when i was in high school and still living with my parents i spent almost my entire paycheck on dolls. i didn’t have anything to spend my money on so all of it went towards dolls.
when i got closer to graduating i definitely slowed down before it become a problem when i moved out. that was also when i started getting more out of box dolls and gave up trying to get them in box.

i started collecting in 2014 when i moved from portugal to here canada to live with ym mom and step dad (i still live with em, at the time i was 18 and didnt have a job) so back then it was my mom who would buy me dolls i would get 1 maybe 2 i cant remember for my bday or xmas and sometimes mostly on sale or a few times reatail and it was mh and or eah dolls. we thrifted a lot too, after some years (maybe during covid) i started being into bratz and all the bratz i got were second hand from fb marketplace or groups or found at thrift store so ive gotten a lot of bratz and even mh like that for super cheap and that usually go for more. ( i wont pay more than 25 to 30cad with shippin included for a doll out of box that being mh/eah/bratz/rh, i usually try to combine shippin) im very happy with my bratz collection so rn im mainly focusing on mh which can be expensive bc of mattel creations thats where i spend more bc thats their retail price unfornately even tho im more selective with which mattel creations mh dolls i get, i dont get any of the skulletors unless i love the character/ design all the other skulletors i didnt get bc i just find em to be super overprices for what they are, but i do wish i had been collecting mattel creations dolls when hc and pennywise,gretta and dracula came out bc i like em and wouldve bought em but the reason i didnt back then was bc i didnt wanna spend over 100cad on a doll which i still dont like to do. i usually try to wait for prices to go down on amazon ca and or walmart if we have anythin good (plus ive employee discount) but it happens that sometimes ill pay full price like howliday clawdden and i think skelita and i think also stitchen in frankie (i thought idk they would sell out or that they would take forever to go down in price so i got em full price or close to full price and after a lil bit of time then went down in price and i thought about returning em ended up not bc i had never returned on amazon and plus was only 9cad price difference for each) but now they ve gone down even more in price and i couldve saved so much more, same thing happened with neon frights ghoulia amazon ca didnt have her( i had her preordered since oct 2023 she was 35cad but never shipped she was unnavilable) (our toysrus had her but not for long and then it was gone i couldnt find her )plus i dont have toysrus close to me and toysrus overprices their toys so i dont shop there,plus their website sucks. so when amazon ca had her for sale recently with third party seller i got her for a bit more than retail bc i didnt wanna miss out plus i knew that doll is suppose to be exclusive to usa idk in what store cant remember plus sometimes theres things we dont end up havin here in canada or it takes forever and then literally a few weeks after i got her she went down in price to like 33 or 37cad on amazon ca non third party seller - -. and appeared at my walmart) but theres times where i wont buy and wait and wait for it to be online and or on sale and then they sell out and or we never get em so then i miss out and im not about to pay scalper prices. i think outside of usa its harder bc not as many sales or much stock and some dolls dont even go there. but yeh i dont pay much for my dolls and acessories but i also dont mind not havin em 100% complete (even tho for mh and eah i lowkey wanna have them a bit more complete with their outfit shoes and acessories but i dont need brush/diary and maybe necklace/earings just the most importante stuff) (ive also gotten a lot of mh dolls/playsets for reallly cheap off vinted europe this last year m,y sis in portugal still has to ship em all to me, i never buy from fb marketplace/groups here in canada anymore bc shippin is expensive and prices too and just no luck anymore. its harder too trying to catch up to multiple doll lines too like mh g1 and g3 and eah and mh and disney ily ever dolls and mh mattel creations when they drop..

I totally understand this and I am glad you brought up the topic! Sometimes you pay more and sometimes less and it's honestly a game of patience because the dolls will eventually show up . I think if it's meant to be in your collection it will be. 💜💜💜

Thank you for making this! I'm only a year into collecting at the moment (young collector) and I have grown my collection a lot from going to flea markets mostly but there are definitely times I have spent big bucks on dolls online. I was a little worried in the future i'd have to give it up and put the dolls away or sell them. This feels very reassuring though.

So I'd be honest, in a way, i do, but in a way, I am not gonna go into too much detail about it. But thx to your video, I'll make sure to corect myself bc everything you said is true, like dolls are mass produced, there are like a thousand or more make of one model it will pop up eventually for an acceptable price 😊
