Hello everyone, I'm Rose from Uganda. My Chinese husband and our son (Anzai) live with me in a rural village in China. I share with you the joys of cooking and daily life in rural China!

Rose, I’ve said before and I’ll continue to say it always, you ARE amazing! Mr. Wu Jianyun asks for a late night snack and you spend 2 hours making homemade hot dog buns-even while wearing a face mask. My hubby asks for a late night snack, and he will get popcorn, or we will hop into the car, and drive to Sonic or McDonald’s. You are a true inspiration to this wife (me)! The next time my hubs wants a late night snack, I’m going to shock him and make him a homemade hot dog! 😅 Please write a cookbook! I would so support you by purchasing one!

I love this couple, so selfless to one another. When the husband was asked if he was hungry, he said a bit. Even at other times when asked if he is tired and you can see he is really tired, he initially says no, when probed further says only a little. I love the way you both go all out to give to the other person. God bless you.

Rose and Wu are the richest people... we think having lots of money and big homes and fancy cars and designer clothes is happiness when it's the exact opposite.... all those things mean nothing and are worthless compared to the riches of healthy fresh food, a helping community and happy a family.
