We actually have several episodes recorded already and we're absolutely LOVING the show so far, so I have no doubt you'll see us react to the whole thing. We're officially in it for the long haul.
30:50 "Every scene felt like it had a purpose." Absolutely correct and too few people point this out. Dark has the least filler of any show I've ever seen.
Twix was called Raider in German till the 90s, so it's very unusual that she would still find a raider wrapper in the woods. I think they assume the viewer knows this. Also I'm so hyped for a new dark reaction!
@@ChannelNamePending699 It kinda was. When they introduced Twix in the German speaking markets in 1976 (about 9 years after it was first sold in the UK) they chose the name Raider (pronounced like rider). When they decided to unify the brand name some 15 years later, they had to change it in more than 15 countries but those were 1/3 of all the countries worldwide where it was already sold. So in 2/3 it was already called Twix. Oddly enough in 2019 Mars Inc. celebrated their 40th anniversary with a retro edition of Twix labeled Raider Retro Edition. They do that every so often since 2009 to hold on to the brand name rights; e.g. in 2013 they did it in a collab with a discounter chain in Germany for their anniversary. So in a weird coincidence we had Raider around both when season 2 was released and when season 3 was released. But the one in the show is missing the added "Retro Edition" on the label... but it looks brand new. Must have been sitting on somebody's shelf for a few years.
The best written, casted, directed, acted sci-fi I know. But be warned. The first 3 episodes seem kind of slow but then it becomes a mind blowing journey.
Trippy doesn't even begin to describe what happens in Dark. 😉 Season one is just the warm-up for season two which is just the warm-up for season three. And by the end.... Your brain will never be the sane. Dark... the craziest TV series ever. And if you're wondering.... Dark had an amazing finale and ending. 😏
Wlecome to this ride. Good that you watch it in the original audio with subs as the dub doesn't hold up to the expectations of us Germans watching all sorts of US shows and movies dubbed into German. The kid/teen voice actors are quite alright but the adults... which raises the questions if they didn't receive proper VA directions in the studio. The dubbing book is also often more off than the subs especially with idioms. Which brings us to the point where you need to watch out when/if you get to season two. For no reason Netflix decided to add closed captions from the German version for season 1 but CCs of the English dub for seasons 2 and 3 AND the subs automatically swith to the English CC version at the start of season two. When you get to the part where some people talk a foreign language and you have no subs for it, that is the wrong sub.
Oooo!!! I'm so happy and excited you're both watching this show, I hope you guys keep watching and love it as much as it's fanbase! It's AMAZING. I've watched a few of your videos, but this video is the one that made me hit that subscribe button! Very eager for and anticipating the next video 🥹
Thank you so much! We actually have several episodes recorded already and we're absolutely LOVING the show so far, so I have no doubt you'll see us react to the whole thing. We're officially in it for the long haul.
You'll definitely get viewers with show, it has quite the cult following! That said, I do think I aught to warn you that your comments may be divisive. There's two kinds of commenters, some will be cross if you didn't analyse every detail to get the hints early and others will be cross if you pay attention at all to background details as they would rather you manufacture a surprise. As you embark on your reactions, it's important to remember that *Dark* is a puzzle box designed to encourage viewers to pay attention to details. The “reveals” serve both to advance the story for those who haven't pieced everything together and to create dramatic irony for those who have. You may encounter two types of fans in the comments: 1. **“Surprise” Fans:** They cherish the unexpected twists and may prefer you to avoid theorizing or closely examining details, wanting you to experience the reveals without prior knowledge. 2. **“Sleuth” Fans:** These viewers thrive on uncovering the hidden clues and enjoy when you piece together theories before the show explicitly reveals them. Both approaches are valid! Whether you choose to take extensive notes, theorize actively, or simply enjoy the unfolding story as it comes, it’s all part of the experience. The creators designed the show to cater to those who wish to engage deeply, but it’s equally fine to watch for pure enjoyment. Just remember: enjoy the show your way! The comments may be divisive, but as long as you're having fun, you’re doing it right!
