I had similar results with a high performance 2s CHNL vs the stock LIPO. If it pull more amps for sure there would be a bigger difference but the the stock battery seems pretty happy running the stock motor/ESC even with the taller gearing.
That CNHL 2s 4,900 is a great little LIPO. It has shocked me how well it performs in my modified Bandit (80 mph).

Oh, you may want to put a few layers of packing tape over your GPS screen - it really helps protect it and if it gets torn up you can just put some new tape on. Yours isn't too bad yet. : )
