I typically use Earthenware Clay which need to be fired in the kiln and can be glazed and fired again. You can use Air Dry Clay and once it is dry you can paint it with Acrylic Paints.
Sorry, for the late response. I use Earthenware clay. It needs to be fired and glazed. Air dry clay just dries in the air and is not made for firing in the kiln or glazing. You can paint it with acrylic paints. Enjoy creating.
