Hey Fellas. I asked a question about 8 weeks ago on what would be naturally realistic for the squat If I've hit HB 180 ATG following Hypertrophy. You both said no one knows and I should be able to hit 200 unless I fuck something up. I spent the last 8 weeks running a more strength focused squat routine and Pr'd yesterday, went for 190 and got it so went for 195 and got it aswell, never attempted 200 because I didn't want to push my luck but man I'm so fckn happy. cheers for the great content lads!
Dear deers of Sika Strength, a full episode coming up. You actually did nail Martti Puumalainen's name, spot on. European champion from 2023, competed in the Olympics as well. Big fan of his. Last year I requested him to upload more of his gym training (when he did a video with a strongman Jesse Pynnönen and showed their training schedule and explained what he does and his best lifts) just to show up on this news show and there he is now. He actually did 7 reps here and he wrote on the video "in the spring I did 200x5, today a bit more". In the interview with Pynnönen he said he's done 150 kg C&J and 110 kg snatch. He went to practice for that for one summer and said he's curious where his limits would be in strength sports. Go weightlifting for sports! He also says he enjoys seal rows (for 160 kg) because that's so similar to his go to throws.
hey guys, really great video! could you please make one about body composition and specific measurements, how an average joe can measure himself and to compare those lenghts with world-level weightlifters/athletes? thanks!!
It’s interesting you bring up the hook grip for powerlifters being painful. I switched to hook grip and never looked back I never had any pain with it and it just felt like my fingers were glued together when I deadlifted
The deadlift AMRAPs! 🤯 Pretty sure the 7 reps is a world record! And the other guy did it with no straps! I doubt Thor would be able to do any of those.
I’m no where near as strong as these men hooking 800+ lbs. I feel my thumbs get sore from reps with hook in the 470-495 range. Ironically in the lower 500 range like 520-530 hook for singles isn’t that bad. But adding an extra 300 pounds might change that. Hoping I can pull 600 in my life with hook
It is attainable if you really want it. I put off trying weightlifting because of my mobility constraints for too long, but eventually committed to it and it came with time!
The biggest barrier to weightlifting isn't your mobility, it's usually your level of talent for skill acquisition, just start if you want to, you will get the mobility with time.
@ yeah that’s definitely the biggest hurdle, but some people’s intentions can feel dead on arrival when they find they don’t even have the requisite mobility to do a squat with the barbell overhead. Probably took me about a month of working on that exclusively before I could even think about attempting a snatch
I think it's unfair to call Robu a villain considering all the fucking shite Nino Diddylato has done throughout his career. From the videos he sent to minors to the grape allegations.
He bounced the deadlift thus it doesn't count beyond the first rep - t. proud 200lb deadlifter
Sign off all your comments in the future with how much you deadlift so everyone can see the number go up, please!
I thought yousefi’s 275 jerk would be here
love all of your content. you guys are consistently good
A world where Tian tao isn’t squatting is a world I don’t want to live in.

News Show!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
When the lads sit a certain way, the neon sign behind them says “Sika Tren.” I always knew they were in the business
I miss when they used to sit directly in front of the antlers, truly the best of times

If Dave puts on 10kg, uses a suit and straps, he will definitely be in contention for pulling 500+
Bro did a bolt fall off of the leftmost support on the left rack during Tian Tao's squat clip?? LOL
how would one actually load weight on the bar with the squat stand tian tao is using?
with help
Its around 6 when im watching
If 120 is the clean gold standard for a woman, what is the number for men?
That 400kg for 5 was pure insanity, my god i hope to get anywhere near there in my life time lol 😂

Wish I had the flexibility of Olympic weightlifting

I totally agree but as court proceedings are still going on I didn't want to bring it up
