tbh RE is good, but there is vibe whenever I play RE and it reminds of all the other games that were around (For example all the PSX Tomb Raider games, Silent Hill, Tekken, Dino Crisis etc).
Something about the Damned is that there is one place you get to see what they look like under their masks: All Hallows was intended to come between Thames Wharf & Aldwych and be populated with the Damned. You’d meet Bob and use Aldwych’s tunnels to make your way to the museum and back. The sewers in the final version of the map have rotting corpses in the water that look like skulled and clawed versions of demontors from Harry Potter. Bob says he has “no face _or_ flesh, man. And a bootin’ doon the waste disposal chute here, presumed deed!” In the end of such a “waste disposal chute”, those bodies in the All Hallows’ sewer have rotten flesh and no faces. The “Egyptian lassie” Bob mentions as to why he never tried to get the fluid himself was supposed to be an enemy or basic NPC in Lud’s Gate near the embalming fluid, presumably a ghost or a zombified mummy or something according to the script. However, she was cut from the game but Bob warning us about her was unchanged.
It was not Judith Gibbons that voiced Sofia Lee. That is commonly thought though. It was actually the lead composer/sound designer Nathan mcCree‘s sister. I had the pleasure of interviewing her myself that is how I know that. Great video.
Really interesting watch, thanks! Brings back so much nostalgia, TRIII is easily my fav classic TR. Remember that I played 1, 2 and 3 at young age and couldn't finish the first level in any of them, and then saw the printed walkthrough-book of TRIII on a garage sale and begged my parents to buy it! With basically every step described with a pic I could finally play through my first TR game! It was so exciting, sometimes I'd even just read ahead in the guidbook and be excited for the levels to come, lol. That being sad, TRIII feels weird for having way too few story exposition. Interesting to know about the planned cutscenes... tho I think the way it is, it gives a kinda nice vibe of solitude, which is also nice.
All Hallows shouldnt have been removed, the begining fits with Thames Warf ending and Aldwych begining. Now it doesnt explain how she gets from St. Paul Cathedral to Aldwych. Great video!
I am so glad you made this video. TR3 is my favorite TR game from the classic ones, and to see stuff I never knew of is such a joy, almost like experiencing TR3 all over again. Great video, hope to see more TR stuff!

A fun fact about the UFO is that it uses 5D space like Bungie’s 2.5D Marathon games except Tomb Raider is full 3D: the rooms that make up the ship actually intrude on the 3D space used by the hanger and secret 3 with the orca tank. However, Lara can’t enter the shared rooms/polygons unless she enters from precisely the right way but traps can still affect her. So it seems Tomb Raider’s room doors aren’t called portals for nothing: it’s like a 3D version of a portal renderer like Aleph One or Eduke32. In fact, if you stand too close to one of the occupied alien built cryopods on the ship’s top level (the ones that blink yellow to show they’re turned on), Lara takes rapid damage because this part of the room is inside secret 3 and she’s getting hit by the laser traps. If you don’t turn on the lasers, nothing happens. The 13th Floor in Chronicles has a similar issue, but only on the PS1 version (at least on PSP): the vent Lara sneaks through at the start has a room with a power armour guard in it that collapses if you shoot anywhere in the vent. The exit to this area is another vent with explosions in it that seems to pass through the empty space where the upper vent fell in the room below. All of these rooms intrude on the entrance to the Iris room, just at the top of the ramp in the corner near the Iris’s laser field. On the PS1 version only (at least running on PSP) there’s a bug: once the explosions in this vent start, they never stop. You can see them appearing in the slope of the broken vent once you leave and again when entering the Iris room. They can still hurt Lara and can even set her on fire, which is really annoying if it happens just before you grab the Iris. In TR3 as a very small child, I somehow managed to get this bug to work in Lara’s gym with her fireplace in the library appearing in the gym below. At the time, I thought that shooting the zipline cables holding up her monkey bars had set one of them on fire. In 20 years I’ve never been able or known how to reproduce this glitch.
