Okay you skipped a step. You showed how to click promote. Did that. But there was no prompt to put in a card number to spend the money to promote it. How do I do that?

I used promotion, I chose low CPMS countries from the video and I'd like to share what happened to my channel. I chose a video that already had the most views. I started the promotion on Feb 7, 2024 and ended on Feb 21, 2024. I spent €75.35 and this happened. I started with 14 subscribers and now I have 2,842. The video went from 165 views to 43,181. Also, the views of my other videos have grown. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the result. Thank you for this video😃

I followed the "Low CPM, English speaking" instructions yesterday and today I got the notification "Your Google Ad account is suspended - Your account violated the Circumventing systems policy."
So these might not be great instructions anymore.

I think its completely cool to buy some subs, likes etc in the beginning but only if you really have quality content. I didn't want to work my a** of just to get couple of likes. I got myself little push from Fame ster in terms of subs and only after that my channel started to get organic traffic. Great video btw!
Yeah I came across a reddit post that said the exact same thing. They were mentioning that ads are not good for long term strat ut a great way to give your account that initial boost.
I am starting to think the same. My first videos were definitely not great (old camera gear + we all make mistakes when starting something new) but now with experience and new camera gear I get a lot of praise on most recent uploads. The problem is, YT still does not make a lot of video impressions because I am a small channel, and YT is a numbers game so no one subscribes.
So I am starting to think I should just make YT promotions until I reach 10-20K subscribers, then the numbers game should just do the rest.

Awesome thanks brother I tried something similar to this some months ago and thought it was a raging success, but it was not, google ads was a real scam haha and the view count is a lie. I used the promotions feature a few times and my favorite result is that it drove traffic to my other videos. That became my primary purpose for using it. Having a pinned comment, end-screen and card on the promoted video lead those viewers on a path to other videos. I set it up with a specific path and it worked. I was thrilled! Basically, promoted 1 video that resulted in increasing activity on other videos.
This is a feature I will most likely come back to in the future, but certainly not something I would recommend being used on a regular basis. This is a sometimes feature. Rare occasion at most. Excellent video as always! I have learned a lot from your channel. Greatly appreciated!

Yeah but my question is that do those watch hours on those other videos contribute to the partner program? That's the key. Another idea I came up with have 2 YT accounts. Where you promote your main account on a secondary account that way your main account violates no rules and the views and subs you receive are perceived as organic.
@@TheLordPanic From what I understand, the watch hours of the promoted video during the promotion when clicked on from the promotion, do not count. BUT, any watch hours that the viewer puts in on another video they watched because of seeing the promoted video, do.

I agree,there was a crazy roller coaster where i went up to 1400 subs in 48 hrs and lost 700 in a day, I seem to have finally stablized at just over 400 and im trying to stay without promoting i tried and it didnt work for me people leave. I want to grow organically so I can do this for a few years I hope. But I love the advice Marcus gives so far i have done what he suggest,its just crazy how this algorythem thing works. I do a cooking channel and 2 not great videos got over 1000 likes and over a 1000 views? I felt I have better food content but whatever. I'm retired and cooking is a passion so im in for the long haul. sorry for the novel.

Following up on this; what he says at the end should tell you whether you should try this or not. I have had enough watch hours for a few months but need the subscribers to catch up. I tried this with two videos and promoted them until mid-January 2024 with just a small amount of money. and within 15 hours I had 300 more subscribers and now I can at least apply for the program. It does work.
If you don't mind me asking how did you have it set up because I'm not getting the same results has him and I feel like I'm doing something wrong It's for a food channel

@@TheMimiShows I'm getting around 1 Sub for ever like 80 views which I feel is a pretty good ratio. Is it not.
Its counting the subs DIRECTLY FROM the promotion. If a person watches a different video on ur channel and subscribes then they count that as organic because u pushed that session time with the quality of the videos. If they see ur promo video on a device where they arent logged in and then they go on their phone and search u up ans subscribe it gets counted as organic. If they share a video or send it to theirself or a friend it gets counted as organic. Also having views and subs makes other people more likely to watch or sub because of social proof.
I would think the watch hours would also count from those other videos they watched, that part is not making sense to me.

Nah this is essentially showing your videos to more people. It is organic growth, just accelerated with money.
@@Mactakun agreed. most of my growth out of this method came organically. promotion shows it giving 100 subs when im really gaining 700 that day. watch time is through the roof in a nice spread among all recent videos. i have promoted 3 videos so far this past month and my channel growth is astounding. audience retention averages only get silly on the promoted videos.

