Forget all these weak-ass "natural" remedies. Flooding the ears with isopropyl alcohol and then wet-whip the ears outside and around the head with the same will kill all bugs & eggs instantly. 70% isopropyl is not going to hurt your cat, so why dick around for weeks when you can just KILL THEM ALL and be done with it.
Thank you so much. I just took in a little 6 week old foster kitten who was thrown in a dumpster 😭. I got him 6 days ago. It’s my first time and it’s overwhelming. He’s scraped up, URI, eyes a mess… I just peeked in his ears and saw the black dots/ debris. Glad this will be an easy fix and he will enjoy the cure. Thanks again. PS I’m adopting the little guy he stole my heart 💗
Thank you very much for the video it helped a lot. Olive oil really helped take out the debris created by the mites from the ear. I am no expert in the field, but I will share some of my experiences during the process of ear-mite elimination for somebody who is trying to help another kitty in the future. >>I just bought my 2year old Ragdol (Curie) last week and then I noticed she scratches and shakes her head so much. After a bit of research I found she is possibly infected with ear-mites. She scratched her head too much and she had a scar and hair-loss over the eye when I checked the other day. Considering the condition, I put a cone to save her from further damaging herself first. You can buy cones at any pet shop I guess, but I made a cone with a piece of cardboard which saved her for 3 days until things get under control. >>I tried to pour the oil with a spoon as I didn't have a syringe, but it didn't go very well and oil spilled over my cat. Then I went to Walmart and took a dropper (5 bucks only - www.walmart.ca/en/ip/equate-glass-medicine-droppers/6000197009874) which helped solve the problem. >>Another helpful thing was to wrap my kitty with a towel, it helped greatly in avoiding her trying to escape. >>I massaged the ear after putting the oil and then let the kitty walk freely. She shook her head while walking and it kind of throws out the wax from the ear everywhere. If you are doing this, may be it is a good idea to avoid letting your kitty walk over your bed for a bit to avoid any spills of tiny wax droplets. >>After about 10minutes from the oil insertion, I gently cleaned the outer area of the ear with a cotton ball as she seemed to be feeling uncomfortable with oil and wax being everywhere. >>When your kitty tries to clean the ear, she put oil on her paw and tongue. In my case, this caused the oil to be kind of spread over her coat making her not fluffy. After the treatment process I didn't want to trouble her with a bath. Therefore, I brought the water-less shampoo from PetSmart (www.petsmart.ca/dog/grooming-supplies/shampoos-and-conditioners/tropiclean-deep-cleansing-waterless-cat-shampoo---berry-and-coconut-57759.html). This helped me greatly in cleaning the kitty without much hassle. >>Another important tip is to give some treats after each time kitty went through the procedure, because mine was pretty annoyed with me after this treatment during the first day. In the second day I managed to make up for the trouble she had to go through with the treats and pets :D. (This was no joke to me when she was not my friend during the first day :/) >>When I discussed with my friend who is a vet, he mentioned another thing. If the problem is serious and a quicker resolution is needed, then it is recommended to use an ear-miticide. I used this product (www.mrpets.ca/main/gold-medal-plus-ear-mite-tick-control-118ml.html : I bought it from THE TOTALPET not from this exact store). It has Pyrethrins that kills the mites (a similar chemical would be Ivermectin). If you do not like to use any chemicals other than organic matter, may be this is not good for you. After all these efforts my cat is safe and recovered. I am happy to see how she is enjoying her freedom without mites. That's why I decided to share this long story for who it may be useful to make their furry friend healthy and comfortable. Kindly let me know if you see anything I could have done better. Thank you very much :)
Very informative. I just tried to put baby oil in my kittens ear because of ear mites. Unfortunately he did not like this at all, which resulted in a total mess and getting some of the oil on his head and a bit on his body. He made me feel very bad because it seemed like he was crying. He then got distant. But now he’s fine. The only trouble is the oil on him, I tried washing off with a cloth soaked in warm water and dishwasher liquid but it’s not enough.

