People need to chill. He made this video before anyone knew they are modular and that the headband can be removed via a sim ejection tool.
Even if they were not removable, I'm not sure that socks were the most waterproof way to protect them...

Thank you so much. A lot of gunk was building up at the head band part and this made my headphones look brand new again.
Wrap ear cups in Saran Wrap or zip lock sandwich bag or remove headband to clean. Baby wipes are great option as they have no alcohol
I used 0% alcohol baby wipes and its much more easier to clean it
Note to self: when I clean these, I will NOT waste all the water that was pouring out in this video. Ouch.
wanna save? water stop eating meat, 1 burger = showering for 4-5 hrs... so it would be better to comment things like this on meat cooking videos :)

I messaged Apple if removing the headband would void the warranty. They weren’t 100% clear on their response.

No.. Apple recommends cleaning them with a lint free cloth and laundry detergent as it's fabric, and letting air dry. Using a toothbrush is actually smart as it has no lint.
