I’m from Uganda and people from the tribe that Rose comes from are generally really nice and very hard working. I hope she can share more of their way of life when she comes back to Uganda, you’ll see where it comes from. But also she seems well loved and supported by those around her so I guess that helps

Hi Rose. I live in a place that produces a lot of corn. We are known for it and the taste of our tomatoes. We use it for tortilla shells, on the cob, ground into meals, and to feed animals. Same as you probably. I'm glad to see you're doing great. Love your videos. Makes me realize we all go through the same stuff every day.

You know this child is a true representation of the parents especially her mother who brought her up so well, so respectful, so considerate, so warm, so kind and so funny too. She comes from a very good home. If ever her mother were to visit China all the villages would want to shake the hands of the woman who did a sterling job in the way she brought up rose. It is always a pleasure and joy to watch her. No airs and graces, just so down to earth and very approachable. My mother always said to me and my siblings that when we went anywhere the way we behaved was a reflection of her and the way she brought us up. It was always at the back of our minds when ever we were at school, playing with friends or even visiting.

Plus I love how many are surprised that miss Rose is so fluent in the dialects. No surprised part of my heritage is Chinese Jamaican and many are surprised I knew the many Asian dialects due to my skin tone, but they forgot to look at other distinguished features like my eyes, hair, etc.

Kingdomdaughter, that's because most Chinese who were born in Jamaica actually don't speak Chinese. They don't have a need to unless their parents mainly communicate in Chinese. Anyway, due to the violence, I'm glad that I no longer live there. Life was so hard there.

RUclips channel and it has been the most inspiring thing I have seen..I.enjoy watching with a deep sense of wonderment..I am intrigued at how down to earth you and your husband are. The communal way you live in the village. The way neighbors help each other and show love to each other. I am totally impressed at your flawless way you speak Mandarin..A very difficult language to learn..You are a true linguist.. I have a new found respect for people who live in close knit communities as yours. The natural surroundings, the way of life. The fresh foods.. Everything has given me a total new perspective on life.

What you are cooking with the corn Rose, in the US (South& Southwest States) it's called green corn tamales. Except they put cheese and green chili on top of dough/batter, close up the leaf and steam- delicious 🌽. Please try it.
*Instructions*
Just how you made your batter ( but a tad less watery) add a tad of baking powder ( to rise) then roast and cut green chili into strips and shred yellow cheese. So just how you have the batter on leaf, put a couple of slices of green chili and sprinkle cheese on top of the chili. Then fold one end to the middle and fold the other end side to the middle, then fold bottom part to the top upwards so nothing falls out. Then steam. Once it's done let is sit a bit so tamale is not soggy ( almost like when you make cookies you wait for them to cool down a bit so they aren't soft & soggy), and there you have it Rose- Green corn tamales.
Because corn is in season you could make green corn tamales and sell- you would make lots of money.
( There are other recipes containing other ingredients for green corn tamales, but what you have going would make very good ones).