Great vid. One little correction, Aldwych was decommissioned in 1994, only 4 years before the game was released. One of the two platforms was decommissioned in WW2 though, and in it was stored the Elgin Marbles from the British Museum to protect them from the bombings of the Blitz. The other platform, used for people to hide from the bombs, remained opened for a further 50 years. As an aside, the level creator for London intended the museum included to be the British Museum, not the Natural History Museum as features in the final game. The British Museum, Aldwych, Luds gate, St Paul’s - they’re all in the same rough area of London and therefore this would make sense. Brill vid!
Great video, I just love TRIII! Especially Antarctica part was creepy af. TRI and TRII are also great, older TR games just had the feeling of adventure, danger and mystique. Wish they would remake TR2 and TR3.
Omg, what a great video!!! 1) I am shocked with the London level thing, how quickly you can finish it. 2) Lara's doubled face back at her place lol 3) Why is the Japanese version so simplified?

I remember playing all these games on the ps1 and the pc, I still have all of them. I would play for hours just to see where I could go on the maps.. good times.. thanks for the great list.. Some of glitches I remember finding on my own but others are new to me..
Whoa, another speedrun version of the Thames Level. (There's a second way to skip it) Well done, Kai, and great memories of my childhood being possessed with this game❤
THANKS KAI!!!! TR3 is my favorite TR ever! The 3rd part of both RE and TR happen to be my favorite from each franchise lol! Lara and Jill, ICONS/LEGENDS!!!!
The artifact in India having fire as it's element is probably a reference to Shiva's third eye which can emit a heat so great even the god of fire Agni couldn't handle it
Tony setting the water on fire also seems to be a reference to Kaliya the Naga’s venom which fits with the level name: it caused the water of the river Yamuna to turn frothy and pink with poison until he was sent willingly to live in Patala at the prayer of his wives to a Hindu hero not to kill him. Patala is a Hindu underworld like Bhogovati from Tomb Raider Underworld. The burning water doesn’t have flames on the surface but it simulates them with waterfall textures as well as red and pinkish lights in the water flipmap itself, giving the impression that the water is boiling, steamy and pink just like the naga venom. It was only in this game too: In the last revelation, burning oil would either use lava like textures and flames (Tomb of Set) or just flames (Alexandria). Angel of Darkness had flames in a few places but simulated the rest with sparks and what looked like clouds of Cheeto dust. Legend onward used actual flames again.
Amazing work ! Great video! TR 3 is my favorite! I have 2 copies so my boyfriend and I can play it side by side. I always end up with the most medi packs while he has the most ammo.
Great video. I wish they had included the crawling roll move. Also, if they had thought earlier of the frontal dive while crawling that was later introduced in Chronicles, it would have ultimately made crawling much, much less of a chore.
20:15 I need to point out you don't need to keep doing the maneuver until the weapon dissappears. It only needs to be done once and the trick has worked
Woohoooo!😍 Happy Tomb Raider Month! 🥳 I was sooo looking forward to this one and you really nailed it!😍 I can imagine what amount of research you did for this...I love how there are still plenty of things I didn't know yet.😅 By the way: It was due to your TR videos that I came across your channel a few weeks ago. 😁 Let me tell you: you're making a TR fangirl very happy.😁✌🏼Looking forwards to the live streams!😊
Learning Lara had a roll animation removed just before release, suddenly makes the TR3 level design make *a lot more sense!* There are so many long crawling sections that take ages for Lara to shuffle through. I wonder why they removed it? Makes me wonder if they had a climbing jump animation planned, to speed up traversing some of the gigantic ladders in TR3. And I'm glad they dropped Peru for the South Pacific Islands. We went to Peru in the first game, and the cannibal islands with dinosaurs, like a prehistoric lost world, was my favourite section of the game. Also seeing us Aussies represented in a video game absolutely blew my little mind as a kid. 😆
Call me nostalgic, but there's so much nuance in the TR games. They were so well thought out and I always had so much fun playing them. Modern games are basically all cinematic, which, don't get me wrong, is cool and all, but it probably takes too much space rather than giving it to the actual resolving of the game. Like other games in the 90s, TR was intricate and hard to solve, with so much detail added in a rather antiquated technology. I find it so fascinating! that's also the reason why I prefer to replay TR from 1 to 5 than the newest episodes.
