Another great posting Tom. You are definitely my go-to when doing my homework on potential tent purchases. Always well considered observations/reviews from someone who walks the walk so know's what does and does not work, or knows the limitations of certain designs and features. Keep them coming. Well done on reaching 10k, you deserve triple that and I am sure you will get there and beyond in the future.
Hey thank you for the comment.. I really appreciate your positive feedback...I do try to be as fair as possible.. best wishes and thank you once again... Tom
I’ve been researching tents for weeks, trying to work out what one to buy. I’ve decided this is the one. I know that design is going to be super strong. I like the simplicity too. I didn’t prioritise lightness but I’ll take it.
Hi yes I really like this tent as its very spacious and pretty strong.. I like the next ten fabric too... The inner door is a bit small but apart from that its pretty great... best wishes Tom
Great review, Tom! The fact that so many RUclipsrs complimented your video is a testament to your excellent work. If you had to choose only one tent between this one and the Scarp 1 Ultra, which would you choose?
Hi thank you for the comment. I'd still take the Scarp as it's strong having more poles and supporting rods and enough space.. But when the one person design of the ArcDome comes out that would be a harder decision.. best wishes Tom
You had me at the solo, been looking for my 4 season and you have made my mind up so big thank you although little concerned about the small inner door. Love the ring idea 🙌🙌
Hi Tom. What is your experience of pitching the ArcDome in strong wind? I’ve just come back from a trip where I had to really battle the tent to get it pitched. The main problem was that until the structure was up and the corner sleeve guys secured, the poles would just flatten making it incredibly difficult to get first 1 pole and then the 2nd through the sleeves and pegged out. Winds were recorded at constant 25, gusting to 35. I’ve had/got several tents and this was by far the most frustration I’ve had pitching any tent in the wind.
@@grahamthornton1683 Hi Graham, yes on one occasion I had a hard pitch in the wind with the ArcDome2.. its just a problem with dome dents that have pole sleeves and especially large tents supported by only two poles.. 25 gusting to 35 is a difficult pitch for a few tents.. I was very frustrated too as the ground was also uneven and this made it even harder... its just a trade off having such a large tent that is very light.. I dont know much of a way around it to be honest.. best wishes and I hope your future camps work out better... Tom
@ yes, agree with your thoughts. There’s a lot to like about the arcdome, but I think I’ll be taking my scarp 1 ultra out when winds are over 25mph. The arcdome is super sturdy in strong wind when it’s up…but getting it up can be a challenge!
You summed it up for me Tom at the end. Too much panel area for the frame but I agree, I reckon a one person version would be a great option and worth buying. Atb Andrew
Hey Andrew thank you for watching and taking the time to comment and sharing your thoughts and experience... Maybe I will get the chance to test it a bit more.. I hope the one person version won't be too long away.. I hope you are well.. best wishes Tom

I hold your Unna review in high regards. Would you take this or the Unna? They aren’t exactly the same tents, but do have overlapping use cases. Thoughts?
I would take this one.. Its bigger inside and in the vestibules..It has two vestibules.. just as strong and much lighter, better ventilation, and feels next generation with the fabric.... I hope this helps.. best wishes Tom

It's great to see new fabrics on tents. Silnylon has been around for many, many years and it has its cons. But at the same time it's proven to be very reliable ompared to many newer fabrics. Wonder how durable ultra tnt is compared to a good silnylon. Time will tell, I guess. Thanks for sharing, getting second thoughts on getting the Hilleberg Unna now :D