I bought a bottle of Pet Armor mite treatment drops because the price dropped to $1.50 a bottle. I used this for a few weeks and it greatly reduced the mites. My cat would shake his head and clumps would come flying out. But it wasn’t getting 100% of the “ coffee grounds” out. Q tips didn’t help much. So I put my cat in the shower (with a glass door closure and a hand sprayer). I gave him a shower with warm water and baby shampoo. I kept spraying in his ears. It was a gentle water pressure and he kept shaking his head and crying but after I turned off the water, there was no signs of mites. His ears were super clean and a cute pink inside. I towel dried him and let him lay in the sun to groom himself. He looks so clean and happy! I will keep giving him the drops to help prevent more mites.

I've spent $400 for a first visit to a wonderful vet and she had to sedate my baby boy. To remove tons of debree from ear mites he's always been a 1cat home & indoor only.. I had to leave him temporarily with a friend who had 3 cats so he did get ear mites . After the visit and antibiotics and earwash and 3month supply of revolution and months follow up of constantly cleaning my cats ears they still remain funky and I've ordered 2more revolution treatments. I don't think what he has anymore is ear mites . But he has flown numerous times in a plane I was curious if he has damaged ears from altitude. My cat sneezes constantly since he was a 4week old kitten . And I've had him back then on numerous antibiotics and still sneezing away . I still Find debris and he still sneezes I can't afford anymore $400 visits to a vet. I also spent 75 recently in the vet local to me . He barely allows us to rub his head and touch his ear or head area. He's very healthy what else could be the issue ? He's up to date on shots always healthy fed . And fresh water from the sink he doesn't drink standing water. You could say that I do spoil my Floyd

Hi there. Thanks for the excellent video. I noticed that my cat is shaking its head and scratching its ears more after treatment. I assume this is normal because she is trying to expel the oil from her ears or maybe the mites are acting up because they feel attached. Anyhow, I wanted to ask if you think it is normal that the behavior is exacerbated and if so, how long after an acute treatment can the these behavioral responses continue to be more pronounced? Many thanks!

We bought naturpet ear drops, is it ok to drop the solution right in the ear? Have been a bit worried so only used it for outer surface and not going in. Thank you.
IT DIDN'T WORK! I treated my poor kitty twice a day with coconut oil and cleaning twice a day for an entire month (olive oil, mineral oil, almond oil, coconut oil are cat safe). The black crud and itching never stopped. I even sprayed her coat daily with 1:1 apple cider vinegar as well. I only succeeded in making my poor kitty afraid of me. And BTW you need to be careful with Q-Tips because cats have tiny fragile bones in their middle ear, on top of worrying about the ear canal where the ear drum is located. Trust me.. the juice ain't worth the squeeze. I only succeded in making my cat afraid of me. FYI Ear mites can live on any surface, without feeding for 4-6 days. They also occasionally infect humans.. Does your kitty sleep on your bed? Mine doesn't anymore, until she is cured. My poor kitty! I am now trying .05%Pyrethins formulated for cats.
Unfortunately i’ve been doing this method of olive oil for several weeks and things are still the same. I clean his ears with soaked tissue (after squeezing them) every single day. I try to keep him clean but unfortunately he keeps hurting & bleeding the back of his ear. my problem is where i live we don’t have a vet. so where can i buy this solution Internationally ?

He is less likely to scratch (as evidenced by a long scratch on my leg when he jumped down). He scratched the mites so hard that he caused a raw spot in his ear. Can I treat it with human antibiotic ointment?
6:58 Thanks, till next time... stay awesome.
Jack,. My Ragdoll has been fussing with his ear for a little bit until I noticed it was a bit more than normal.
I bought some ear cleaner and mite medication at the local feed store, "R-7M EAR CARE".
If remembering correctly he had a

Best video on this. Thank you.
its like ticks put oi lon them they will die because they breathe through there rear end so the suffocate
Olive oil worked for my cat who had mild issue and was shaking his head and scratching his neck. Don’t know if it was mites, but he stopped doing all that after olive oil. Thanks!
I still
Find debris and he still sneezes I can't afford anymore $400 visits to a vet.

