

@@pixels2u Why would he plan on going to the busiest marina to dump a body in boat he has never had in the water before in thr middle of the day? Her body was never duped in the bay. The water is on average 3 - 4 deep.
How did the uterus 'tear' open over time? If so, why was there no animal feeding or any sign Conner was ever in the bay? Should we really believe Conner would make it through the rocks and so far up on to shore. The supposed track was a hazardous journey. Yet the only damage (a 'tear') was supposed to have been made by the police trying to pick it up.
The cut or tear in the uterus makes 'coffin birth' impossible. The only ways in which a baby can be released from the mother is by birth or by C-section. Since testimony was offered that Laci didn't give birth to Conner, then we must assume that someone cut him from her living body.

Conner could not have washed ashore from any direction under the conditions that existed on April 13. The water level produced by the 5.88 high tide simply did not produce a waterway to carry him to where he was found. And he was beyond the debris line, which means that he was not pushed back to where he was found by the breaking waves.
The SF Medical examine told the lead detective that it would be highly unlikely that 32 lbs would submerge the body. It would just float. He also said the currents would likely take the body out to sea. She was found nearly 4 months later. How do currents flowing Southbound at 4 knots place either body where they were found.

Plastic wrap knotted around his neck that had to be cut off, not far from a plastic bag which was never tested. The criminologist and medical examiner, both concluded that the twine could not have wrapped around Conner’s neck accidentally. Dr. Cyril Wecht noted, "never in a million years."
Laci had a missing neck that is not consistent with any known disarticulation in aqueous environments.

It easier to fool 1000 people than convince 1 person they've been fooled. Fruit for thought
Terrible. I am firmly convinced that when I was younger I dated someone who was a sociopath who thought along the lines of Scott Peterson. When my gut told me to break it off my father warned me - he said, “I have worked on a naval shipyard with all types of men, and I’m telling you that I know this type. When you leave your house , the gym, the grocery store… you look 360 around you. I don’t care if 3 years have passed, he will come back around.” My father was right , but I knew at that point exactly how to handle the situation. I have since learned the art of self defense and I am legally registered to own a firearm. These types are psychopaths and extremely dangerous.
Scot Peterson reminds me of Chris Watts, although Watts also murdered his two Daughters, wife and unborn Child, he also cheated on his wife.
I think you're on to something. Watts first tried to cause his wife to have a miscarriage. For whatever reason, they were both against the idea of having a son.
They're family annihilators so of course there are similarities.
70% of married men cheat on their wives (Kinsey) so it means nothing.
Certainly parallels. Like Laci, if not for her pregnancy - they may both still be alive. However, we’ll never know.
@@mizconti Laci's death had noting to do with her pregnancy. It is totally down to the high level of criminality in Modesto, at the time the car theft capital of the US and a city with a horrendous problem with violent home invasion. it was once judged the worst city in the entire US. Out of 100,000 husbands, Kinsey reported about 70,000 would cheat on their wives. Only around 2 per 100,000 would murder them. No connection at all.
Scott Peterson is a monster. Period! It appears Laci was completely enthralled by his looks and could not bear to leave him. She probably thought the baby would “fix “everything.
