Thanks for a great video, Seamus. The thing that surprised me was the amount of space in the sessions. I had avoided them in recent years as they were usually ram packed. I must give them a try again next year. Whitby Folk Week is always the last complete week in August. Whitby has an incredible history and the Synod of Whitby, some 13 centuries ago, decided whether England would follow the Celtic or Roman religious practices. In recent times two Irishmen have made their mark here. Bram Stoker is responsible for the hoards of goths in the town while Fr Keogh of St Hilda's church was a member of the "Chancy Brothers", a tribute act formed by local clergy.
