This is so sad for me. I never ever forgot the time I went to a meeting at NIH USA National Institutes of Health. I asked what will be done to help people on the spectrum who are homeless. The smug housed lady running the event said their are no homeless people. I told her indeed there are homeless people on the spectrum because, I help them. She then said we won't be allocating any money to help homeless people on the spectrum because, we don't think they exist. I wish I had this guy with me that day. I would have asked him to tell his story.

I’m exhomeless, autistic and have ADHD. Literally every single person I know who is homeless or exhomeless are autistic and ADHD, most undiagnosed.

@@londonhomelessinfo In the United States you are only autistic if you are better off financially. I'm black and autistic so having been diagnosed at age 8. My parents had money and we also had private insurance so I could see the best doctors at major teaching hospitals. In the United States it is ASS-SUMED that anyone on the streets is just crazy, a loser, a dope addict or a criminal. I've gone to enough autism events to see this time and time again. So called autism experts suggesting people on the spectrum can not be homeless for a bunch of foolish made up reasons that have to do more with their ignorance than anything scientific or reasonable. IT MAKES ME BLOODY MAD IT DOES!
Thank you for responding my good fellow. I NEEDED TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY HERE!

@@AUTISTICLYCAN Beyond Wales, Pritchard (2010) conducted a small study of 14 rough sleepers in Devon, UK and found that 65 per cent of long term rough sleepers were autistic. Ok, it’s a very small study but it’s consistent with my experiences.

Studies on the topic suggest as many as 1 in 8 homeless people are autistic. So she's just showing her ignorance (journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/1362361318768484)
Was this one of the meetings that get filmed and uploaded to NIH youtube channel?