He shouldn’t have sought treatment for infertility. Do you think the doctor told him he was the reason they couldn’t get pregnant? That would tick him off. How dare they question his manhood. And perhaps Laci mentioned his problem with infertility and that wasn’t a discussion he wanted to have. So evidently he wanted to prove he was a stud by having multiple affairs. What a slimy little guy.
I absolutely agree that Laci was captivated by Scott's looks ignoring the red flags. Sadly, it cost her life being married to a narcissist.
Yep, sounds like it. She gave him her number. I think she really was into him, but maybe he was not that same way with her. It is sad, because he could have just left her alone. Really sad.
And......that never works. It only gets worse. People are what they are, they rarely change.
It always makes things worse. It is NOT easy raising children. If a man is not selfless, they aren't going to be much help. Believe me, I know. VERY few men step up and do as much as women do with the children. Be forewarned. All those nights getting no sleep, changing diapers,....most men can't do it.
I was pregnant the same time as Laci and I remember feeling so bad about her and her baby. I feel like he did it because he didn’t want the responsibility of being a father. He was probably irritated being a husband and it would only get worse in his eyes. He didn’t want to grow up.
Oh, I am confident he just wanted to sleep with other women or be with Ashley. Chris Watts, the dentist from Utah as well as that other woman that poisoned her husband… countless examples
He should either not have gotten married or discussed the children thing with Laci. Beyond tragic. He was a sick man.
He didn’t wanna grow up is correct. He still hasn’t grown up. What makes me sick besides the death of Laci and Connor is all the money that has been spent for his appeals. And the comment that Scott could have been in a book about the stupidest criminal is so true, the stuff he did was very easy to put him right up there as her murderer. Sad.
He was just a POS never happy! May she RIP🌹
I had just moved to Sacramento, CA when I was home during the day. I watched part of Laci's memorial, and what a sad event, they played "Brown Eyed Girl" and a little boy came up to the podium and told the audience that he missed Laci because she helped him with his homework. Like the Solstice stated, he wanted to be free of Laci and her child. The psychopath that he is not sorry he killed Laci, nor is he sad about what occurred in their home that ended up with Laci being murdered. He did it. All of the eyewitnesses who saw Laci were debunked based on their descriptions of what she wore / where she was located. Nothing added up. Scott also told everyone he was going golfing that morning but had prepaid for his boat to be launched in the Bay. Why lie? Also, why did he come in, see the dog on its leash in the backyard, his wife’s car in the driveway and then take off his clothes, wash them, shower, eat pizza before realizing something was wrong??? HE DIDNT call the cops, her stepfather did. He should have been the first to alert police. Lastly, his boat was a fresh water boat. Why take it into the salt water bay? It would ruin the engine. And all of the fishing gear he had was designed for fresh water fishing. He’s a lying POS who deserved the death penalty. There may not have been a smoking gun but the affair, his lies, and his sloppiness is what got him and he is in the right place. RIP Connor and Laci. It breaks my heart when people call Connor a fetus. He was a viable full term baby and he deserves to be here now! Also her cervix and how it was examined in her autopsy proves that Connor was not cut out of her body. He was expelled due to decomposition. He is guilty as sin.

