The problem with FEMA disaster declarations paying out is the biggest part of the formula the government uses is based on the whole dollar amount of damage. So, if a tornado completely destroys a sparsely populated rural area- they won't meet the dollar threshold.

I really like these stories showing how people survived. I always thought I’d be safe in my basement but these recent tornadoes are showing that isn’t enough.
I was so impressed how they decided to build that shelter after the 2021 tornado, just because they saw what happened in Dawson Springs…it was like a blender
"Protect and Serve" is nothing but an antiquated bumper sticker slogan. The Supreme Court even decided cops have no duty to save you. They are not our friends.
2021 tornado messed a lot of ppl n I'm sure they didn't know Abt survivors or how bad it really was this time. Our cops r good here they're patriots. First priority is to find survivors. Someone would of got those ppl, there's too many of us here not to . Least they didn't hault lookn for survivors so Andy brashears could do a photo op with commie in office like Dec of 2021. That made everyone especially the cops upset . We back the blue here they're our neighbors family n friends . Plz keep negative comments to yourself you wasn't here in it you dnt know how u would react until in one.
I thought I was jaded, but I still have room to be stunned that a taxpayer subsidized employee in a warm car & dry uniform facing 2 drenched survivors in shock can turn his warm backside away. He could have just driven them around in his warm, dry car. Wonder what he does at Christmas with that 'no room at the inn' part? As. a city bus driver, was in a widespread fire once, loaded up my bus along the neighborhood where I was stranded, & we just drove in circles picking up more people until an emergency shelter opened at a school. That's nothing heroic, it's common sense & being human--passengers helped me stay calm, and in a strange way? We had a real nice time. People shared snacks, water, stories. I almost feel sorry for that patrol officer. He's disconnected from his heart, common sense, & compass. Dang.
Ya protect and serve and let those people stand out in the rain and wind after they just rode out a tornado that left um without anything. Thanks for your service
This gentleman was so nice and caring that helped them out of the shelter. Thank you to him! I wish more people were like him. God bless this family that lost their house and all were were affected.
Second time in a month I have had officers refuse to offer space for people I have helped out of the rubble. In Barnsdall, OK, there was a child who was non-ambulatory and they refused to help. Glad the firefighters here stepped up and helped.

Thank you to the reporter that helped my parents and their little doggy, pickles. Thank you to the firefighter and a random guy who let them set in his truck till me and my husband got there to get them. It was chilly and that rain was cold. They was freezing while waiting. And FYI, my mom smelt the gas and knew not to lit her cigarette. She was just holding it. The storm shelter my dad built was all DIY. He built it piece by piece by himself. He saved him and my moms life that night! Without that shelter in the basement, i honestly believe they wouldn’t be alive right now.

