What a pleasure on a wet Sunday afternoon to stay indoors and watch you battle the elements. I’ve just spent 3 good days camping and walking in the Peak District and now watching another of your wonderful adventures has left me wanting to get out again. All of the people I’ve camped with over recent months really just do it for the nights camping which I’ve found difficult to understand as for me like yourself it’s all about the journey. Thanks Dave for another great video. 👌👍🙏🍻😊
I'm glad that I brightened up your day Dave. I know exactly what you mean with regards to some wild campers. The sleeping in the tent and associated chores are what they desire. I love the freedom that backpacking gives me. I can explore an area, a route and when I want to stop, put my tent down and sleep. Then move on and do it again. I'm with you on that aspect of what we love doing.
Hopefully you'll get there soon Rob. Andy Parker is a great physio and I'm sure he's put you on the right track. You'll be like a wound up spring when you're set loose!!
I recognise a few locations, being born and raised in Okehampton. Shame the weather wasn't the best, the moor can certainly be a bleak place. Great video as always.
What a fabulous place to have been raised Kev. I can understand your love of the hills as you were brought up on them. I loved the concept of a 5 day trip from your town and I see many more opportunities too.
Hard weather punctuated by lovely brightness on those beautiful moors, thank you for filming it. Struck me that it's increasingly unusual to see people battling with paper maps in the wind and rain!
Two of the old guard are Andrew and Jason Catherine!! Whikst both have GPS units, they like to keep their skills going! I was happy to follow and film for a change! Thanks for dropping by!
That looked a testing couple of days Dave. When the weather was good though glad to say you managed to capture some cracking footage of Dartmoor.. an area unfamiliar to me = think the only Tor I have visited has been Haytor - Deb & I walked up there years ago when we was on one of our away trips to Exeter. Have to say it looks bleak, but none the less beautiful. I see Jason & Andrew didn't bother with the long trousers, tough pair...lol. Good watch as always. atb Al
I'm a bit surprised to read that you don't know Dartmoor as well. I thought youight have ventured down with photography in mind. Some of the tors are very photogenic for sure. Yes, skin is waterproof I guess re Jason and Andrew. 😂 Lots more opportunities from what I can see re multi day trips to Dartmoor.
Ah the fickle UK weather. I guess I hit the same yellow weather warning as you. Shame you did not get some better days. I have only been to Dartmoor once, to do a mountain marathon, and I didn't see anything for two days. Looks an interesting area with some great wild camping spots by the tors. Thanks for taking us along. Pain au Chocolat for breakfast ? That's nearly as bad as Dave Goodman taking his pajamas. Oh, and I remember you asking what I filmed on. GoPro10. No worries about it getting wet !
In my defence, it was one of those piddly little ones from Aldi, but decadent in a tent nonetheless. Thanks for info re GoPro10. I was more interested in how you process on the trail. Assuming that you transfer data from SD card to your phone and then use App to process? I am going to treat myself later this year to a GoPro as the wind issues on the phone are almost impossible to manage. Assuming you've finished the CW now? I check every day to see whether you've uploaded!
Great video Dave 😊 thank you for going to all the trouble to make it 🎉
Hey, you're very, very welcome. It has documented a wonderful trip and captured some of the challenges I think.

Another great video - thank you Dave
Thank you so much Janet. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. It was a fun but challenging trip!!
Very envious to see others out walking, still not able to get out myself!