If Mr. I-Want-Bachelorhood-Forever had just stayed with Laci and accepted being a father, he would have had Laci's mother and stepfather as constant babysitters and be a millionaire! Laci stood to inherit millions of dollars from her grandfather's estate. This stupid man had everything - and he threw it away! Connor would be 20 years old today.
That's not how guys like this operate: the people in their lives are just Weebles, playthings. Once they have outlived their usefulness and/or shiny qualities (Laci's focus from fawning wife to all-encompassing motherhood and a third person coming along), Scott wanted to throw this set of Weebles away and start over. The only way these people know how to do this is to kill. Besides, even grandparents get tired of kids, and don't want them 24/7.

He did. Amber Frey was not his only fling. While he was at Cal Poly, he was finishing his last couple to years when he was with a woman by the name of Janet. On one night Janet surprised Scott and Laci in bed together in a house that was shared with some of Scott’s classmates. A treasure trove of incriminating evidence against S Todd and G Pearce existed. information about any investigation of this tip. Lt. Aponte gave a signed statement to defense investigators which said the prisoner had been interviewed by MPD, and that MPD had received a copy of the taped phone conversation. Instead of this information being disclosed during discovery. The only information provided to the defense about his tip was a simple notation on a CD which included 10,000 other tips about the case.
-Merlin, the trailing dog owned by Cindee Valentin, trailed Laci's scent to the Gallo Winery in the airport district, on the night of December 26. Not far from the burglars residence.
-December 31, a gold Croton watch, identical to Laci’s watch which disappeared the same day she did, was pawned by Deanna Renfro. Highly unlikely this is just a coincidence.
It gets better. The families of Deanna Renfro, Steven Todd and the Tenbrinks know one another.
-Diane Jackson reported seeing 3 men with a VAN and a SAFE in front of the Medina’s house at 11:40 a.m. on December 24. There is no debating this. The burglary happened the same day Laci disappeared. Both Todd and Pearce pled guilty to burglary charges 12-24-02. They both received reduced sentences.
- S Todd would have received 25 years for his third offense. So why did he get 8 years and 8 months, far less than 25 years. Pearce received only 180 days, yet he was another career criminal.
-Tom Harshman, who lived in Modesto, was driving with Elizabeth Harshman between 2 and 4 p.m. on the afternoon of December 24. He saw a young pregnant woman being forced into a van. He turned around and went back to the spot hoping to find the van still there and hoping to get more information about the license plate number. But they were gone.
1. He called police (911 MPD) that same day.
2. Tried again December 28.
3. December 28, he also called the Laci tip line twice. His first call on this date was listed incorrectly under the name Harsh and was given Bates Stamp number 14789. The call was given to Detective Holmes. Harsh(man) said that he had called 3 or 4 days earlier on the day that he had seen a pregnant young woman being pushed into a van. There had been a man standing over her as she squatted to urinate with her back up against a chain-link fence. The man was described as 30’s, tall, thin, with ponytail, dirty blonde to gray hair, scrubby looking. When she finished, the woman was shepherded back to the driver’s door of the car, where another man’s arm was seen pulling her into the car. He said the young woman was wearing black pants and a red shirt. He said she had a scared look on her face."
4. Jan 3rd, he went to the Command Post in the park and relayed this to the officer on duty. Over
40,000 pages in the discovery and nothing about this report was in it.
5. February 2003, Harshman’s wife spoke to a relative of hers who lived in New York about the sighting of Laci Peterson near the corner of Scenic and Claus. Mrs. Harshman’s relative shared this story with an NYPD detective. This NYPD detective was so concerned that he contacted the MPD and spoke personally to Detective Grogan on February 14, 2003. What did Grogan do with the information? Nothing at all
6. pre-trial hearings in May of 2004, DA Investigator Kevin Bertalotto noticed the Harshman tip and insisted that Grogan call Tom Harshman and speak to him personally. Grogan did this on May 18, 2004.
An audiotape and a transcription of his conversation with Harshman to the defense on May 20, 11 days before the beginning of the trial.

I think it was about the baby too, but not the lack of attention on himself. He was used to that, that’s why he had affairs. When it first happened, I was talking with a local news reporter behind the scene. It was at that point I decided that he had something to do with it. No decent man drives 80+ miles away (160 miles RT) and leaves an 8 mos pregnant wife at home alone on Christmas Eve. That, in an of itself proved it to me (and most people). Years later, I watched a Netflix documentary about the trial and a noticed that someone in my extended social group had been on the jury. When I asked him about the "verdict" his response was that "we wanted to make a statement that killing your wife was illegal in California." For me, have Mark Geregos as his defense council was also proof of his guilt. Geregos only defends guilty clients. Scott deserves to rot in hell for eternity.
She had a month and a half to go before her delivery date. He had left her alone every work day before that as he went on his selling trips to farms all over the area. And if he HAD told Laci about Frey as he claimed, she may well have wanted him out of the house for the day. There are American men who travel into the interior of Canada for a few days fishing which takes a combination of plane trips over an extended time. His actions were totally reasonable.
I totally and unequivcally disagree. No decent man drives from Modesto to the Berkeley Marina on Chirstmas Eve and leaves his heavily pregnant wife behind.

