Fun Fact: The clowns were in fact, played by actual clowns. The filmmakers wanted people who had a background in the circus, given the nature of the film, so they hired these individuals.
How do I know this? I'm friends with a guy who knows them. In a way, he's friends with Killer Klowns.

This film deserves all the love it gets and more. It's an honest shame that a sequel/reboot/remake hasn't been made, because honestly, this film should've been a franchise from the start. This film alone has more franchise potential than most other horror films. I believe that a new Killer Klowns movie will eventually come about, it's just a matter of playing the waiting game at this point.
I am 17 and I remember going into a Block Buster and getting this movie with my mom when I was about 6 or 7 at the time and when I brought this home and watched it that night I fell in love with this movie. One of my favorites.

Fun Fact: some of the clown masks were reused in the movie Ernest Scared Stupid at the end where all the trolls come up. the fat one and also the red spike haired one were reused

If the sequel ever gets made I feel it should be set in the 80's. I think it would loose a lot of it's charm if it was set now. It would be awesome if the sequel was filmed using the same type of film they used for the original movie, it would help keep it looking closer to the original movie and give it it's own look. Play on the early 80's vibe with the hair styles, fashion and pop culture from that time.
When I was a kid, and I watch this movie, special effects went right over my head. I thought this was the coolest movie ever
Love this film! I remember Suzanne Snyder (Debbie) played Deb in Weird Science, and John Vernon, aka Dean Wermer from National Lampoons Animal House! Another great review guys, love your channel, reminds me of when me and my mate watch films, and make observations!

Just found you guys and binge watching your reviews. I love Killer Klowns. So glad you reviewed and loved it. I saw it so many times as a kid and it was so unique. I’m lucky my Dad was a horror fan so I saw tons of classic and unique horror films from the 80’s growing up. He used to tape them as well to watch later so I watched them over and over again lol

There is an episode of Extreme ghostbusters which sort of pays homage to this film. Also, in the episode Deadliners they have cenobite-like creatures. It scared the shite of me as a child, but is was in the 90s, you know, it would have never aired today
Classic little horror flick! I remember the VHS cover was printed sideways vertical and really stood out in the video store shelf. Also, in the 80's just about EVERY film had it's own font in it's title, ow beautiful isn't it?
The one thing I've always wondered with the film's characters is what's up with them not looking outside first before opening their doors? They just hear someone at the door and open wide. Anyone with a lick of common sense would know that's just asking for trouble.

Wish i would have grown up with this movie, just like monster squad i think it's perfect to show to kids to ease them into horror movies. Another one that's great for this would be 'The Witches'. Really think you guys should review that one.

I just assumed they were pie remnants that fell outta the sky from the blown-up ship.
Because of the bloody face of the old man, that one guy in the holding cell when his arm pops out and it is burnt and bleeding slightly but mostly whole, and the way Fatso checks the cocoons I think the cotton candy dissolves a person over time but it does probably kill them instantly or paralyzes the victims. Also the issue with the women being put into balloons A we only have a confirmed sample of 2 out of x and the air is limited, Debbie almost suffocated so really who knows the point of the balloons, maybe it was just to have them.

The killer klown "Butch" has the distinction of being the first killer klown to be seen in the film and the first one to be killed.

This and Alien were the first movies to ever scare me. I watched this when a neighbor of ours was "watching me" and left me with this on the tv to watch. I was probably 5,6,7? Terrible babysitter.
