Sigh ..you absolutely don't and sounds like your local dealer lied to you like so many do. There's no toyota taking more than 3 months to arrive. But you cannot (I can't stress this enough) cannot order a toyota .any toyota . There's no ordering system or dealers would have a ton of them. A set number of every model and configuration is pre-planned and sent to the factory to be built. Then each dealer depending on their sales numbers gets allocated a certain amount of them .of those they are allocated , they can request changes if they are fast enough to try and swap for options the customer wants , but there's no guarantee to get a perfect match or even get any changes approved. Most dealers happily take deposits and then as they're telling you it's delayed etc they are crossing fingers to get an allocation and if they do then they're crossing fingers to get it modified. Most folks have been flying all over the country for 3 years now if they want something specific because otherwise the cars just get randomly sent out and if you want something like a cavalry rav or a venza with specifics..there likely is very few being made with those specs and if every dealer wants one only a few will get them .and dealer trades have been nonexistent for years now . I'll send customers a text when we get one allocated and tell them the build date and eta and see if the features work for them and if so I will get a $1000 deposit immediately. Because the odds of a new Toyota making it all the way to the lot not presole is very very slim and if it does it will be sold in hours .

If it had more cargo space I’d buy in a heartbeat. Unfortunately that’s a deal breaker for me but I can see why this car is attractive to many