So that he went to do an activity at that stage of pregnancy doesn't surprise me; plus it was during the day; she supposedly wasn't going to be alone on Christmas eve evening. I also think it is possible that he told Laci about Amber Frey; and it could have been presented simply as a physical outlet for him (whether Laci liked it or not.) Laci stayed with him after she found out he cheated before (when they were living separately.) Still, there is something extremely odd about Scott Peterson; he seemed removed from the idea that his plan (if there were one) might fail. He strikes me as being very stupid, but was he? Or was he just "even if I am suspected, no one can prove anything" which is more arrogance rather than stupidity. I think his friends from his high school to college to early employment days could have shed light on his personality and values; yet I have read and seen and heard very little of that.
I hope you never get selected for a jury if you think him fishing on Christmas Eve while his wife was pregnant "proved it".

This is the most concise and clear restatement of this case I've seen so far. Great job. And it indeed may be true that it was mostly about Connor. There is some indication that Laci was ill during the pregnancy because Scott was poisoning her in order to induce a miscarriage. (After all, he had access to many chemicals due to his work in the fertilizer industry.) It didn't work, and Scott had boxed himself into so many corners that he felt he needed to kill them both before the delivery of the baby. It may be that had he been successful in causing Laci to lose the baby, he would not have felt the need to resort to killing her, too. However, to work oneself into enough of a rage to kill your loving, innocent wife with your own bare hands, and at Christmas, too, HAS to imply a certain amount of at least hidden violent hatred of the victim, whether or not it's defined as sociopathy.
That's wild I thought I knew this case very well but I never connected the dots with her being ill during the pregnancy and possible poisoning.
Wow, that’s interesting, and I bet he worried that he had caused some developmental problems in Connor. All the more pressure for someone like him to do away with the pregnancy.
I def think he didn’t want lacy to have a baby!!
He wanted to get rid of his Wife. And by extension, the baby inside of her. He would've eventually killed her, and I guarantee there was long-term abuse that we don't know about (because she is dead). Killing them was just the next step in his calculated plan for "freedom".
This is one of the stupidest comments ever but typical of a case with no evidence of guilt anywhere.
The baby was too much responsibility. He wanted the perfect image but couldn’t handle real responsibility.
That TV interview he did was almost laughable!
I disagree with it being solely about, "his unborn son, 'Connor'." I think he was "tired of Laci and his marriage to her too." He was a "serial cheater." Why do men cheat? They want to "escape" their relationship for one reason or another and it has to do with the relationship they have with their spouse. He's surely "no golden boy?" What an unmotivated/unhappy guy . . . He wasn't "highly successful" in life; he was a fertilizer salesman. No offense to ANYONE; but, he wasn't a doctor, surgeon, lawyer, multi billionaire . . . His parent's view of their son in disgustingly inaccurate . . . He is a real lousy liar, not a clever criminal and an obvious murderer. DELUSIONAL . . .
I agree, Scott wanted to get rid of, Connor. Money & taking all attention away from him were both reasons. God knows what grief, Lacy put up with from, Scott. I think she loved him too much & accepted poor treatment from him. God rest Lacy & Connors Souls.🕯💔🙏
I lived in California when this happened. It was HUGE news, and just as big when the bodies washed up the day after a huge storm hit.
It’s not that people think he’s innocent, it’s that the trial wasn’t fair. If he is tried again he will no doubt be found guilty. We must have fair trials no matter how much we believe a person is guilty.
I think he was trying to manage his facade as the perfect guy. Can’t do that if you’re divorced. He probably didn’t want to share attention with his son but it’s easier to kill the wife that ties you down than an infant; even for a sociopath. Shame on his family for refusing to see what he is.