Just wanted to say thanks. I followed your tips on using Estonia, Indonesia etc with English as the language. I promoted an old video from over a year ago to when I was still learning how to do YT and re did the thumbnail and description to hopefully help improve the CTR. The video only had 56 views on it after over a year. I had 700 existing subs, and I already had +6000hrs watchtime.
Since the promotion was approve around 12 hours ago, I've already gained 100 subs and the video has a further 300 views on it. I chose to do a $50AUD promotion to run for two weeks, I can't imagine that the growth will continue in the same manner as it has in the last 12 hours, but hold onto your hats if it does!

@@honestnerd @honestnerd I got 1200 new subscribers for $50AUD.... but they're not very active subs and not one commented on the promoted video. It doesn't appear to have affected my channel as it still behaves exactly as it did with 700 subscribers. I'll do another in a few months but targeting my own country not the ones listed in the video.
So for a channel not yet monetized, will those subscribers count towards the monetization program?

I think organically getting subs is still better even though it looks good to see the large amount of subscribers on the channel. The RUclips grind is such a mountain of a climb, it pains me to see when people consistently pump out content but the growth doesn't follow.
I hope everyone that reads this may continue to strive for that goal of becoming successful and get monetized!

@accandid I go back and forth between not caring and getting into competitive mode and thinking I'm failing. You're right though, I'm not gonna quit but it definitely gets discouraging sometimes. We got this, we just have to make it through the night to reach the sunrise. I'm sorry for complaining, but it also makes me feel better that someone understands. I wish you much success, if it makes you feel better it looks like you just started and the amount of subscribers you have now took me around a month or two to get so if you stay dedicated you'll be surpassing me in no time as well 🤣🤣.

If you're open to advice: it's difficult to tell what your content is about by browsing your thumbnails, try providing more information in your thumbnails, use good contrast between your text and image and give the viewer a hook to draw them in. Just my 2cents, I didn't watch your videos, so feedback is only base on the thumbnails and titles, which are very key to getting views.

We found the exact same results here. It was so dramatically successful that we decided to pause all promotions because subs were growing so much faster than views. We also started using it only on shorts so that it didn’t affect watch time so much.
You seem like you're not telling the truth. Just advertising the product.
@@angielski_inaczej I mean - think what you want but if you check like social blade or something you can see that on Halloween we had 5k subs and we hit 22k after like 6 weeks, maybe less. Also, if I was trying to promote it I wouldn’t criticize the fact that watch time was terrible and views didn’t grow as fast as subs. Frankly, subs are a vanity metric at this point and RUclips algorithm cares more about views and watch time. So while the boost helped, it’s not a magic bullet for success.

I went from 400 subs to 1,300 in like 15 hours. I got worried that it was growing too fast so I just stopped the promotion after a week.

This was a really interesting video, but anyone looking to grow a sustainable channel should ignore the lure of buying anything. Simply focus on content. The subs and watch time will look after themselves and finding an audience naturally will surely lead to better results longer term.

Keep in mind you should still promote to America and have title cards to other videos, the RUclips promotions probably won’t be active but if you are actively helping it could put you on RUclips’s algorithm

I wish I had this video back when I was starting. I was so mad because I had great content but wasn't getting any attention. 1k was mission impossible. I was lucky when I found out I can boost my channel with initial subs just enough to start getting noticed. I got myself first couple of hundred subs for very low price (I personally used a little bit of Famester). After that my main channel gained a ton of organic traffic.

So my channel had 4000 subs on Christmas (thanks Santa) and I watched this the next day. I did a test too. Picked a good traffic video but not the highest from search. Did a $50 spend across about a week.
Picked up 200 subs in 24 hours. Almost all within about an hour so it looks like YT dumps all the ad buy at once.
That 200 maxed out the about $4.50 a day spend. So I shortened the campaign by three days and just got 203 more.
Now I'm already monetized and subs aren't as important as views or interaction but most PR teams still use subs as a measure so it's nice.
But it definitely works and I think it works best with content that's already got some algorithm action.

@@AIGodSkills if you go to the promote section you can pause the campaign. If you can't find that tool click on any video three dot icons and select promote and it'll bring you to the dashboard
Late to the party on this but it 100% worked, was growing my second channel, had 10k watch hours but only 900 subs after a year, used the promotions tab to promote the video that had gained me the most subs just to see what happened, same findings - in the YPP it showed I had met the requirements and the promotion subs had counted.
@Gavinhr did you get a bump in watch hours as well? I have subs but am lacking watch hours on my long form content.

