New subscriber, looking forward to taking a look around your channel. So great to find a fellow Canadian RUclipsr. We have just started our homesteading channel and are enjoying all the Canadian content we are finding. Thanks for sharing, great video.
Hey! Thanks for checking us out. Best of luck with your homestead. Great to connect with fellow Canadians on here :)
Nice house guys, congrats. My wife and i have been thinking about moving central/northeastern Ontario. Our jobs rely on industry, so it makes it difficult to find a location that pays well, and has amenities close by. As well as having a bush life style as well.
Hey Dan! Thanks so much for your kind feedback. We appreciate it! The hunt can be tricky, especially when you're trying to consider job availability. For us, it was finding a rural location that still provided adequate internet which did limit us as well. Best of luck to you and your wife! Keep us posted :)
I think you bought the house we had our eye on. It's taken a while now but we decided to start a homestead way up in the Timmins area where we're from. Wish us luck!
Haha no way! What a small world.
Best of luck with your new adventure ❤️😊
I grew up in north bay. You made a great choice moving to northern Ontario. The winters are harsh but beautiful.
You're not too far then! It's gorgeous up here, even in the winter though you're right that they can be rough at times.
LOVE LOVE LOVE finding new local youtube channels so cool! I love it, beautiful home... Look forward to following your channel!
Thanks so much!! I guess we need to get back to posting lol
I grew up in Northern Ontario and I've been in the GTA for the last 17-ish years...but I finally (think) I convinced my husband to go back to my hood! I've been looking at vacant land this week and making some loose-ish plans to get the wheels in motion! Looking at West Nipissing (between North Bay and Sudbury, about 4 hours from Toronto) which is where I'm from...where are you guys located?
That’s awesome! You must be so excited to move back home.
We are just south of there in the Almaguin Highlands area. Not too far from North Bay!
Hi I just found your channel and I am so happy that I get to see you and your husband and 3 wonderful dogs live on a remote piece of land. I'm sure that the house is done by now, but I can't wait to see a new episode. Will you get any livestock or chickens?
Hey hey! Yes we are well overdue for a new video. We are mostly done. No livestock unfortunately as we still want to be able to travel. But we have our garden on the go and lots of canning!
If I were you I’d invest in a good snow blower. After we find a house here in New Hampshire . We are looking for a secluded property because the natives aren’t very friendly. We want as little contact as possible.
what will be your source of income in rural Canada?? what sort of employment is available for you people?
What are your plans for example you're out of gas or your car broke down, how are you guys going to get to some basic establishments like supermarkets?
We have more than one vehicle. There are also services such as CAA available.
We are new to your channel! We ended up in a random place in Ontario too...Looking forward to watching your journey!
Thanks so much and best of luck on your journey as well!
wow u r awesome love your vids keep them coming you are a very good speaker great sense of humors u made my day thx.
Thank you so much for the kind feedback, John! We appreciate it!
Did you achieve the goal of drastically lowering your monthly expenses?
Yup! Our cost of living has gone down a lot between cutting out a mortgage and downsizing our home which has lowered monthly bills.
We are also planning to move away from toronto. Thinking of london.
Oh nice! That’s an awesome area. I (Kayla) went to Western. Lots of great spots around London.
Living Redefined in what location is your new home?
We’re in the Almaguin Highlands area. Just north of Muskoka 😊
The lake clip looks like hwy 17 near mattawa? We might be neighbors, we have a homestead in Northern Ontario.
Hey! That's awesome :) We're not quite that far north but that's a beautiful area as well.
Living Redefined we are south of north bay. Looking forward to following your adventure !
@@HuntANtrap Oh cool! We're not too far then :)
Great, even we are planning to move to a similar place in North ontario. It is very beautiful
That's awesome! It really is beautiful up here.
Very cool! Subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
Loving your videos so far!
Glad you like them! Thanks!!
Thanks for your video. I just sold my home in the GTA. Now I am searching for land where I can build a small home. I would appreciate any advice on location as well as any reference for custom home builders. Thanks
Hey there - congrats on selling your home. Unfortunately, I'm not able to offer any recommendations on specific builders.
Location will come down to a number of factors based on your preferences. This video outlines a few things to consider and may be helpful in your decision:

I am in the midst of doing that, house goes on sale this fall. I will be building my new house and have done a lot of research, be glad to try and help in any way of I can.
Hey congratulations for your house, i want to know about the internet service you were talking about in starting how is it cheap in that area and which internet service you get there?
Hey there - We currently use Bell. We get unlimited for about $75/mo with up to 10gb download speed.
Do you have summer video of this place ?
Hey! We have some video clips scattered in amongst our other videos of the views in the summer, but haven't yet filmed a summer tour. Once the last of the snow melts and everything turns green again, we'll do that :) Hope all is well!
@@LivingRedefined thank you. I will be waiting for the video
@@jatinpreet8682 Sounds good! :)
What is the area called as? This looks beautiful!
We’re in Almaguin Highlands :)
I really have a question. Hope someone could help. I really want to escape the urban life and move to rural life but I am scared not to be accepted in the community because we are from another country. Please don’t take it other wise will it be hard for other community to mix with the people around ?
Oh btw i already live in Canada for the past 21 years in mtl but I want to move out of here to move in couple of years but I’m scared I never saw people from our communities wanting this life they want more like a urban life. That’s why I’m worried will people be rude if we move and if we will be able to mix around. Living with few kind of people scared me to a point and also making me ask this question I’m so sorry 😢 I hope I didn’t upset anyone 🙏🏻 just want to get some clarity that’s it’s possible even for us 🙏🏻🥲🙌🏻
Hey there - It’s difficult to give you a direct answer or opinion. There are good and bad people everywhere, and your experience can differ greatly depending on the people you happen to meet. You may consider visiting an area a few times before making a permanent move. That gives you a chance to familiarize yourself with the amenities, what the area is like and the services offered and even meet some people ahead of time.
@@LivingRedefined oh thank you so much. Yes for sure you are right 🙏🏻 thank you once again for giving me hope that’s it’s possible
I have found multi-culturalism in the most surprising out-of-the-way places. Look up the local restaurants in a place to see what is available and you may find there are members of your culture already living there. Visit events, arts festivals, and farmers' markets in the community. Look at their websites and businesses. I have found many small rural towns are very open and welcoming, and the variety of their events and businesses have been a clue to that.
How much did the house cost ?
Hello - We are still building so we don't have a specific sale price for the house.
Looks like you're not far out enough cause i think you have neighbors
Curious - what are your internet speeds?
We get about 9 mbps down and .85 mbps up.
Not really fast enough to run a youtube channel so we either upload videos overnight or drive until we get an LTE connection and upload with a hotspot!
Thanks - I assume that you're on a wired (DSL) connection when at home? I'm thinking of making a move from Toronto to rural Ontario as well... I have the option to work from home 90% of the time, but I would need decent internet for Skyp/WebEx/Zoom, etc. If you have DSL, you should see if your provider supports MLPPP to double or triple (or more) your connection speeds. :-)
@@JDOG1337 Yeah, we're on a wired connection at home. Ours is sufficient for Skype and web calls.
We will look into that. Thanks for the info!
Hello mam can any indian come Canada please tell me process
Unfortunately, we're not familiar with the immigration process. I'd recommend getting in touch with an immigration professional who'd be able to better guide you on the process. Best of luck!
Just clicked on your story, out of interest do you meditate?
Unfortunately, we do not.
I want you to help me going to Canada beautiful madam