The police had tunnel vision, they were biased and refused to look elsewhere. The judge was biased, the jury was biased ( grounds for an appeal) no matter what your opinion of this case? This is not how the justice system is supposed to work.
You need evidence for a death sentence trial, not gut feelings.
@@cannpdx781Scot did it,we should all know that!
@@LaurenKaminskihe was convicted of it, but people are allowed to continue to research the case, and come to different conclusions. how did scott kill her then and why?
Pregnant women are at great risk from other women. Look up Savanna LaFontaine-Greywind and see how many parallels there were.
My opinion is he didn't love Laci and didn't want to be a father. There is Chris Watts (devil man) and Scott both were having affairs and killed their wife I believe by strangulation, pure evil.
Brent Rocha confirmed that Scott did indeed plan to have a family, and was quite emotional about becoming a father:
Mark Geragos: And also fair to say that she was very excited about the kid?
Brent Rocha: Yes.
Mark Geragos: Okay. And Scott was as well?
Brent Rocha: Yes.
Mark Geragos: When he talked about, when you talked to him, he would express the fact that he's, I mean he's a goal-oriented person; you heard that description earlier today. You would agreed with that, right?
Brent Rocha: Yes.
Mark Geragos: And is, one of his goals was to have a child and a family?
Brent Rocha: Yes.
Mark Geragos: Okay. And he told you that he was thinking about what kind of father he was going to be and he was crying and he said he was going to be great; isn't that what he told you?
Brent Rocha: That's what he was saying.
Sharon Rocha confirmed, on Larry King Live, that Laci told her Scott had changed his mind about having a baby shortly after they moved to Covena in October 2002:
ROCHA: “that's when she told me that Scott had said that he didn't think he wanted to have children. Of course that concerned me because we'd had conversations before in his presence or they had had conversations in my presence about having children.
KING: So then it shocked you?
ROCHA: It did. It really surprised me.
KING: But then she got pregnant.
ROCHA: Well, then she went on to say that not only did she -- that he didn't think he wanted to have children, she also said that he didn't want to. So, I was -- I was really upset about that knowing that he knew how she felt about having children.
And then it was about a month or so later, it was around Thanksgiving time she and I were in the kitchen preparing dinner when she told me that she's going to stop taking birth control pills in December. Well, that surprised me because it had only been a month ago that Scott didn't want to have children.
So, we had a conversation about that and I said, "Are you sure? Are both of you absolutely sure because you can't put the baby back once he's here"? Well, it was an it at that time. It was nothing at that time. And she said, yes, that they had talked about it and they were ready that Scott was ready also.
Greg Reed gave testimony about Scott's and Laci's relationship, and Scott's participation in Laci's pregnancy.
HARRIS: You also, Kristen, your wife, became friends with Laci, is that fair?
REED: All four of us met at the same time.
HARRIS: And they became friends separate of you and Scott? Kristen and Laci became friends?
REED: Yes, they did.
HARRIS: And at some point you and your wife began a Lamaze class at your home, is that correct?
REED: That is correct.
HARRIS: And you asked Scott and Laci if they would like to join in the Lamaze class?
REED: That is correct.
HARRIS: And they agreed to do that, right?
REED: Yes.
HARRIS: Okay. During about a one month period, they came to your house on a weekly basis to participate in the Lamaze classes, is that right?
REED: That's probably about right. About once a week.
HARRIS: You got a chance to see them interact quite a bit during that, didn't you?
REED: Yes.
HARRIS: And your impression, from telling the police, your impression was that they were a very happy couple?
REED: Yes.
HARRIS: And, in fact, you told the police Scott treated her very, very well?
REED: Yes.
HARRIS: They both, I believe your quote to the police was they were both very excited about the baby coming, is that right?
REED: That's what it appeared, yes.
HARRIS: And you were called in an interview you did with the police, excuse me. Let me take that back. Do you recall an incident at one point where you were looking through a catalog called Cabella's catalog?
REED: Yes, I remember that.
HARRIS: What is the Cabella's catalog?
REED: It's a hunting, fishing, outdoors-type of magazine. And equipment.
HARRIS: And they actually sell kids' camouflage outfits, is that right?
REED: In that magazine they were.
HARRIS: In that particular one?
REED: Yes.
HARRIS: During that time you were looking at it, both you and Scott were going through the, the kids' section or the kids' outfits,
hunting and fishing, or whatever outfits, and the two of you were talking and laughing about how much you couldn't wait to buy your kids those kind of outfits, is that correct?
REED: I remember that clearly, that's correct.
HARRIS: Okay. Scott was very excited about that possibility, wasn't he?
REED: Yes.
Strangulation leaves forensic evidence. Every test done was negative. Cadaver dogs did not hit in any alleged crime scene, and yes, cadaver dogs can detect human decomposition shortly after death.

Very well done!
I agree with the summation-
he couldn't let a baby take away his attention 😢
Guilty as hell.
He calls himself Hottie Scottie. There’s something seriously wrong with this guy.
Heartbreaking crime. Why didn’t Scott just get a divorce if he didn’t love Laci anymore?
I'm never understand why husbands or wives never think they'll get caught when they're the first on the police when a spouse is murdered who would want to sit in a hot jail cell for the rest of their lives I'll never understand it never
Completely agree with you. The chances of getting away with killing your spouse are about as good as winning the lottery. And now with cameras everywhere and advanced DNA technology it’s almost impossible.
Husbands more so. Usually if women murder it’s because their in an abusive environment.
He didn't want to divorce her because of the financial impact and he didn't want to admit to anyone that he didn't want the baby. But if you listen when they were seeing each other, engaged and at the beginning of the marriage they both said they didn't want children. Looks like Laci changed her mind and they tried to get pregnant. It was at that point Scott should have just divorced her but again he would have lost half of what they had which wasn't much. A very sad story.
I watched the new Peacock documentary with Scott yesterday- I believe it’s the first time he’s spoken in 20years
One thing that I thought was very telling is when asked what he hoped to get out of speaking now, he said he wanted to make life easier for his family. He didn’t mention Lacy or Connor.
If your wife and child had been murdered, you’d been wrongly convicted… would you not want answers? To know who killed them? Justice for their deaths?
He’s a narcissist and I don’t have a shred of doubt that he murdered them.
The first time I saw Scott's photo w Laci something told n I told my 90 yr old stepmom that "when all this over ill bet u they find Scott did it."
There are people that think Jodi Aria is innocent < Cray cray > same people believe Scott is not guilty
I'll never understand murder as an option instead of divorce. I guess he was only concerned with how those outcomes would affect him and his reputation. He chose poorly.
His cold unconcerned attitude indicates he is a psychopath . Sends cold chills down your back . Probably would do it again to the next person if he had the possibility!. Just as well he is behind bars .
Scott off-ed Laci on Christmas Eve.
I'm convinced that Scott got an idea how to off Laci from the Jonbenet Ramsey case of 1996.
Jon Benet was off-ed during Christmas. The police were lacking personnel during the Christmas and, therefore, never did a good investigation.
Alan Dershowitz was interviewed about the Jonbenet Ramsey case on TV. Dershowitz said, "I know this is terrible to say, but if you want to commit m u r d e r and get away with it, do it on a holiday."
I think Scott saw that interview and got inspired.
Plus Scott's grandfather was murdered on December 23
Are you serious? 🤦♂️
I think he smothered her while she slept.. possibly drugged. He seems too much of a coward to engage in a struggle ..even with an eight month’s pregnant tiny woman. He should at least tell his family the truth so they can go on with their lives instead of devoting all their time trying to exonerate a guilty man.
I still think of Laci and Connor every time I drive to the city and pass the area they were found.
There is way too much circumstantial evidence for me to ever believe he’s innocent. I don’t know if he did it himself, but he knows what happened.
So you’re basically saying they didn’t prove it 100% but i kinda think he did it. You think he might have had help but you’re not really sure. So you think someone should just sit in jail for life bc your sorta mb think he did it but it wasn’t really proven?
@@johndolph131 So I don’t think he did it himself, he doesn’t look like the type to get his hands dirty. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t get someone else to do it for him. Also I said circumstantial evidence, you know like using past tense when talking about his wife before her body was found. Or how about telling his girlfriend this would be the first Christmas without his wife, and then she mysteriously just disappeared. And wouldn’t you know it she winds up dead. I think the jurors at his trail were unprofessional, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t belong in prison.
Guys will say anything to get laid, if he told another girl he “lost” his wife he’s pulling on the emotional strings to get her to feel sorry for him so he could get laid. Cheating doesn’t equal murder. I don’t believe he hired someone bc there would need to be communication with someone consistently and they didn’t find that or large payments leaving the bank account. If scott did it they never proved beyond reasonable doubt it was him therefore by the state of the law i couldn’t convict him…
@@johndolph131 True, but it wasn’t just the cheating. It was all of the other stuff that I mentioned in the previous comment. That and his lying went above and beyond. He was at a vigil for his wife pretending to be in Paris. I know people grieve in different ways, but I’m sorry that’s weird to me. If I “lost” my wife I’d go to the ends of earth to find her. But I guess you don’t have to do that when you already know where they are. He’s in prison because everything they did have kept coming back to him. He was the only person they couldn’t clear.
everything you’re saying literally doesn’t equal murder, it makes him look like a lousy husband. Nothing you’re saying is concrete evidence that goes yes that proved he 100% killer her. All you’re proving to me with what you’re saying is he is 100% a bad husband… where’s the blood, the motive (real motive not just guess), where’s the crime scene?, how did he do it?, you really think he dumped a dead body in broad day light in the marina???
Hes deff a narcissist only a narcissist would care if they look like a “terrible person” to strangers after bein convicted of double homicide of his wife & kid. His guilt is still so obvious even til this day. Hes the only one that thinks he’s foolin anyone. That & his weird sis in law. Strange how that lady rides harder for him then his own siblings. Dudes where he belongs period.
I will never understand how a serial cheater could justify sociopath or not murdering his wife and unborn child, how can anyone even consider that? The other question I always had was the money. He had 15k in the car with him when arrested and 2K in the bank the day Lacy was murdered. Was his family giving him cash?
I would imagine so. His disgusting parents still think he's innocent.
@@TheRbaker843 I assumed as much but I’ve never read any confirmation we’re his money was coming from.
Actually, it was his parents who were giving him money. His mother tried to explain the reason that she gave Scott the money was because she had accidentally removed the money from his account and she was giving it back to him. Very lame excuse and the jury saw through it immediately.

