    Hi Lucas. Thank you for your videos. Just one question reg the lecture on Greco Roman ideals in art. The question only asks for how art has changed. Wouldn’t it suffice to just say how art moved away from trying to represent perfect aesthetics to abstract idea which evoke feelings? The rest of the data reg cameras, decline of student numbers in painting schools etc. give reasons for why art changed, but not ‘what’ the change was.

    • @MagooshTOEFL
      @MagooshTOEFL  6 лет назад

      Hi! You have correctly identified the main idea, but the question does ask you to use the points and examples from the article. So, definitely use these supporting details in your answer.

    Most of these questions are out of date. In fact, the real questions in the exam have a new pattern, in question 1 and 2 there are three choices, and you pick one of them and talk about it. So please the next time you post something make sure the ETS sill bring questions like it. It is not a good thing to waste student's time, on some trivial, old material, just to promote your business

    Just make sure that you structure your answer and not rush. Use linking words. Good luck!

      Your reading speed can definitely improve with time and practice, and keep in mind that if the length of your response can only be so many seconds then the test doesn't require you to be too detailed or fancy. Rather, you need to give evidence that you can organize and share your thoughts in English. :)

    Does "listening to songs on their own" mean listening to live music?

    • @MagooshTOEFL
      @MagooshTOEFL  3 года назад

      No, "on their own" would simply mean alone, or by themselves. So they are listening to songs alone.

    Am I the only one thinking that Question 4 is the easiest question among all of them? The other questions are quite easy too once I calm down tbh. But Question 4? Answering that question is as easy as smashing a bloody Chinaman's glassy heart into tiny pieces lol.

      Hey, surprisingly I had the best Mark in this field 28/30 I think that the notation is really lenient, (you hear people speak as you speak so you have to talk louder too) and articulate and dont rush have clear ideas in mind. I think that when I prepared the answer over and over during the 15 sec and sec of preparation ( on this channel) I just cant talk for 30 sec after, but when I dont exercice during the 15 sec and sec of preparation and just say what I think directly it's easier

    I know so many good words to use but when i'm practicing for toefl speaking section i'm just using some simple words !!
    What can i do for this problem?
    Best regards,

    • @MagooshTOEFL

      Hi Nastaran! This is a common problem! It can take a while to go from knowing a word and being able to use it in your conversation. The best way to improve this is by having conversations with native speakers as much as possible. If you don't have someone to talk to, listen to lectures in English. As you listen, pause every so often to imitate the speaker or summarize what the speaker is saying in your own words. Check out this blog post for listening suggestions:
