🚆 Swiss train cab ride on the S23 from Baden to Langenthal - quiet ride through small towns

- Good morning and welcome to the lovely town of Baden! We're sat aboard the S23 and ready to depart. Our rolling stock today is the trusty Domino, once the backbone of Swiss regional traffic. The S23 takes us through a total of three cantons: Aargau, Solothurn and Bern. Our service stops on all stations (except one), including Olten, one of the main hubs in Switzerland. Enjoy the mostly rural ride outside of bigger cities! It sure is a bit different than the ZVV double decker operations.

another brilliant trip. My daughters wonder why I watch these journeys! Ive been a fan of Swiss Railways for over 50 years now and this is one way of seeing Switzerland in all its glory. Between you and a few others I must have covered 90% of the network!
Ah, the RBDe 560, still the train I prefer to drive, and the one with the most beautiful engine sound! :-D
Gutes video danke

There just something about the AG S23 that makes it an enjoyable ride, the scenery is picturesque. Overall keep up the great work!
Nice to hear the sound of the older style traction motors without all the humming and flying saucer sounds from the thyristors and all that you get with more modern stock. - And without cab air conditioning, which can be VERY noisy
And minus the constant ticking sound of the Hasler speedometer, too.
@@Sacto1654 You get to love it after a while as a Swiss train driver... Like cow bells!
Enjoying from Vancouver.
Great video, Thanks!
Thank you very much
A great cab ride from Baden to Langenthal through Cantons of Aagrau , Solothurn and Bern . I been to Langenthal well to change trains from a SBB to BLS train to Luzern from there .
Beautiful video like and subscribed from Czech Republic 🙂👍👍👍
enjoying from France!!
Awesome video!
wonderful!
Good day to everyone! What a lovely view. This is my usual stop when I have my work attachment in Baden, before the pandemic started. My question is why there is no announcement bell, the usual train rides I can listen the next stops announcement. Thank you!
Eu, aqui no Brasil, assistindo este belo vídeo.
Cool
Good run. Of general interest. What rank or level of driver gets to drive the VSOE train. Is this a premium job or another day at the office? Similarly a ICE or TGV or RailJet or a covering (signals and route knowledge) driver for (foreign) steam specials on the Swiss system.
As long as route and vehicle knowledge is given, all drivers operating in passenger services can operate it. It's not really another day at the office, since it's a quite rare run, however it does not require any special training or similar.
Sad for the guys you didn't wait for at the very begining of the video at Baden hahahah. Great video otherwise !
There's a timetable for a reason 🤷♂️
@@RailwayEmotions "There's a timetable for reason."
Not that it's probably necessary for MOST passengers, but that would be a great "reminder" sign to post at every station, particularly for the tourists. 😁🤣
Another great video, as always. Thanks!
@@RailwayEmotions unlike us in the UK where a train can be late before it even leaves the station. We have a saturday and sunday service which you in Europe don't. Its 24/7 every day of the week.
Another enjoyable trip. Thank you. On departing Othmarsingen you came across a series of 'triple greens' before arriving in Lenzburg then more on the approach to Olten. What is the significance of a 'triple green'?
It permits a maximum of 90km/h. It is one of the signal aspects that L type signals can show.
Thanks again for a train ride mostly free of technical information. It's nice to watch something like this, whilst semi spacing out and and listening to LoFi Girl. Was this morning or evening?
Time at Lupfig (13:30) was 0619
@@RailwayEmotions Okee danke dir. Ja finde es toll, dass sie diesen Zügen nochmals ein 2tes Leben gönnen.🙂
Die klingen auch noch Super, sei es die Fahrmotoren oder die ziemlich lauten Lüfter😁
I want life in switzerland
👍👍💪💪👋👋👋🇦🇷🇦🇷❤️🤗
😎👍
Greetings from California. Thanks so much for the enjoyable video. One question: I have noticed small groups of cabins/sheds like the ones at 6:44 on the right side. Are these vacation cabins?
They are basically garden sheds ;-)
Man caves?
No it’s garden sheds but u buy ur property from one of the sheds and u have ur own Garten
@@RailwayEmotions oder isch es miete?
Wie immer: SPITZENKLASSE!!!!!!!!!!!
What's the max speed?
140km/h
Żeby to lepiej pojąć zajrzę do Beeke i Pederson Purytanie oraz do Historii Szwajcarii.
Des voies de train à perte de vue, on ne peut vraiment pas dire que c'est du bon boulot, et les paysages sont tout de même bien étriqués, forcément…