Poor Laci. Can't figure out why she married this loser. After they got married at SLO he went back to living in his college rental with his buddies and dated like nothing happened. One of his girlfriends went to his graduation and got a big surprise when she saw his wife! I can't believe Laci didn’t know about this behavior.
This guys a poster boy for the death penalty.
He wasn't convicted because he had an affair he was convicted because he was so arrogant that he couldn't stop himself from behaving like he KNEW his wife and child were already dead and no one could be that certain except the person that killed her.
Innocent people don’t lie❤️
Now why would Laci want to have a child with a man who repeatedly cheated on her? He was showing her who he really was.
The hope that fatherhood will change him
Lacy had some self esteem issues, I think. Poor woman. We’ll never know how she was treated behind closed doors.
Great roundup of the facts and outcome of the entire case!
I don't understand why some people still think he's innocent. They should have never overturned the death penalty
I agree that it was primarily about the baby but not because he wouldn’t be the center of attention. He didn’t want kids to begin with, he’d told Laci that years before. Also saying “this isn’t fun” while holding a family member’s baby, “joking” that he’d hoped for infertility when they couldn’t conceive, and complete apathy when the subject of babies came up. I also think that he regretted having gotten married. Hard to say whether he loved her or not as I can’t put myself in the shoes of a sociopath.

Yes I do think Peterson is a narcissistic sociopath. I found it interesting, that it was Laci who made the first step in their relationship. He obviously was not especially interested at first sight. Later he obviuously was more interested and charming (no problem for an narcissistic person). But after the marriage he was the one clearly stating to not want to have kids, which is very unusual for a man in this age. Laci obviously was dissappointed from that. I think at this point he probably had extramarital affairs and was not interested in Laci anymore. Maybe she tricked him to get pregnant and that made him angry and he was annoyed by that. She told her mom, that he refused to touch her baby belly. I think that is very telling.
