    What makes it real scary is that it’s at night and you can’t see it unless there’s lighting.

    I was in the next town over in Garland, TX, when this happened. Literally was like 5 miles away from me! RIP to the people who lost their lives that fateful night!🕊

    My husband and I were rushing home from Northpark Mall in Dallas as I was tracking the tornado on radar. I called My kids told them and the sitter to get into the steel shelter closet in the center of the house ASAP! Of Course I stayed on the phone with my kids & I could hear the tornado outside our house while talking to them on the phone. Our house was directly on Lake Ray Hubbard close to 66 & Scenic. Our neighborhood was ravaged, our home & street was spared. We were detoured redirected by first responders just trying to get us to our house. My kids had so many friends who lost their homes. Our kids had friends who stayed with us , while parents families navigated the aftermath. You guys actually recorded a tragic death on the Bush turnpike. It was big destructive deadly. And the day after Christmas. Geeze

    Luckily, we were not at home when this hit the RV park in Sunnyvale...everything was demolished. This is the first time I have seen this since it happened. We lost our 5th wheel and new truck, so thankful we were at our lake house in East Texas for Christmas.

    I remember how close I was to this one, and I'll never forget. BTW, I believe this happened Dec of 2015 not 2016. ❤

    It's not big, at most it is large, or better yet WIDE. It was 550 yards wide. The low cloud base is the reason for the wedge appearance because 550 yards wide is only 0.3-miles across.

      Where the heck did you get your info? You seem to contradict yourself... It's not big, at most it is large... What are you on about!?

      2 football fields wide isn’t large, big, or one of it synonyms? Wtf? lol Who cares what is in in terms of miles? When you start measuring things in terms of football fields, you’ve gotten wide, long, high, or whatever over dimension your measuring 😂

    I live in Mesquite and I remember this night so vividly. We used to have a cop as our neighbor and he came through and hit his sirens a couple times warning us about this. Probably one of the most terrifying nights of my life.

    I remember there being a big tornado that left a lot of people without homes when I was in middle or high school and I think it was this one.

    Take a shot every time they say "big".
    For professionals in a science-related field, these guys sure don't have much of a vocabulary.

    • @mattkowal90
      @mattkowal90 5 месяцев назад +2

      Te only reason it is "big" is due to the fact that they are in front of it and not looking at it from afar.
