Fingers crossed. This is such an interesting challenge I have NEVER ever heard of! That is such a cool visual walk around the world! Definitely worth checking out!
I'll sign up for both the Inca Trail and Camino de Santiago first. I'll start the two at the same time. After the Inca Trail, I'll go for Kilimanjaro.. so I'll have these shorter challenges while doing the much longer Camino at the same time. It's cool that Conqueror let's you do multiple challenges at once :) Thanks for sharing your story!
Hey so can you just start it and let it run and track you whilst walking around your house? Then maybe go for a run? If what I said doesn't make sense, basically can you just walk around like a regular day and it still tracks once you hit start?
If I'm understanding correctly, yes. I'm not sure how it would work if you used a tracker that automatically fed into it because I input manually. Typically what I do is put in 2 different miles each day. I do the math myself and put in what I bike or jog at one time and then what I walk in my normal day job.
I've been considering this because I'm not a motivated person (struggle with mental health and physical pain). I'd like to be more active and thought this would be a good incentive. Thanks for the info and love your positive energy!
I did the Rome one. I had to reschedule because I broke my foot. I have yet to start again but they sent me the medal anyway. I was about ¼ of the way done so it must have assumed I finish. The app is ok and the medal is nice. The pro app should be free for the price. It's expensive, basically I paid $26 for a medal.
I didnt realize that they had a new app- when I made this review months ago they must have only had the one. Yeah, I get that's pretty much all you're paying for. I feel that way about all virtual/in person races. It find them fun to collect though.
Good luck with your journey! I'm not sure what bike you are taking about, but I bought a stationary bike a few months back and it's been such a game changer with my fitness routine.
It can be tracked by your smartphone if you have one of the coordinating fitness apps linked. You can also put the miles/steps in yourself. I don't have a smartwatch currently and find the app on my phone works well.
are you still doing these? or tried others? I'm doing a short 13 mile London walk with pacer right now and bought a few others and some from another place for queen's platinum jubilee that looked cool as I love england
I haven't since December because I've been recovering from an injury, but I will probably start again once I'm fully recovered. I did a pacer challenge too- but it was one of the animal ones. Are you enjoying your journey with them?
Hi there, I was wondering if you have a fitness watch connected can you see where you are walking in real time while you are walking or is this something you watch after the fact?
Hi! The location viewing is done through Google Maps and isn't done in real time. After your fitness watch updates your miles, you'll be able to see where you currently are on your journey on a map as well as on a Maps picture.
I paid for the virtual challenge..12 hours back.....but haven't received mail for the join code yet....how much time did it take you to receive the mail ??
When I completed the challenge back in May/June timeframe it took about a month to ship. I'm not sure what the shipping range is now though. I'm still working through a long challenge.
I like the idea if this but my issue is.... what do you do with medals? Like yea I'd be excited to have them but after a while I wouldn't want them anymore and I feel like I'd be making a lot of waste.
That's a great point and one that I was thinking of this past week while unpacking. When I get to the point where I don't want to display them/have them, I plan to donate them to a local organization that gives costumes and accessories to kids for dress up/Halloween.
@@Sparkingthislife I joined YesFit VIP and you can sign up for as many races as you want and you don't have to get a medal. You can pay extra for a medal or other prizes, but the completetionist in me enjoys just finishing as many races as possible.
So stoked I found your video! I've been looking to get back into walking and this challenge came across my Facebook feed. Wasn't sure if it was legit or not so I'm glad to see you took the time to review it! Totally signing up to get some motivation to get back walking. Thank you!
I recently signed up and i'm currently doing the 2021 set your own goal challenge. I really appreciated this video ... I think i'll aim to do them all.
Hey I just signed up today and havent started yet. Could u tell me how the google maps thing work as the ide of being able to see these places was a massive plus for me. Do u just put in you mileage at the end of the day or activity and it will show u where u have ended up or are there certain mark points that pop up throughout the challenge, once you've gone past a point can you review it in google maps by clicking on it or is it just kinda gone? Obviously it can't track u real time as your not in the area and only add your mileage at the end although real time tracking would be super cool if there was a way to do it in the future lol. Sorry for all the questions just really wanna know how it works before I start 😀
Hi! It would be so cool if it could track in real time. The map updates within a few minutes of you putting in or your tracker putting in the miles. You'll be shown on the map both where you are on a line of like 20%, 40% completion and also on street view if you click on it. In the actual "journey" portion it'll tell you exactly where you are and how long you have left until your next major checkpoint.