Good luck to you, I ain't even close to 1k subs (I have 16 subs from before I deleted all my videos).
I personally did the promo myself for my channel introduction video where I went over what my channel is about and did it for the countries I had viewers already for and the countries you made mention of, and after $100, I got 20K plus views for the video and I got to over 5K subs thanks to the system! I originally started with just 14 and my sub count significantly grew, but I just need the watch time now to potentially get into the partner program!

You have made many videos, but your RUclips channel is not getting as many views and subscribers as expected. Because you have no complete SEO for any videos, no channel tags, and no video tags, if you SEO your videos, your subscribers and views will increase, and your channel will grow. So I crossed the 700 subscriber mark and apply for RUclips Partner Program. Do you know if the promotion pauses as RUclips reviews a channel? Or does it keep running?
I’m asking because I haven’t seen any more impressions or views in the past 4 hours on the video since I applied for YPP this morning. I have only used 13% of the budget that I selected.
The promotions are usually only running for 1 hour a day

I tried using promotions I did get alot of subs from it, the downside is they are all dead subs and don't look at your videos. That's why I started over to earn it organically

True. This works if you only want subs just for bragging rights. They don’t watch your videos and tend to disappear after a short time. I got like 10,000+ subs from promotions and my views didn’t budge one bit.

Quite often the low cpm followers are not active they are literally as effective as bots . More spend per person gives more real value with future likes and hours . The ones that floods when you are doing promotions all over are is litteraly following thousands, they will not be active . The same goes for instagram , quality over quantity .

The 1k subs wasnt the worst for me to get organically. The watch hours have been the tricky part for me. IMO its easy enough to get subs quick by just loading your existing videos into an online AI short generator and posting them regularly. I'm fairly partial to slow organic growth over fast growth though so i dont think Im too interested in this.

The thrill of organic growth thumps all but struggling with subs. My 10k views got me 80 subs which i was happy abour but for 10k views should be higher. People subscribing to a channel is alot harder than initially thought.
Google Ads helped me with watch time
From the past 15 years I wanted to start a channel and finally pushed myself to just do it, family and friends don’t really care that much. Anyone reading this, just keep going by providing value, stay strong, patient, optimistic and you will get there! 👍👍

Does this hurt your channels cost per view? Not sure where I seen, that by doing this, you also lower the amount of money you'll be making on your channel per view.
Not that I saw. Yes, the adrevenue from the promotion viewers wasn't high, but as mentioned in the video, it didn't seem to impact any organic stuff.
I think youtube lowered the 1k subs to only 500 subs. Its the hours watched that seems the hard one to get now.
that is incorrect. the 500 is to open up some features but not full monetization.

Hey Marcus, do you know, just in case, why most of my shorts have more than %70 swip away and +%70 view duration and none of them have gone viral yet? They are all 1min or approximate?
It might be the audience or topic you are targeting you might have just reached its peak potential.

In my experience it is much easier to get better view retention consistently with shorts around 15secs, if that is applicable to your content you should give it a go, it tend to have a higher retention rate and therefor gets pushed out more, also uncheck the box to notify subscribers as that helps a lot too
maybe people dont find it interesting to click or watch

I have ran 2 promotions on my channel so far and I have had similar results - A LOT of subscribers but they are very inactive, which made me question whether they were real or not lol and yeah the retention on both of those videos is horrendous!
yeah - i have made the same experience... i tried it once and gained 100 subs in a week.. but it feels like they are inactive or maybe "bots"? 😅 Then i cancelled the youtube promotion function. Will go organically on my own even if it takes longer.

@@LifeOdysseyMotivation To me it seems that the subscribers that i have gained - dont seem to know that they have subscribed.. almost like its some kind of automatic sneaky hidden youtube function that we dont know about. I did not gain any comment saying that they like my content or anything else - they just subscribed and are somehow quiet... it seems like that at least..

I am just a beginner and I created ny motivational channel in less than two months. On Dec 26, 2023, I just had 47 subscribers. Then I posted a shorts video titled, "How To Become A More Powerful Person". Then the next morning when I checked my channel, my subscribers became 88. A 50% increase and 2.3K views of that shorrts video. I was reallly surprised.
Because I was excited, I posted again another short on December 27. But I got more than 100 views only. I am still wondering how the hell did I got those 47 subs in 12 hours? I can't figure out if it is the title? The content? The category? I don't know how did it happen?
@@LifeOdysseyMotivation yeah had the same experience in the beginning - my first few posts and shorts gained a lot of subscreibers and views and then i was all motivated ... posted other videos and they were kind of ignored by the algorythm.
Then i had to figure out why - tried a lot more videos with different aproaches - different kind of videos for the same topic, different voice tonality, different more but similar hashtags, different types of thumbnails - and now i guess i have figured it out slowly. My shorts gain more likes and viewes, cause i add a nice thumbnail into the short - and my views in total are becoming higher.
Its all about consistency and improving yourself in each in every video or short. Maybe a new cut here and there, a new soundeffect here and there, then maybe a new zoom in effect and what not.
Just keep going and stay focused! As long as you are dedicated everything will work out totally fine! 💪💪💪💪💪