Not all almond oil is created equal apparently. I read that SWEET almond oil is NOT harmful to cats. I purchased one from Amazon that says for topical or internal use because some just say for topical use only, and this stuff gets everywhere if you are not a pro.
Wonderful tips and thank you so much for sharing.
you are amazing as the cat relaxes? Mine freaks out. My neighbors bites. And they stay pissed off for hours;) You have 'the touch'.
I hope you get notifications still cause I have a question...if the cat has them close to the ear drum, in the canal itself, how do you know you're getting them? And I'm too scared to use a swab...please answer
how do you know they are close to the ear drum. The oil should make its way down that far and suffocate the mites yes.
Thank you!ive been searching all day for a good video to help me bc my 2/3 month old kitten sadly has a case of ear mites😞i love her to death and will do anything for her to be happy, and this vid rlly helped!!!thanks
My same question. My little girl runs around the house shaking her head and scratching. Her ears are now raw and inflamed. She's scratching all her fur off.
@@debraobinna7120 I ended up brining the cat to the vet and there was a build-up of wax and an infection. The vet cleared out his ears and gave me antibiotic drops to administer.
Thanks. For both video And comments
Oh Thank you soooo much 🥰❤️you just made my day i was super nervous for my two cats
I've used mineral oil in the past... is that ok to use as well?
No,it tends to be too astringent and upsets delicate ear natural oils, only use plant oils, neem oil diluted is great as its insecticidal as well,do abit of research and try things out on yourself first when your completely sure its the way to go and its safe for you then your pets.
thank you so much for the info. I have taken my cat cookie 3 times ,did better but still not there thank you blessing
I wish my guy was as compliant/docile as your neighbor barn cat fella.
thank u so much!! I read everywhere and this just reassuring that it's the correct home remedy. we can't afford a vet visit. and our cat is outside cat that I know has ear mites. question it seems like the debre is on the top of her head now and kind of crusty? is that mites
They can spread. Just remove them anywhere you see. You will probably have to do it more than once.
Lol, I feel for the kitty. Mine is about to get a surprise of her life.
I just subscribed but notice you don't answer any questions. Sometimes we need more information.
Thank you for the details!
Great insight. Thanks!
Hi there ! Can I also use coconut oil if I don't have olive oil?
Thank you very much! Wish best to you and your cat
Thank you so much for posting. This was very very useful.
sounds great and easy. now just to gave the cat allow me near its ears....fingers crossed
I’m helping a stray cat, unfortunately he has fiv so I can’t adopt him because I have another territorial male cat. He lives outside my house in cat house that my mom and I bought him. He started losing fur and I didn’t know it was scabies. Now he has a big patch without fur. He cries at night 😿 but the vet appointment is in two weeks and I want to help him but I don’t know how. Will coconut oil help? I don’t want his injuries to get infected because of his condition. We also get him neutered but he seems to still fighting with another cats.
I am doing this for my cat but it's still itchy and he is losing his hair around his ear. Is this normal? Or do I have to take him to vet?
Awesome video
Many good questions in the comments, but no answers. Would have subscribed.
You know what’s strange? I really don’t think I wrote that comment because I’d seen all the helpful tips in the video itself- it’s not something I’d write or say! The video contains the tips, not the comments. Again, very strange!
Thanks for the video😻
And I had subscribed💕🐾💕🐾💕🐾
Thank you so much for your help
Thank you so much for the advice, your my cat saver
Does the dirty ears necessarily mean "ear mites?" My cat doesn't seem to scratch much. He's pretty mellow cat. But there is the black debris looks like coffee grounds
You are the bomb! Thank you soooooo much!
I can't clean my semi-feral cat ears because she will eat me up. All I can do is grab her by the scruff quickly and squirt the olive oil in ears. I have given her two treatments already and no longer do I see her scratching her ears.
Do cats get bald patches above their eyes with mites? Or could that be a yeast infection?
What's the treatment if the cat has a yeast infection please?
Not vagisal. Use the cream for yeast infection
Surolan. Or something similar. I wouldn't chance using vagisil on a cat. A lot of things for cats are toxic to us and vice versa.
@@gmork1090 Thanks
It was hard to hear u but what I could hear was helpful it was when u looked down it was effecting the sound . Can this work.for my dog...
Yes
Thanks for making this video!
There is a big problem with this tip. It always spills a little oil on the outer area of the ear and when the cat is exposed to the sun, this oil causes a burn on his skin.
you have to keep an eye....and clean it with cotton or toilet paper
Thanks a lot
May cat has black mites in his tale inner skin infected my nieghboor cats and now i suspected it in his troaath and hes always liek to vomit i dont trust vet i brought my cat yesterday its died. What will i do to eliminate m=ite sinside my cats troat and taale innner skin?
Pour the eat cleaning liquid first squeese gently the ear below for few seconds before starte cleaning the ears. Don't use the same cotton ball for both ears . Infection may spread more
Thank you for your tips. My kitten has mites . I've used jojoba oil which helps too.
Is virgin coconut oil okay also?
How do I get the swish swish sound? I took our rescue with ear mites to the vet and they demonstrated how to use the cleanser but I can’t hear it when I massage the ear :c they also pointed out that I should hear it idk what am I doing wrong
I saw several vets saying to NOT use olive oil because it doesn’t have anti-parasitic properties
you are right- they do not have antiparasitic properties. this is a natural remedy and kills them by suffocation. They die in the oil. It is not a chemical product
@@gofigure4920 WARNING vinegar burns irritated skin
Very helpful! Thank you so much!!!!
Does the olive oil kill the mites? My manx has them in patches on his back and neck the water is quite dirty from dried blood it seems. I tried flea and tick shampoo as well.
Any suggestions for cats ears yeast infections?
thank you so much
Would dawn dish soap work?
Another question: Will the scab caused by mite debris coming off heal by itself?
I’m having the same issue with my kitty ! Did you try this method and if you did how did it go ! Thankfully my kitty is only shaking her head, not really scratching .
Yes.
i wish u were my nabore my cat needs you
Go to store and buy it. She is not your neighbor. Stop being a pussy