I ordered this, but I am having trouble with figuring out how to log the distances I walked. I assumed.... that the app would track me and calculate it. I could not figure out how to get that to work since I was walking and nothing was showing up. I then downloaded the runkeeper, but it is giving me error messages. I also expected some sort of talking, music, etc. to keep me motivated as I walked - is it supposed to do that and I am also missing that? Needless to say, so far I have physically entered my distances, but I am not impressed - unless of course this is my fault. Any help or tips, PLEASE? Much appreciated.
Hi! I'm sorry to hear this is giving you issues. I input my miles manually when I did my challenge, so I'm not sure how to sync up any device. And no- there isn't any motivational talk or anything like that. What I'll use when I jog for things like that is the Nike run club app. They have trainers who talk you through runs. I'd contact the Conqueror customer support if you're having issues with your steps syncing. They'd be able to help (I assume).
The newest challenge, Mount Fuij, the postcards were correct... the first card on the Inca and the first on Hadrians wall are addressed incorrectly, these are older challenges and, I guess were made in error and have not been corrected. It's a shame as the website and route, with street level is good otherwise. I think the challenges are good motivation, but maybe mention more about the price.... they are not closing roads, or organizing an actual route... they are not even sending out medals using prioity mail. If you do not live in the U.S the medals can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to arrive. 6 to 8 weeks!! Sometimes a lot longer...
I was doing chores while “half-listening” to this so I’m sorry if you already mentioned it but is there an app or an associated app to use when plugging in your run’s miles/km information on the website? I’m using Strava and formerly Runkeeper while tracking my runs so I’m wondering if those would work. My thanks!
It's cool! There are a few. At one point their site listed all the ones they accepted as a plugin, but now they only have the icons for iPhone, Googlehealth, and a few others. But if the tracker you use isn't supported, you can always plug it in manually. I use Nike to track my jogs, so I have to put it in manually.
It would definitely be up to you if you think it is worth it. At the time I completed this, I needed the motivation of the medal and such to get back into fitness. I also found it a good way to track my journey while I was preparing for other races. It was also a fun thing to do while my state was in lockdown. But- as someone pointed out in the comments a few months back- this is a step tracker and you are paying for that and a medal at the end.
Hello! I am planning to sign up for the Inca Trail. :) Thank you so much for posting this review! Truly informative! May I know if you had to pay for the shipping of your medal? Or was it included in the sign-up fee? Thanks!
How long did the medal take for you to arrive after you completed the marathon? I want to get my grandma into it but she gets impatient and will probably want the medal right after she completes it 😅
It took about a month for my medal to come in. They sent me a finisher certificate by email that could have been printed out if that was my thing the day I finished.
How often does the Google Maps update with your progress? For instance, if I was on a treadmill and watching the phone, would it update every few seconds, every mile, or do I have to wait to log in my time and then it will update?
As far as I know, it wouldn't update in real time as you were on your phone, but thatd be cool if it had that capability. I usually do 3-5 miles of jogging or cycling at a time and when I put in those miles, itll update the map.
When I want to see something "real and beautiful" in my day, I go see your smile is to me a real thing in a time of so much fake Lucky who sees this smile on his day keep smiling please😀
Each entry for a specific journey comes with that journeys medal when you complete it. There is also an option to get a medal and a shirt, but I've never done that option.
Hello, so glad I came across the challenge but I was also very skeptical about it and if I'll ever get the medal! Watching your video has really motivated me to hop on the train! Just one question, how long did it take for your medal to arrive?
Glad you found the video helpful! When I did it a year ago, it took a few weeks, but less than a month. I'm not sure what their schedule of shipment is like now though.
The first post card from the inca trail I think has an error. It is the only postcard I have received that was addressed to me.... All others were signed by me.... FYI
I dont have experience with the bundles, so I honestly dont know. I do know that you can put your miles toward as many challenges at once that you want. The bundle would be a good way to stack those miles.
The app doesn't. It gives various apps that can automatically update into your feed. I'm currently using the one from Underarmor. I do have to go in and update manually when I do cycling.
Idk...I'm on the fence. Logically, I could run any of these distances for free but the reward part of my brain wants the incentive. Also, I could just buy one from bling.nz bc they don't even bother to hide (or rather don't pay extra to remove) the website where the medals come from.
Funny how things change- when I first posted this video it was just a link and now the company has a referral program that anyone can be a part of. I still get absolutely no money off of anyone purchasing a virtual race, but I do get a percentage off of future races I may buy if X amout of people use the referral link.
I would find this interesting if it would be live. Like, seeing google maps live progressing while walking on a treadmill. This sounds kind of lame. Basically it's just a way to keep track.
