Lived in St Louis from 1987-1994. Union Station was THE place to go to spend an afternoon to meet friends, dine, shop and just hang out. We would usually walk down to the arch at some point. Miss those days!

So glad you captured the heyday of Union Station as a mall. Thank you for sharing it!😊

I would give a year's wages to spend even one day in 1990 St. Louis.

This is when it was a mall, and still hosted Scoops of Fun where you could sample ice cream for just an entry fee (like $1 or $2).

1:18 was my favorrite store- Zarfas Luggage & Gifts. If I could ever build a time machine, I'd go back to the 90's when Zarfas was in multiple St Louis malls (we had one in St Clair Square).

We used to love going there before St. Louis Blues games or just to hang out with friends for no special occasion. Houlihan's was where we liked to go. I loved sitting outside by the water hanging out with friends. That place was packed on the weekends! Great times! The mall section had a lot of very unique stores that you didn't see at your typical mall. It was beautiful as far as malls can be. They did such a great job remodeling the place. What a shame to see it die off like that. Yes, they are trying to revive it, but only time will tell how well that works.

To bad Union Station now has become a sub-par shitty Aquarium for kids pretty much.

Yeah I went there to show someone that was visiting St. Louis for the fist time and I was kinda shocked how dead it was and of course there were people hanging out and asking about our cameras like we were about to get robbed it felt really sad about all the restoration that had gone into the place but now it just another empty mall

Wonderful memories at Union Station, especially on hot summer nights. A beautiful place to escape when most of the ppl in the city/counties are tucked away for the night. A beautiful place. Great food, entertainment and the hotel at the time was Omni. So nice.

It's still sitting right there on Market St. Same place it's been since the 1880's.

I wish they would've left it a shopping mall. Now its some lame ass over priced aquarium.

a lot of the stores there closed due to the 2008 Recession. It never really rebounded and lost the majority of its stores in the 2010's, joining Northwest Plaza, Crestwood Plaza, Jamestown Mall, and St Louis Centre as dead malls. Chesterfield is on that same path now.

It was a dead mall. You stopped shopping there. They had to do something with it.