What a great video! TR3 was my first Tomb Raider game. In the demo version of South Pacific, it’s possible to get to the base of the temple waterfall since the spikes aren’t present and run around at the end of the world - can’t do this any longer in the main game,
28:15 Fun Fact: The forwards roll during crouching is actually programmed into the game. There is just no key binding to that action making it unavailable. But in different mods, the devs of these mods bind it to a key to make it useable.
Great video Inky! This is my favorite Tomb Raider game. I loved the unused loading screens and the unused roll while crouching too. That double-head glitch will haunt my dreams forever! Lol 😂❤️
Yes thanks for this. Much like me having bought RE 2 as MY first title, though loved RE 3 as my fave. When I finally got a playstation, Tomb Raider 2 was my first but actually found this to be my favorite.
Wonderful video. Thanks, Kai. There were a few thing, I didn't know about the game, although I've played it a lot. Looking forward your other TR-videos this month. :-)
I did have strange things happen in the original Tomb Raider, in the Midas level. Enemies were just frozen. They didn't attack or notice my presence. Even weirder is the fact that Lara can't kill them. I don't understand what happened.
Tomb Raider 1, 2, 3 and Tomb Raider: Anniversary are my favorites in the series with a special honorary mention to the Tomb Raider: Dagger of Xian fan demo by Nicobass. I REALLY wish we got that Tomb Raider 2: Anniversary as Tomb Raider 2 was my first Tomb Raider game and my favorite, but sadly Square Enix chose a full-on reboot instead of another remake of a classic.
I actually encountered that mine cart glitch myself, it was so unexpected and all the years of playing the game I only just found it did that. Totally shook me 🤣
The bug you where you rapid-fire rockets is called the weapon combine glitch, it's used to kill some bosses in some speedrun routes. (I think the Guardian of the Talion and Willard? But those routes may be outdated.)
This game and Resident Evil 2 had a huge impact on me growing up. Tomb Raider 3 is my absolute favourite, even though it's harder than a souls game I just love the colours, locations, cutscenes and music in this game soooo much. I used to have a lara croft life size cut-out for the TR4 promotion, but it was destroyed when our garage flooded :,( at least I still have my official TR3 pyjamas at the age of 33 XD Oh just to add aldwych is pronounced uldwich ;)
I used to exploit another glitch. In the Nevada level you need the Quad to jump the fence of the base, but I used to make a simple jump, hang on the edge of the barbwire and pull myself up. That way I would end the level and the quad bike jump cutscene would play.
10:50 I felt so smart when I found that shortcut on my own back then. But of course that is a glitch, a level glitch. No one on the team intended that to be a thing for speed runs.
I do wonder if in the first antartica level, the bruned building could be a reference to the movie "The thing" (1982) becasue many similarities. : -Take place in antartica -Burned building -Contain a "mutant" creature -Have a kennel beside it For the fun, you can try to play this levle part while listening The Thing theme. It's fits really well
6:17 Orcas are actually used to be trained by military to clear water paths from mines by camicadse method. Kinda cruel but... That's probably why they're here And by the way, second (international) disc of Japanese version is just an American version without any differences, improvements or bug fixes. It has the usual difficulty levels and even the save files are incompatible between two disks (if you hack and change the savefile header, then collected item quantity will be corrupted and you will have less items then you used to before converting anything, but if you convert Japanese International file to American or European you won't lose anything, and vice-versa)
The DLC for TR1,2 and 3 are on steam but are hidden in the game files. There are people on there that has said where and how to get them ALONG with HD textures I hope this helps someone
And two years later, Lost Artifact has been made readily available and the forward roll from a crouch position is now a thing you can do :D
Still no knife or melee leaving some areas awkward.
