    I ended up getting this pedal. It's a beast of magnetic bliss, I can't imagine my board without it. Killer videos like this sold me on it. I love the way Mike makes the repeats just die out slow for close observation. I paired my Volante with a Silver Lake reverb and my atmospheric ambience effects are just lovely. Blending them parallel with reverb 100% wet will be my next adventure. Likely build my own stereo mixer pedal for that trip.

    Can Strymon do anything that doesn't blow my mind? It's bot a challenge ir anything but why did this brand go over my head all these years? I only learned about them after I spent way too much money on the gear I have now to go back! :(

      Ikr? I've been playing music for decades but if you're floundering with the wrong equipment, it's no good. The equipment has to be an extention of me for me to be able to do anything powerful with it. This has that power, I can hear it.

    Coming on the heels of your Boonar demo, which do you prefer? The feature set of the Volante is obviously way more expansive, but a lot of people think the Boonar has the edge in authenticity of sound and that certain little magic.

    • @poulwinther
      @poulwinther 5 лет назад +2

      If you need stereo or MIDI Boonar is not in the running and you probably couldn't tell the difference in quality in a blind test anyway.

    • @LeviBulger
      @LeviBulger 3 года назад +3

      Just chiming in late here to say that I had both for a bit, and to my surprise I kept the Strymon. I usually am not a big fan of their stuff, or at least what they tend to do to my tone. I always feel like I'm getting a fake tone. The Blue Sky was especially bad at that. So artificial sounding. At first, I really figured the volante was imparting that same digital over processing. But once I got it dialed in a little warmer, It was great. Meanwhile the boonar did what I feared the Strymon would. It definitely changed my tone dramatically. And even though the tape head bouncing sounded much better with the boonar, I just couldn't get over how different my tone got. The sound on sound thing of the volante is also pretty great. My favorite delay for a while was the TC flashback X4 because of its awesome looper. And the Strymon reminds me of that in how I would use it. I actually tend to use my old Ibanez AD80 more than anything now, but if I'm doing some recording with two or more amps, the Strymon us awesome in that application.

    Very cool demo. But for me that's feature paralysis. “If you give somebody constraints, it's easier to be creative. 'The enemy of art is the absence of limitation." Orson Wells

    • @dudeseriously79
      @dudeseriously79 3 года назад

      I would agree but to me this is localized design. I would have feature paralysis with the Timeline, DD-500 or the DD-200 even. This has the sound that captivates me and it doesn't go off that spectrum imo, so it works for me. It's all in how you construct the framework of your music. I build structures so that helps to shape my way of approaching things. Just giving my 2 cents. Happy new year.

    Good Demo, but still can ´t see what people like about Strymon, this thing is even not close to the devise from it was inspired, same digital noisy sound of all Strymon stuff, really not for me.
    I prefer Pigtronix digital delays or Korg when it comes to deal with complicated things. at least they don ´t try to emulate and in the way they get a much better sound IMHO than this
