I've visited St Louis Union Station as a kid back in 1997. It was a shopping mall at the time, it was pretty nice from what I recall. I remember eating at a Hooters (yes, at age 11) with my uncle and Grandfather there and there were many historic railcars parked there. We took Amtrak to St. Louis from Albany, NY and the Amtrak station at this time was kind of dumpy under a highway overpass. The trip was one of my best memories as a child. The passenger cars on the train leaving Union Station in this video, known as Amfleet coaches, are still the backbone of Amtrak's fleet in many parts of the country almost 45 years later! It's a shame Union Station is no longer the transportation hub it once was but at least it is still standing and being used!

I remember it in its heyday. Traveled in and out of there many times.

Well all those phases past and and some railcars are still standing on the rails and are left on.
