Thanks for posting this. I randomly went into this tour with my family back when I was a kid, about 35 yeas ago. They let my little sister sit in the wooden chair against the wall. We still have a picture of her in the chair. Great memories😢
I miss this attraction. Went with my friends after it was unknowingly torn down. It wasn't on the map and much of the staff was new and didn't know about it, thus my friends weren't convinced it was a real thing and said I hallucinated it. Eventually found someone who worked there that knew of it and told us it was torn down. I was happy to prove to my friends that I wasn't crazy, but sad it was gone. I had this same guide the second time I went, thought his accent was strong and difficult to understand. The first time I went we had a snarky, clear, and well spoken older gentleman.
There WAS a special effect at the end. The lights would dim and then black lights would light up the room differently as skeletons in fluorescent paint.
You were missing out. I went several times as a kid and it was cool as hell. Yeah, during the intro where the tour guid lectures before was kinda scary but the “ ride” was amazing!
oh wow, i didn't know it closed down in around 2000 'cause i definitely remember going through this at least once! i liked their "Danger: baby rattles" barrel joke near the entrance lol
"Bad day to go to the bathroom" ya, when everything's tilted like an earthquake hit it...Well this IS California "Coca Cola makes terrible bottles" WHERE IS THIS GUY?! I WANT HIM! XD The dude that turns into a skeleton is in the undertakers place. I know it's done with lights and Mirrors, but I still want to know the secret
I visited this thing dozens of times as a kid and this guy is the worst tour guide I've ever seen. He barely has the power of speech. Be great of someone would subtitle this video. Jeez.
Awww ....The good old days.... loved it as a kid.... although as an adult I guess you tend to make fun of it as they are.... and the employees were a lot more into it not just making up some really corny jokes....... but that's what we get with these millennials....
I used to love this as a kid
One of the best attractions at knotts miss it
I miss that place

So many others out there do too. You're definitely not alone in that sentiment.
So is nobody going to mention how dang haunted this shack is?! 😨
I remember this, it was a lot of fun. Do they still have this?
Closed in 2000.
Came here from Expedition Theme Park's video. Glad you have this footage.
You're welcome!

Wholeheartedly agree after all these years!
Some day that the uploader likes every comment on this video, but I think they should bring back the shack
I remember the joke they used to say at the start - "Sit only in the first 3 rows." There were only 3 rows!
Lol I remember that! The tour guide was a king of a troll.
I wish this place wasn't torn down. It would be so fun to go there!
+Tomish Smith It sure was! Calico Ghost Town out in Yermo, CA still has theirs.
Oh! That's nice to know. I'll have to go there sometime. Thanks!
Tomish Smith I agree.

I'm thinking that happened when it was a Haunt maze.
How did they built it ?
With some good ol' fashioned elbow grease back in the day.
Returning for the 100th anniversary by the Calico Bank
I remember when I was a kid they had this, but I was too scared to go. My older sister went and said it was pretty cool. I wish I had gone :(
+Sir Isaac It was definitely memorable. Thanks for watching!

The baby rattles is still at knotts bear the Boot Hill cemetery
I got to sit in the chair as a kid. I was at the kind of age where I actually believed this stuff was possible.
Awww! I miss the Mystery Shack! At least they still have the one in Calico! :)
very sad it's not there anymore.
My favorite amusement in the 60s.
I remember this in 1998 lol. I was 8 now I’m 32 lol
That tour guide's voice is so annoying.
My fav thing as a kid. So miss it!
do you know when the haunted shack was a maze during knotts scary farm halloween haunt?
+myttast Yes, it was utilized as a maze from 1973 till its closure in 2000.
I wish the two guys trying to be funny would just let the guy do his job!