That description is so accurate, I'm definitely a "surprise" fan. Even though I love it when people theorize, when they get it right too early I always think 'aw, now it's not going to be as shocking anymore when the twist is revealed :('. Of course I'm still going to watch, even if they do theorize a lot, I just can't get enough of Dark reactions.
I can't imagine criticizing people for paying attention to the shows they watch. Fabio and I are definitely "sleuth" fans - whether we're good at it or not lol. For me, analyzing and theorizing is half the fun. This show is practically begging its viewers to analyze it (imo). I do agree that both approaches are valid, though. In response to @joshina4497, it feels amazing when my predictions end up being right, because I'm essentially rewarded for paying attention. So I personally don't find that it takes any of the fun out of it. And even if I get it wrong, that just means I get to feel that shock when a twist occurs. Best of both worlds. We're currently ahead in the show, and Dark has actually had a really nice balance of things we've been able to predict and things we've been competely blindsided by. So stay tuned to see us slowly lose our minds :)
@@joshina4497 Same on the sentiment that I see a new Dark reaction, im in it! lol But i'm on the other side of the coin, I'm a sleuth fan that took part in the Theorizing and taking notes on background details and puting things together with the Reddit Threads like an an ARG. But I love the show so much, I just like seeing people enjoy the show, however they decide to do so. (So I try to caution Reactors to not be too swayed by commenters as I'd rather see their joy than cater to us)
Spartan and Pudgey are currently running a poll for their next big show, and at the moment it is DARK vs. BCS. I would love love love for DARK to be their next show🎉🎉🎉🎉 It is perfect for them, as they really like to analyse 🍿✨🙌🏼
Another reaction to my favorite series, and it appears to be turning out to be a good one. I like the way you approach this series. I am going to watch along 👍. Hope you are going to enjoy it.
Also would like to say that I had to start keeping a notebook halfway through the first season and made a family tree and continued adding to it. I highly suggest it as well because it helps tremendously,, but do whatever feels comfortable lol
After a few episodes I considered doing just that, but I was worried that any time we spent looking away from the screen to take notes would risk missing a critical moment or important information (especially while reading subtitles). Luckily, we found this website from Netflix themselves that lets you view the family tree and see who's related to who at any time. You just select the season/episode you're on and it displays all the characters you've been introduced to up until that point so you aren't spoiled. We've been referring to it whenever we need help remembering and it's been a lifesaver so far. dark.netflix.io/en/family-tree
Personally, from episode 3 onward I did go back several times to the "murder wall" in 1x01. It shows some connections between characters and you simply have to follow along the show to figure out what those mean. I find it odd when people act as if that was breaking the law. This show doesn simply expect that people look at single frames; it was made so the audience can decide whether or not to dissect it and figure out the mystery for themselves;
I'm a bit late to the party. Glad to be here. Glad I watched your Longlegs reaction, or I wouldn't know about this reaction. I will say that, yes, you have to pay attention. It does require dedication, but there is payoff. It is arguably the greatest show ever. Or at least the most perfectly written, and prepared series... down to every detail.
Please keep watching this! There’s a reason Dark is critically acclaimed because it’s just that good

Interesting! I think I just assumed it was the European brand name or something. Wonder how many other details like that we've been missing.

14:14 One thing that they just assume you know is that Germany had a planned decommissioning of all its nuclear power plants in the early 2020s btw
Ah, did not know this, thanks! That's pretty cool that they incorporated current events into the show's story.
The best written, casted, directed, acted sci-fi I know. But be warned. The first 3 episodes seem kind of slow but then it becomes a mind blowing journey.
Honestly I didn't even find them that slow. I appreciated that they took the time to set things up. And I do love a slow burn, if done well.
You gain another sub Just because This show is awesome!!! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷!!!
Welcome to the best journey you will ever experience on tv
