A great, great band that never got the following they so richly deserved. Their catalog is strong, but the Ring CD is especially strong. Glad they are still at it! What a treat, especially during the pandemic...
I did NOT expect to see/hear a Covid-era version of Slackjawed. And I'm so glad I did. They sound great, and it's a great song that stands the test of time.
one of my all-time top five favorite bands all the way through college all the way through today....I make my kids listen to it I’m 53 I’m a little concerned about McMillan though he doesn’t look so hot . Hope no health issues going on ...but I don’t know there’s still a great band I love em all.... hope he’s well
I know what you mean, I’ve been a fan since one simple word came out..I’ve watched live clips in recent years and doug’s voice was not the same and he couldn’t perform well..so it’s wonderful to see him sounding better than ever in this..hope they keep going, I will always follow them.
IMO Doug has looked kind of suspect for years. If I had to guess I'd say it's from heavy drinking. The times I saw them live, he drank constantly throughout the set & usually could barely stand up by the end.
I'm glad I stumbled across the comments, so I can throw in my two cents... First of all, MacMillan doesn't have the same voice, range, or pitch he used to... As far as health issues are concerned, MacMillan did have diverticulitis years ago which impacted one of their tours in the late 90's. And I also have to agree with the posts regarding some of MacMillan's onstage drinking. I've seen some shows in the past where I thought he was doing his best impression of Paul Westerberg and the Replacements. However, if I had to wager a guess about his voice and look, I'd say it was strictly age catching up... Remember, Bono from U2 doesn't have the same look and definitely doesn't have the same sound... Nonetheless, this was a good trip down memory lane with a preview of things to come...
@@splash733 No I started seeing them in 1991 through 1994 along with some awesome bands in Athens, Rem, temple of the dog, Allgood, The Panic just to name a few was quite a solid time in Athens back then, Plus all the great bar specials and riding along in Your cab, precursor to Uber lol. It was like a party trolley in sketchy vans. Awesome time!!!!!
@@splash733 I have seen them play, in Atlanta, Athens, Charlotte, Columbia SC, Virginia and Tennessee, that was a good time in life, that means I am getting older 50 now, so I assume you are there or a bit older. 🍻
@@MrJinske Yep 51. Let's see I recall seeing them at the Uptown, the GA Tech campus, Auburn campus/frat party, Little 5 Points in Atlanta, Center Stage in Atlanta, & maybe a few places I'm forgetting. This was all from '89-'91 before moving out west. And I remember Guthrie's 😁
Will the show from February 26, 2021 be available for viewing in the near future? I watched it several times the week I bought the pass, but it was limited to only a week. Thank you.
The new album yet to come is going to be called Steadman's Wake, and has a song by the same name so I think its Steadman's Wake, since its in the lyrics!

A great continuation of a truly underrated band.
It really means a lot to see these guys play new songs. Looking forward to the new album.
This band means the world to some folks who mean the world to me. They got new music in 2021!
Wow...waited a long time this year for their return, but they sound great. Looking forward to new album next year. Stay well guys.
Awesome performance by an awesome, criminally underrated band. ❤
May your favorite band never breakup.
I absoutely love this. Big up the Connels from mother Яussia
Can't wait for the new album. The new songs easily rank amongst their best!

Awesome Band, I had many, many fun nights in Athens, GA with these guys playing live, and great chill music!! Great to see them still rockin.
Do you recall seeing them at the Uptown Lounge in '89? I was at that show. Pretty awesome night.

They're sounding like NC's answer to The Tragically Hip. And that is a good thing.
Very well done. Looking forward to the new album.
Really great to see this band, love the new songs. Awesome!
thank you so very much for this!
Hey, how about posting the streamed show from Feb 26, 2021. I would be extremely grateful.

Whats the song on 13:43, very like it. Who knows? Sounds great (never heard it before, sounds like Neil Young style)
