- In this episode of PowerTec 10, DV whisks through the status of the projects close to to being presented. He talks about how seminars might be conducted where more folk can be in on the show at a lot less money by means of Zoom. Also the new shop extension and the status of the cam timing with the double wheel on the 350 motor for cam and head testing that will ultimately be used for a Model 'A' Ford. finally he steps into the arena to settle a debate on whether cam profiles are more important than cam event timing. As usual DV does not have an opinion here - but he does have a dyno!

Hi there David, you're not the only one who needs more garage/ workshop space... Suggestion: instead of those fluro lights overhead, have a look at the rectangle shaped LED lights that replace the fluros... new 40w german AEG LED office T bar panel light , 30cmx120cm, daylight white 6500k, on EBAY, cost @ $50.00... they turned my garage into daylight bright!!! Us ol' farts need all the help we can get... Also, at 65, I spend half my time wandering around my garage/ little workshop looking for stuff that I know is in there, so don't be too hard on yourself with regards your surgery........ cheers from Australia...
Hey David, you will only have about 20 people on your zoom video participate.
You know you can have many more people be part of the zoom video and not participate in the making of the video. What i mean is we do this all the time for our pesticide classes. We have hundreds of people watching the courses and watch the teachers interact with the topic speakers. Like you and the 20 people or so making the zoom video and hundreds of people watching you and the interaction with your seminarians.. Now that would be phenomenal. Of course it would be a paid zoom viewing too. Think of the financial potential and the attraction of a larger audience. Thank you sir again for your great videos!
David Vizard the Wizard! a hero
Wish you luck finding your camshafts David. I know how aggravating this can be.
Especially when you tried to put it somewhere you knew for sure you wouldn't lose it.
It happens to me more than it should. I always find it after I gave up and used something else instead.
Andy, has them up in the bed with those mini Boss valve covers.
Thanks for update. As always, I await the ringing of the bell for the next video. And that Zoom thing sounds like a great idea.
Dear Uncle Dave,
I’m truly sorry that you are missing your chum Marvin. We all know that he was a really great guy and he is well thought of.
I know most of us are watching you take your personal losses on the chin. You have a most endearing way about you that garners affection. Your generosity with your hard fought knowledge is quite a special gift we certainly do appreciate. I’m sure it’s okay to speak on behalf of others.
I’m super enthused about learning of your plans to do Zoom seminars.
I love all the natural light in the shop, it will be a real treat.
Sad news overnight David, Paddy Hopkirk has passed away at age 89. Amazing guy.
I'd be getting that bead blaster out of there and well away from any assembly area.
The audio is coming through both left and right channels in the new workshop footage. Maybe the settings on the regular camera are just on the left channel.
Great to see the new workshop, natural light is great in the shop.
Proof positive you can't keep a gearhead down! Shop looks nice David and Co. !
I was looking forward to meeting you in person at a seminar, but how can a poor boy like me argue with how much less a Zoom seminar would cost me. Really looking forward to it!
Dave you should have made a video celebrating the life of Marvin! We would have sent our best regards! I had no idea he had moved on I'm sorry.. Health really is wealth these days sadly, this will literally make the 3rd person that's been there on a friday and then I get a call on Sunday night telling me he's died of a stroke. we really do have to take care of ourselves as we get older..
The seminar sounds exciting David, the tired brain thing reminds me of myself , after 6 or 7 hours of engine or transmission work I also need a break, your brain consumes more energy than any organ in your body, the more you think the more it uses, I will sit and read a bit that seems to help