I have a question. This helped my Channel a lot my watch time and subs went up drastically in a short amount of time also views. It felt like before this my channel never got to anyone so even if my content was good no one would see it. I was thinking that maybe I get to 1000 subs and then stop. But idk. Also I’ve been getting comment on my videos and shorts that actually sound like real people. So I was wondering should I keep doing it until I get 1000 or should I stop. And if I should stop what do I do to get my videos to people and grow
Check your earned tab to see if these subscribers count toward monetization. I have read that they don't
Ummm this is pure gold! It helps build credibility for small creators! It's tough for me to get 25 subs in a week and just got that in 8 hours!
Forget 25 subs... 3 days later I doubled my sub count to over 600! Thank you so much! I know there is a ton of work left but this is a step in the process!

I feel like this is too good to be true! Same thing happened to me...I actually paused the promo after I got 100 subs in less than a few hours because I'm worried about the subs not being active users. Now that it has been 2 weeks for you, are you seeing these new subs actually watching your videos? Either way, it's a good boost for us small youtubers at the beginning!
@@thehealthybakingfam they are dead... Although it didn't kill my views. It just didn't improve them. In the end, I don't think you want ratio of subs to views to look off, but if some somebody has the watch time and lacking subs this is genius

Really interesting. Through my own research, I've had similar results and found that subscribers gained are being included in the eligible count, but likewise the views are definitely not counting. Not stopping me continue to develop my channel though and publish weekly.
You mean, the views gained from the promotion period doesn't count to YPP monetization requirements?

@@LifeOdysseyMotivation shorts views do count towards YPP. For full monetisation you need either 4000 watch hours (in last 365 days) or 10mil shorts views (in last 90 days).

I'll be honest I really don't see the use of this other than potentially artificially inflating your subscriber numbers. I very much doubt these subscribers become active watchers, which is surely what you want from subscribers, and even if they do become active then wouldn't it affect the cpm you can achieve when monetized if your audience is mostly coming from low cpm countries? Overall this just feels like a way for people who feel inadequate about their sub count to get to flex a bit. I'd much rather organically grow subscribers and hope that they come back for more content. Even if it takes longer.
Aside from hitting the monetisation requirements, a practical use case for having more subscribers is it would allow you to collab with larger creators... But that's a little greyhat, so didn't mention in the video...
@@Marcus-Jones I am sceptical about that (the collab idea), can't say it would be a great look for a channel to have a disproportionately low amount of views for it's sub count (check evilass in the comments, he has close to 9m subs but his most popular video doesn't even break 100k views).
Edit: not saying that it can't happen, just that it ain't really that enticing.
I'm finding value in this Beta promotions. The direct watch hours don't count toward monetization but the promotions have increased videos' authority and increased them being suggested to wider audiences. Hopefully the gained subs don't turn out to be bots or something lol but that would be against YT ToS. I think the total subs of 5k is due to the videos getting more organic views due to the attention from the ad and getting subscribers naturally.
I gave this a try and followed your instructions. I have my watch hours, but not many subs. So far on day 2 of the promo, and subs have gone from 420 to 661. Great trick to help get monetized. Thanks

Good stuff, but when I go to Promotions on my channel studio, it says that subs through a promotion do not contribute to RUclips Partner eligibility.
@@advancedhittingtraining8233 ya for some reason it seems to count toward the subscriber count, but i dont think the watch hrs. Perhaps its a error in youtube code or somthing, because i was notified i have the requirments now to apply for monetization. 🤔
Update: I ran a $50CAD promo following these instructions for under 2 weeks, i went from 420 Subs to 1,673 subs. These DID count towards monetization for me, and was approved within 24 hrs. Somthing to note, i had my watch hrs already. And The data that shows how many subs are from this promo doesnt add up with my channel. But for my particular circumstance this worked and has motivated me to start putting out "How to" content in my Niche. Thanks for this video!! :)

I'm struggling to get both subscribers and watch time. I interview fairly famous people in the Paranormal field, yet just cannot get my subs/watch time up. I appreciate that over time I'd need to improve my equipment/look etc but to get started, without throwing silly money at it - it's really hard.