I remember pulling off the weird double faced Lara bug unintentionally as a kid. For the longest time I thought that I had just dreamt that whole thing. Thanks for clarifying that I am indeed not insane 😂

Great video Inky! This is my favorite Tomb Raider game. I loved the unused loading screens and the unused roll while crouching too. That double-head glitch will haunt my dreams forever! Lol 😂❤️
Yay I was hoping you'd like it! I worked so hard on it but it was so cool to see all this stuff!
Yes thanks for this. Much like me having bought RE 2 as MY first title, though loved RE 3 as my fave. When I finally got a playstation, Tomb Raider 2 was my first but actually found this to be my favorite.
If you keep making awesome Tomb Raider content, I’m gonna start calling you Large Medipack.
This was absolutely fascinating! Thanks for the video!
The work you put into your videos is why your my favorite RUclipsr love you dude keep it up
19:10 - I legit laughed at the music you added in there ahhahahahahha
When I thought I knew everything about this game, your video came and rescued my knowledge from ignorance. (Anyway, 08:32 is pretty funny)
Glad they added that forward roll to the remaster!
Totally shook me 🤣
I love your tomb raider content!!!!
Tomb Raider 3 Croft Manor, would be $20 DLC today!
24 years later, and it still surprises.
50/25 facts about James Marcus
50/25 facts on Umbrella Corporation
Nice use of the Reading Rainbow theme 😂
Wow. I never knew how to get the quad bike that was teasing me on the other side of the gate. Lmao. Thanks for this.
The voice at the bell scene is hilarious 😂
16:38 Expansion has returned in 2024! somehow....
The bug you where you rapid-fire rockets is called the weapon combine glitch, it's used to kill some bosses in some speedrun routes. (I think the Guardian of the Talion and Willard? But those routes may be outdated.)
20:37 GOD You opened my eyes😱
This game and Resident Evil 2 had a huge impact on me growing up. Tomb Raider 3 is my absolute favourite, even though it's harder than a souls game I just love the colours, locations, cutscenes and music in this game soooo much. I used to have a lara croft life size cut-out for the TR4 promotion, but it was destroyed when our garage flooded :,( at least I still have my official TR3 pyjamas at the age of 33 XD
Oh just to add aldwych is pronounced uldwich ;)
Omg tomb raider pajamas 😂
Do they have holsters?
@@InkRibbon If only! there was so much TR merch here the UK, deodorant, watches, phones it was awesome as a kid XD
5:44 Thanks One of My favorite Game Doom
Fight with weapons ❌
Fight with quads bike ✅
make for all tomb raider games Secrets and Easter Eggs please!
The reading rainbow song popping up was pure genius
I used to exploit another glitch. In the Nevada level you need the Quad to jump the fence of the base, but I used to make a simple jump, hang on the edge of the barbwire and pull myself up. That way I would end the level and the quad bike jump cutscene would play.
Please more TR on this channel 😍 And only the old games
10:50 I felt so smart when I found that shortcut on my own back then. But of course that is a glitch, a level glitch. No one on the team intended that to be a thing for speed runs.
I do wonder if in the first antartica level, the bruned building could be a reference to the movie "The thing" (1982) becasue many similarities. :
-Take place in antartica
-Burned building
-Contain a "mutant" creature
-Have a kennel beside it
For the fun, you can try to play this levle part while listening The Thing theme. It's fits really well
6:17 Orcas are actually used to be trained by military to clear water paths from mines by camicadse method. Kinda cruel but... That's probably why they're here
And by the way, second (international) disc of Japanese version is just an American version without any differences, improvements or bug fixes.
There are people on there that has said where and how to get them ALONG with HD textures I hope this helps someone
at 25:35, that was the voice of the adoring fan from TES Oblivion!!
Awesome video... I am a big fan of tomb raider 3... the expansion thing was news for me but I am not amazed by it
