I love the direction this channel has taken, I was a little disappointed knowing it wouldn't be ethan being forced to do car content for our entertainment but at the same time seeing Jack and Ethan both looking so much more entertained, and knowing that there could and most likely will be crossovers in the autoalex universe makes me so happy. Plus it really seems as if Jack and Ethan have cornered a really niche market here and really cultivated their own audience.

Fan from Japan here. Was astonished to see the ordeal unfold. As someone who lived in Tokyo for 5 years, even I can't picture myself doing this on my own. I also appreciate the highlights on spots on the way. The following people idea was kind of clever, as that is a good tactic to find the big streets. Sounds like you guys may have stumbled on some candidate making a roadside speech at the end. We recently had a gubernatorial election, so that may have been it. Anyways, definitely will look forward to the road trip video ! Best of luck to you all ! Anonymous Japanese p.s. Sorry for the long comment, I am not used to this. Just wanted to lay out my appreciation.
Love how jack and ethan still involve themselves with alex and the rest of the crew but set out to do something different exploring the world while still keeping alex crew in the loop. Leaving car throttle was the good choice for the 3 lads
Challenge: start at one side of Central Milton Keynes and get to the other. Use all the phones, guides and maps you need. The challenge is that you have to be in Milton Keynes.
I feel like Venice or something similar in Italy would be an interesting one with no map because they’re not that big to walk across but the streets are so tiny they’re like labyrinths
@@Recessio I do remember that they could replicate it but if you remember that particular city was so difficult because of the one way systems which don’t apply on foot which is the main reason why Venice came to mind because if they are doing it on foot Venice has no roads obviously but I think a city like Lucca and just doing the challenge in a car would be awesome
@@Murray_23 the thing that’s funny about Venice is sometimes even when you try to use your phone the narrowness of the streets means it can’t reach satellites so even your phone doesn’t quite know where you are 😂
@@Recessio I've been to Lucca and it's not that hard to find your way around without a map. Maybe driving around is a different story but I feel like TG definitely made that look a bit more dramatic than it really was.
This is such an amazing concept. I LOVE doing this in a completely new and foreign city/country. Theres something so serene about walking around “regular places”, down regular streets, regular intersections, regular corner stores. It may be so boring to a local but to a foreigner, those regular places are the ones you remember the most as if imagining how your life would be if this regular foreign place across the globe is where you wouldve lived. Well done boys, cant wait for the next one
So this has got me thinking about that pick up truck tog gear episode in Canada. You two dropped off in the sticks somewhere and you have 24 hrs to find the nearest town but as soon as the clock strikes 24 hrs you have to stay put, make camp and wait to be rescued by Alex and the TDC boys. The person closest to the nearest town gets to pick which rescue team they want to retrieve them and the first team back to the town wins 😊
Top tip for next time or for those heading to Japan in the heat: Get yourself plenty of pocari sweat. Its like Powerade or a Lucozade sports drink. Replaces all the goodness you sweat out. Bloody miracle drink. Love the vid lads. Been to Japan twice myself and instantly knew what a daunting task you were up against
Loved this, much to be said about understanding a city when you just walk around aimlessly (even if you did have an aim)... Vietnam is a must for this, Hanoi was mental when we visited in the age before smartphones.
Young lad I know booked a flight to north Vietnam from uk rented a motorbike rode to the southern tip posted the bike back and jumped a plane home! Why not if you can enjoy life do it! 👍🏻
Always loved watching the car throttle days and wasn’t too sure about this NEW approach BUT I’m loving it. It’s completely different to what you used to do and it’s great. 😊
This brings back so many memories of when we went. I watched it then rewatched it again with "ma wayf", and she loved it. Then rewatched all the Iceland ones together. Love what you guys are doing, keep it up ❤️
I remember being in Tokyo and being completely lost with a friend of mine in the middle of the night. We didn't have any cash for a cab anymore and and phone batteries dead. We legit just followed the subway signs hoping we would get to the one next to our hotel and we ended up making it. We also got lots of help from people, even though none of them spoke English. Such lovely people, great memories.
I've always said to myself that some of the popular car youtubers should do a travel vlog, simply because of how good they are in front of camera, their shots, and editing. This is an example. Love your work... keep going and looking forward to more.
This channel is awesome. I've watched both of you for years, but your flavor of adventure is delightful. Plus the fact that youre both quite handy with a camera keeps cinematography on point for a 2 man crew
The best trip of my life was to Japan. Every corner of this country is amazing. The people are just purely awesome. Hope you had a blast boys and I'll definitely visit that country again. many times.
Excellent video and reinforces my belief of trying to get my bearings in any new place without relying on technology. Thanks for taking us with you- looking forward to the next episode. Video suggestion- Set a budget and see how far away from a random/difficult/specific starting point you can get in 24 hours?
You should do Istanbul. You can start at the Istanbul Sapphire observation deck and walk to the Grand Bazaar and then get the ferry to Asia as your only public transport and walk to Camlica Mosque where you get another great view. It's about 14 miles in length and goes through most of the best parts of the city.
9:23 For anyone worried about getting worse at navigating, try using a paper map for a road trip. It is great fun, and it will improve your intuitive navigation skills.

I moved from West London to Tokyo five years ago and still remain here (I actually visited the Skytree just yesterday), I must applaud you both.. Even navigating Tokyo with google maps can be a frustrating, but to do this without any phone or traditional map is quite the achievement. Loving the content, Jack & Ethan keep it coming!
I love this channel so much. You've taken the chemistry between you two and the amazing journeys and sprinkled in some cars and I love it. Tokyo is an incredible city. I’ve been there twice now and I still feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer. I think some people don’t realize how absolutely massive it is.