Oh, I totally agree that this would be an amazing feature to have. You're right- it is just a way to keep track with a medal and possibly a shirt at the end of your journey. Never really skirted around that fact. Might some lame to some, but some may like or need that sort of incentive for their fitness goal.
When I did this challenge a year ago, it was a special they were running. It was a 2 for the price of 1 type of special. I'm not sure if they are still doing that.
I did 2 challenges, two routes and liked the website and experience... now as long as the medals arrive, all good. Ive been waiting for 2 weeks... the norm seems to be a month.... weird thing is about that... I ordered a few things on Amazon and they only took a week.... oh well... and yes same distance.... i think these companies are just slow, but then just blame covid. I believe they are being shipped from the U.S. 4 weeks or more from U.S to Mexico....?!! If the medals arrive then ALL GOOD.
@@jackie8357 Hi, I signed up for Fuji, Hadrian's Wall, Inca Trail and Everest. I finally got my medals. I live in Mexico and I offen receive packages from Amazon which take between 1 week and 2 weeks.... the medals, however took almost 3 months to arrive. (It's Feb 6 now, one of the runs I did in late November, some in December) The motivation that these events raise is great... but essentially, as i mentioned in my last comment, you are only paying for the product, which is a medal. The website is good, but the street view is basically google maps street view.... Anyway, I'm still wating for my Everest medal wihich I finished a month ago. I was very happy to finally get my other 3 medals... but its just disappointing that they took so long... Maybe, this is just the case with me, IDK. I did 3 other virual runs with 2 other companies and their medals arrived within a month. Well, that's my update...
@@InformWill ..... I recommend doing them...as for me it got me up and active... Would I do another one.... Well, to be honest... i have been motivated to start training again with a tri team so it was positive but, the time I had to spend waiting and also wondering if the medals would ever arrive just turned me off. i did 4 challenges.... and I have 3 medals, still waiting on the 4th. the medals are top quality... no problems there. My advice...sign up, enjoy...and then forget about the medal..... when it arrives...it will be a nice surprise.
Thank you for the review.... I was thinking the same as you, I wanted 'proof' it was legit.

Those are all great points to make! If I do a follow up review of the other virtual challenges, I'll definitely add those suggestions
Just signed up for the Mount Fuji challenge (76km) today, and I plan on finishing it in 1 day
Wow! Good luck!
I swear as soon as I seen the medal I thought of Legend of the hidden temple too!
Do you know if there’s anything special Garmin has to do, or does it automatically upload once you click on an activity on the Garmin Fenix 5?
I'm not exactly sure. Maybe the company could assist you with this if you contacted them.
Thanks for this review. I want to try it but its too expensive for me. Is it worth it? Please help me decide. Thanks
Thanks!
Hello! From what I remember, it was included in the fee.
One Little Spark of Life thank you so much! I already signed her up and she is completely motivated to talk on the treadmill!
That's great! 😊
Thank you for this review! So helpful! I was doubting signing up, but I just entered the Giza Pyramids Challenge. Thanks
Can you please do a video on how to set up step by step the conqueror challenge?
Yes- I sure can! Be on the lookout for it.
You're so right about the Nickelodeon show. It just took me back there as soon as I saw that !! Cheers !
Glad it sent you some (hopefully) fond memories!
Can't you just cheat by manually filling in a certain amount of kilometres?
How long does it usually take for the metal to come in once you finish
I'm not sure about now, but when I did this challenge it took about a week or two for the medal to come in.
When I want to see something "real and beautiful" in my day, I go see your smile is to me a real thing in a time of so much fake
Lucky who sees this smile on his day keep smiling please😀
So if you pay the entry it comes with the medal of do you have to pay additionally each time?
Each entry for a specific journey comes with that journeys medal when you complete it. There is also an option to get a medal and a shirt, but I've never done that option.
Hello, so glad I came across the challenge but I was also very skeptical about it and if I'll ever get the medal! Watching your video has really motivated me to hop on the train! Just one question, how long did it take for your medal to arrive?
Glad you found the video helpful! When I did it a year ago, it took a few weeks, but less than a month. I'm not sure what their schedule of shipment is like now though.
Just signed up for the Mt Everest challenge and I’m so excited!
Yay! I have that one on my list. 🤗 Good luck with your journey!
The first post card from the inca trail I think has an error. It is the only postcard I have received that was addressed to me.... All others were signed by me.... FYI
Aaah. That makes sense!
Would you recommend signing up for the 5 bundle?