Thank you Sir for sharing your knowledge. God bless you.
St Jude's #1 👍
I don't think I've ever been this early to one of your videos David. 😂
Sign me up for a spot on the Zoom webinar. I will do that in a New York second.
Surprised the meter people don't complain about you having it in your new shop expansion. I want to get started building my dyno cell building but finding the time and the $$ for materials is holding things up. I have so much stuff I want to test it certainly will be an exciting time! Looking forward to more videos from you and I rather enjoy the live streams as well if you have the time.
The seminars timing sounds good
Thanks for video!
I put things away so I know where to find them latter. Latter comes but the things are no where to be found.
I watch all of your videos David
As someone who has a few years on the clock and dealing with maybe having lost a marble or two along the way, there is humor to this brain thing. Perverse yes, but still a touch funny.
HI DAVID THAT WORKS FOR ME THANK YOU
Count me in for a Zoom seminar David, I suggested it a few months back and you said you'd be in for it. True to your word you're getting things sorted. Thank you.
I put them in a safe place and until I find them they will be safe!
😳. Looks like someone has been a busy beaver. Good for her not allowing you on a ladder. I wish I could find someone to regrind four motorcycle cams😒. Can't wait until the next video🤗.
Hi David, how can I get my name down for the zoom seminar. I live in New Zealand and doing it online like this would be absolutely outstanding.
Prayers go to paddy. Great vidja David 🤙🏼
Thanks!

The double timing wheel is for cam profiles. 👍
Awesome David 💯👍
What kind of music is the theme song in these videos? They are cool but almost kinda weird.
and then you're going to bless us with a 4 valve video, right?
well yes - something like that.
@@marvingvx1
Yay!
@@marvingvx1 hi David sorry again for a off topic question I'm after your input on getting more oil pressure from my 1700 xflow I remember hearing I can place a shim in the spring to give more oil pressure, fresh build triple check everything when building but won't go above 40 can you please advise me on how the shim is placed in the pump or any info what you may think cheers
Yes 4 valve content would be awesome!. You have so much on your plate at this time though geeze. I honestly don't know how you do it. Much appreciate all your hard work though. I love the regular content as well BTW. Really shows how down to earth you are and the stories are always excellent.
G'day David. I would definitely attend the zoom seminars. I'm in Darwin, Australia so the times you mentioned would work well for me.
P.S. that guy obviously doesn't know that if your timing is out far enough the engine won't run at all! (I'm being extreme here, as he probably does know, I'm just making a point)
We didn't get to see the Dart thing
DV, would rewatching episode 15 starting at the 18:30 mark jog your memory on where you placed the 3 off brand (Chevy) cams? I'd love to see your test completed so I can apply the results to a real (Ford) engine, haha.
David it will be in the last place you look for them,,, unless you find the cam's and keep looking for them 😂😆
Better late than never.
do you have any plans of working with the gen 3 Hemi. i have all your books on the small block mopar
Dammit, I got 3rd…
DV; Thank you, v/r wh
Hi David. I'm extremely interested in your seminars. Please put me down on your list of potential clients. Regards Greg
WIth the Seminars you should sell a kit with porting rolls, head stand and an affordable set of cylinder heads so everyone has got the same head as you to work along with you - as there is no point teaching a concept if you can't put it into practice.. My next big project though is making a 1950s Formula 1 type special with two toyota 4 cylinders joined together with a quill drive to make a straight 8 with a repurposed mercedes supercharger adding boost. I was going to make a replica of a mercedes Silver Arrow W196 car, But thinking about it I would go catatonic if I took it to a hillclimb meet and some old toff said "This isn't right" or they did 'This back in the day" These old race cars have become like hedge funds for millionaire collectors sadly.. but I figured I would make my own special as if I was back in the late 50s but had the parts of today to build it..
Mini split type A/C ?
THAT GUY WOULD NEVER CONCEDE WHEN HE LOST. SOME PEOPLE EGO SO BIG THEY DONT EVEN HEAR WHAT THEY SAY.
How can i join the seminars ?
Careful arguing with people on the internet. That can be quite the rabbit hole.
I would not put to much energy in to that, just do what you do and keep keeping on.
Here I'm a little late
Hi David
I tried to send a email (the sem email address)requesting your advice on a few details I was looking for your assistant with it's all for a bme m62 v8 motor ,1st I was after some help with a cam profile to suit my build 2nd some advice on header length (tuned)4-2-1 system, I'm aware your time is money
Your help would be appreciated
My comment from a 71 year old, stashed it in a safe place, so safe I can’t find it………
As much as you can do the work yourself, I would think you're efforts should go towards the presentations and videos, I hope you can find someone that do the background stuff for you.