Hi @Tech Tips. I hope you are doing fine. Your video is very helpful and informative. I am hesitant to go and visit my vet because of the pandemic happening right and my vet and they charge us a lot and gives a lot of medications. Do you have a messenger account I have a lot of questions and tips for you to ask about the this treatment. Thank you again. ☺️
My cat went 100% deaf on both ears after i took it to the vet to have the ears cleaned for mites , he pored some ear cleaning liquid in the ears instead of using cotton swabs etc to pull the dirt out , im not sure if the cat has lost all her hearing forever or if they are just plugged up with ear vax and thats whats making her 100% deaf .... the vet sais i dont know what happend to her.... he cant do nothing to help or fix it , what am i supposed to do ? :(
My cat's ear are bleeding so bad cuz of the scratching... I did the baby oil when she was small, but it never worked help
Maria Stellas so take her to the vet dummy
She probably has a secondary infection. Try coconut oil. It's soothing and antifungal.
*OMG* Thank you so much for this.
We bought naturpet ear drops, is it ok to drop the solution right in the ear? Have been a bit worried so only used it for outer surface and not going in. Thank you.
where did you get the microscope? id want one myself..
Hello, did you solve the problem with the mites? If so, how did you do it?
SO the oil will go all they way down in their canal or just around the perimeter?
Very informative... Thanks!
Me and my cat appreciate it thanks..
You"re amazing!
I assume that’s what my cat has.But his ears and his forehead stays scratch up and bloody. He had got alittle better during the winter but soon has the heat came he got worse..IIs this ear mites ???Both his ears has hardly no hair and looks bad and his forehead the same