I dont have experience with the bundles, so I honestly dont know. I do know that you can put your miles toward as many challenges at once that you want. The bundle would be a good way to stack those miles.
@@Sparkingthislife ok thanks x
is dis applicable here in middle east? im currently working in jeddah saudi arabia? thankyou for responding in advance!
The site says world wide. I would check with customer support just to make sure before you register.
The postcards are real or virtual?
They're virtual.
Thanks for the video, I too have Googled about this but thought it was a scam, however, now I'm going to give it a go.
Glad you found the video useful!
How do you upload your mileage? How easy is it?
It is super easy! I have a section of my new Conqueror video where I show step-by-step. It's here: ruclips.net/video/c1MZtQHmpfg/видео.html
Does the app have a tracker or do I have to put everything in manually ?
The app doesn't. It gives various apps that can automatically update into your feed. I'm currently using the one from Underarmor. I do have to go in and update manually when I do cycling.
Hey I’m having a lot of trouble with the app I started walking and it didn’t start tracking me do I really have to keep logging in my miles/steps ?
I'm not exactly sure because I didnt use a tracker that synced to the app. I'd reach out to the company customer support and ask them to make sure.
thank´s for the info! i signed my first challenge to the top of mount everest and im very excited!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy your journey!
Idk...I'm on the fence. Logically, I could run any of these distances for free but the reward part of my brain wants the incentive. Also, I could just buy one from bling.nz bc they don't even bother to hide (or rather don't pay extra to remove) the website where the medals come from.
that link just redirects to the real website of the challenge
Thank you for this! You have convinced me. Kinda wanting to collect them all one by one 😍
I might eventually do that too!
I've signed up for a few, then saw this video. Thanks for posting it and all the best with your walking 👍😊
That's great! Thanks and best of luck with your walking as well!
Thank you for the review! subscribed and might give a shorter distance challenge a try.
Glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the community! I'm really glad that I gave the shorter distance a try first.
My boyfriend and I are going to try it out and are going to try and shot to finish them all
That's great-good luck!
Love the review!!! I think this seems like an awesome way to keep motivated during this pandemic.
Thank you! And I definitely agree- it totally keeps me going when I feel "meh" about working out.
So... your "just a link" is actually a referral link. Looks like you will get a percentage after all.
Funny how things change- when I first posted this video it was just a link and now the company has a referral program that anyone can be a part of. I still get absolutely no money off of anyone purchasing a virtual race, but I do get a percentage off of future races I may buy if X amout of people use the referral link.
And thats alright because u deserve it!!!
Might some lame to some, but some may like or need that sort of incentive for their fitness goal.
its a tangible reward for a self accomplishment.
Thank you I was wanting more info
You are welcome.
Can I use my Mi band to track Virtual Race?
I'm not exactly sure...sorry!
Thanks for the info! Good luck on your journey!
Thank you!
Do you have to go to the location?
No, you do not.
I'm signing up for the Iceland trail. Can't wait.
Challange should be a challange.. idea of tenis counting as running is stupid.. there should be also time limit..
Just signed up for 3 and got conqour 2021 for free😊😊😊. Thank you for this review.
Woohoo! Happy virtual travels!
what do you mean? you got a run/challenge for free? thanks
When I did this challenge a year ago, it was a special they were running. It was a 2 for the price of 1 type of special. I'm not sure if they are still doing that.
How long have you been waiting for the medal to be delivered? I have completed a mission but it's been 3 weeks and I still haven't received it.
It took around a month for mine to be delivered. I hope you get yours soon!
You already got it Guowei Li? :)
@@Vendreatta yes I got two medals already :) They look astonishing!
@@moonlighttreasure1099 how long did the medal take to arrive? Did that time start after you completed the challenge ?
@@Sparkingthislife was that starting from the time you finished or from the time you signed up?
Can Indians participate in this virtual challenge 🙄 I also want to participate but I don't know whether Indians can participate or not
According to their website, anybody from anywhere in the world can participate!
@@Sparkingthislife whether we wanted to pay money 🧐
@@Sparkingthislife thank you
You're welcome. Hope you have fun if you participate!
Thanks, this was really informative.
Glad it helped!
Is it real metal?
Or plastic
I'm going to assume real metal because it's quite heavy and sturdy.
Thank you so much for this video!
You are so welcome!
Very helpful thank you a lot and congratulations 🎊🎉
I'm glad you found the video helpful. Thank you!
I just started the Grand Canyon challenge
Happy virtual journey!
Great review/info!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Did the medal arrive yet?
Did you end up getting your medals?
Thanks for updating everyone on your experience!
