I wish they would stop saying that turn is an easy skill. It's much harder with a leg held up. And typically, dance elements to some gymnasts are harder than the acrobatic elements. I swear. These commentators see someone stumble on a turn, "Oh, it's such an easy skill." And then they go and bitch about that for the rest of the routine.

The scoring at those games was absolutely atrocious- especially on beam. Other countries got destroyed on scores for the smallest bobbles and errors while China was given blatantly inflated scores. They still did win but the margin should have been significantly smaller. of course shawn isn't perfect...she has her mistakes for example, like you said, the landing, but compared with shanshan li she doesn't make these little mistakes...i think this gymnast was a little bit angry about herself, because propably in every training she does she did it perfect...but that is what makes the difference to shawn.
and sorry maybe i get completly wrong what you say because it's hard to understand your english ;)) but i try

really silly mistakes tim? then us falling off the beam must have been a big big ooopsie, now, wasnt it?
tim and elfie are ridiculous when critiquing other nations. its unfair. that was excellent. li shanshan brought it hardcore.

@wg1989 only if they could live stream the olympics on BBC america then people would stop complaining lol. I really like the NBC commentators usually..here they were more nitpicky. I believe its producers in the background telling topics to talk about or things to say and remind the views of.

i know this turn is difficult. i know it because i do train this too...but i mean especially the pose with the 1/2 turn. she is really amazing and she does the most difficult things nearly perfect. but i feel sorry for her that she has 2 mistakes that could be betteri'm sure she could. and i ask you friendly not to be so rude and say i don't know anything about gymnastic just because YOU don't understand my point of view.

This guy really had the audacity to call balance checks "silly" mistakes as if a balance check isn't a gymnast trying to make sure she stays on the beam. Yeah, fuck it, just fall off next time so you don't make any "silly" mistakes.

@proudpotterfan 1.a full turn with leg at horizontal is i think. a normal full turn is an a. (pirouettes.) i dont know why he said that was an easy skill! silly comentators.
    2. the wobble was on a half turn, which wasnt really a skill, so apparently thats stupid in his eyes, even though its on a beam, at the olympics...
BBC is soo much better! :)

oh and my third disappointment with this comment: "stupid unimportant poses?" seriously, it makes me want to give you a break because I seriously question how much you know about gymnastics. The full turn is one of the most messed up skills. It may look easy, but every gymnast has trouble with that turn, often leads to deductions in even the most poised gymnastics. Shawn has on occasion been deducted for wobbles on it.
