Cowboys would sometimes wear extra long pants and roll the cuffs for an extra pocket to carry cigarettes and other small items while in the saddle. Lot of pictures from the 30s and 40s exhibit this
These are the only jeans I ever wear. Either in stonewash or indigo. I usually by them 5 pairs at a time. Once the ones for work are too worn out I’ll by 5 more “every day” pairs. I’ve been rotating this way my whole adult life and probably always will
You should check out Kimes Ranch jeans, maybe not their raw denim ones unless you like that stuff. I've heard nothing but great stuff from people who work in them.

@@JeremiahCraig : In my opinion, the 13 MWZ (In general) are too baggy, squared shaped and shapeless, but to each their own. For the most part, I haven't gone wrong with the 936's, although I have had to have some pairs (¿ Irregular?) taken in.
@@JeremiahCraig maybe you accidently got the premium performance one? They aren't the real deal. I have a pair of rigid 936 and love them but since I am still growing, they are too short now. They were stiff, of course. But after washing them I liked them, the fit was great. I also got one with premium performance which looks good because of the stonewash but is too slim in my opinion.
Got my first pair of 13MWZ at the same time I got my first pair of boots. Unfortunately lockdown hasn't been great for my waist line so they are a little tight at the moment. however that pair are 15 years old and still going strong. Think I prefer the colour with the brown boots, that black boots don't look bad but the brown ones are definitely better.
if you don't have the Black Whiskey color of these jeans then i highly recommend getting them. They are the best looking jeans I've ever seen. I absolutely love the color of them.
This is my “go to” style. They look good with all the boots. I’m breaking in some boots today. One’s that fit a bit snug. Just spending a few hours in each pair. My new lizards are tight but will be fine. Thanks, Peace.
Been wearing 13MWZ's for decades. They are a rodeo classic and none better in my mind. Those trail dust color are probably pre-washed like the 13MWZPW in the regular denim color. The original 13MWZ are rigid and need a few washings before wearing. They are still sold at Tractor Supply among many other places. For whatever reason I think the originals fit a little different than the pre-washed which have more of the "pinching" issue you talked about.

I love wranglers but most of them seem short rise to me and they cut off circulation. Maybe the higher rise would be better for me? I have traildust in other makers jeans and they go good with most boots IMHO. For your video it was the Caimen and the ropers that did the trick for me.
Hell yeah i love those jeans! especially the silver edition i have 4 black pairs and 2 of the the grey slim version. they definitely feel like they will hold up and pretty thick for $40.
I think it has something to do with that color and the fabric on the roper stacking. I wore 13 mwz rigid jeans and ropers for 10 years and never had that issue.

I have more room in the snip toes but it's a wider size. Toe shape is not supposed to alter fit but it does almost always does with off the shelf boots since there are so few widths available

Have you tried the slim fit cowboy cut? They are basicly the same but slimmer. I dated a guy back in the day who the regular 13mwz didn't quite look or feel right in him so he ended up with the slim fit.
For me, any kind of jean looks AWSOME with ANY pair of cowboy boots! I prefer loose fitting jeans with mine. Not baggy or tight. I even wear my boots with shorts!!

Geat review, nice colour but they just dont look right at the hips and groin region. i prefer the levis 527 slim fit low cut boot leg jean. ive seen you wear and review them and they are probably the best looking jean you’ve put on. I have a few pairs but just cant find genuine ones here in the UK any more. plenty of fakes. so now i have no option but to go to a tailor and get some jeans made in the exact same cut as my original 527’s. they are in a class of their own in terns of fit and style. that trail dust colour in the wranglers is pretty neat so i would consider getting taht colour denim and getting a 527 cut made…….

i literally just bought 2 pairs about a week ago, wearing a pair right now, very comfortable, The Wrangler tag on back pocket looks really cheesy though. $19.97 on Amazon for the Blue ones.
Depends really on how big your thighs and butt are. If you want that right wrangler butt look just try on a couple of different sizes depending on your body type. I've seen fat guys wear them and they look thinner, and skinny guys wear them that don't make them look like they are swimming in them or have a diaper on.
First time trying these jeans out recently.. I usually just wear a relaxed fit or a regular boot cut.. but I noticed the pguard. On these were alot shorter depth wise than typical on all the jeans I've worn since I was little.. I could barely fit my full hand in them. Is this normal for the 13mwz..? Or did I really get 2 pairs in a row from Amazon with shallow misstitched pockets lol.. random question I know.. threw me off gaurd.

13mwzs have more room in the thigh and butt. 936 gives you that “wrangler butts drive me nuts” look tighter in butt and thigh. You have to try on a few sizes depending on your body type.

The short boots like a Roper are out!!😅 That color of jean is like a neutral color. They are light colored enough to be versatile with almost any color of boots. I find that the high rise jeans are not as comfortable to wear if you are used to wearing either a low rise or medium rise jean. Those Stetson lizard square toed boots are a nice size of square toe, not as blocky looking as the full size square toe with a double stitched welt. The other boots all work but the J toe is definitely a classy looking toe shape that is pretty much wearable for any occasion. Well done Jeremiah 👍
My biggest issue with Wranglers (aside from my George Strait pair), is they aren' cut well for a guy who does lots of lunges and RDL's in the gym. Very hard to feel like it's not sloppy big, but not grabbing your balls tight either. Or they're so high in the rise, I feel like a 25 year old girl, in order for the crotch to be wear it needs to be in order to not restrict my leg movement.

Hi Jeremiah 2 things... When I wear my ropers w/ wranglers, the only jeans I wear w/ boots, I take a shoelace and run it through the handholds on each side at the top of the boot and tie the top of the boot back. I know it's not proper boot-wearing but it gives you that stacked look all the way down to the heel of the boot. I know with your body type if you got the right size of wrangler 936`s you would love them. If they are too loose at 32w go up to 30w.I wear my 936`s at the hip but I have big thighs. I have a 34w but get 36w.They kind of bunch up at the fly but it doesn't look bad in fact I like the look . I can send you a pic if you give me a way to do it. ¡ Yes ! If you know how to adequately care for denim, the dark navy blue Silver Edition jeans (933 SEDD'S) aquire awesome contrasting fades over time.
Wash it a couple times and it may start feeling just right. It started feeling a whole lot softer after 1 wash. Totally would go for them again.

The pockets on these are much shallower than other brands

They are. Slightly higher rise too but theres more leg opening than the 501.
I bought a black pair the other day. In order to save the boys, I decided to buy a 33-34 instead of my normal 32-34. It works.

Personally I find these wranglers very tight in the crotch area causing tight pockets. I’ve heard of other people having this problem also

I've done that shoelace trick before! Shown it in my video for the Dan Post Milwaukee boots. Also I tried the 936 and have a video about those too. I don't like them at all. 13mwzs are much better. Thanks for watching Joe!