@@freetheppl5376 In the chaos I didn't get their phone info, but if family reaches out I will definitely share the info!
The problem with FEMA disaster declarations paying out is the biggest part of the formula the government uses is based on the whole dollar amount of damage. So, if a tornado completely destroys a sparsely populated rural area- they won't meet the dollar threshold.
Everyone should have these shelters
You are much better than many reporters
I really appreciate that 🙏
Hearing them Praise the Lord and thanking God is wonderful to me...❤
You ever read the parts of scriptures in context they don't tell you to read. SDA here for 30 years and finally reading stuff that is absurdly shocking about Moses Soldiers and what they were condoned to own after killing off millions of babies breast feeding mothers is shockingly mad. apologist cant twist it but it said what it said directly meant and new is just as much.
God bless her….” My dog is ok and my husband’s ok”.
So sad for him and love the faith of this woman. God bless
The man says; "I smell gas, do you smell gas?" 'Woman with lit cigarette says; Yes I smell gas." This is gut-wrenching, so painful. Over 900 and counting tornados this season.
It has been a very destructive spring.
These killer cyclones just keep coming no end to it and hurricane season is supposed to be just as bad we need divine Intervention
She didn't light the cig till she moved away from the home. 😂
JESUS CHRIST IS RETURNING SOON GET BAPTIZED AND REPENT OF YOUR SINS. MATTHEW 24 END OF DAYS SIGNS TOLD TO THE DISCIPLES BY OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, WARS AND RUMORS OF WARS, EARTHQUAKES AND FLOODS AND EXTREME WEATHER ALL OVER THE WORLD, AND ARMIES SURROUNDING ISRAEL WHICH IS CURRENTLY HAPPENING, AND AMERICA TURNING IT'S BACK ON ISRAEL AFTER THE ECLIPSE THAT PUT AN X ACROSS AMERICA THIS LAST APRIL, .......WE ARE FUCKED AS A COUNTRY FOR TURNING ON GOD ALMIGHTY YAHWEH AND HIS PEOPLE ISRAEL.... THE WORST IS YET TO COME.....GOD HAVE MERCY ON THESE BLIND PEOPLE😢
Wow, over 900, crazy. Aw, what sweet guy helping this couple. I love the guy that built the shelter. I liked how you showed the shelter.
That wise man built his own in-house shelter and it kept him and the woman and the little dog alive. More people need to do the same thing.
The public officials were worthless in helping that couple. The police could have helped them. Were they going to leave them out in the rain outside their shredded home?
Yes. Literally. Glad the firefighters stepped up. This happens way too often. Check out my video from Barnsdall, Oklahoma, for more proof.
they just say bless you but far from blessed.
That was a powerfully well-built shelter-kudos to the metal worker!
Don’t you light that cigarette lady!!!!! All I could think when I seen it 😂
I am thankful her hands were full
I was thinking the same thing!! 😂
@@nancygirl2323 maybe they were blessed.🙄 now that their life is in total shambles is absurd.
Oh my Jonathon, this was so poignant, on the ground, people. That elderly man at the end💔...
He is such a nice man, and just turned 79 today 😢
Sir. Thank You for helping them
Absolutely, we all should look out for each other
You are an outstanding young man.
I really appreciate it, thank you
God bless you. You were so compassionate to those people.
Heartbreaking. Sending prayers. When you asked her if about the gas leak, she said “yal” she had that cigarette ready to light, you had to be thinking to yourself… 🙏 please don’t light it, please don’t light it. That was my first thought when I saw the cigarette. Bless her heart she was a nervous wreck, I know she was holding on to her fur baby.
I was glad she had her hands full with Pickles (the dog) so she couldn’t light up
Prayers for all affected
This couple’s survival story has motivated my family to invest into a storm pod. We didn’t even know these things were available within our budget. So many times while hunkering in our little cellar, my instincts were screaming “This isn’t safe enough”. We’ve looked at various options over the past few days. Looks like a stand alone “Storm Shed” is our best option. Thank you for everything you do and for getting this story to so many of us. ❤
That is awesome to hear! We all need to take personal lessons away from these events and prepare, just like this couple did with their homemade shelter. It’s why I focus on people stories so much in these storms and the aftermath.
Good job sharing your shelter. God bless y'all 🙏🏻
Absolutely
That baby crying 😭 God was with them. ♥️
But didn't "God" also just destroy their lives?
Thank you for helping! Those people needed it.
They did and I hope most people would do the same
Awww 😢 if he was my grandpa, he could come live with me and our family. He breaks my heart 💔
The stories of these people, it just breaks my heart. I cry so much with these stories-How can you heal from all of that trauma- God bless all of them.🙏🙏
Blessing for eons and nothing ever blessed for eons. God let destrction and still allows human suffering and death then hell after. Skepticals Smart people who know the scriptures in full context. strange why christians by most only know 10% of the inspired word. think they would want to know the entire book but don't stating God bless
You have such a kind and gentle demeanor. Im sure you lent a great deal of stability and help to folks in shock and sadness. God bless you and God bless these poor victims.
Edit to add that you did a great job respectfully advocating for those folks. Your gentleness was so much better than i think i could have been. A Philippians 4 interaction: your gentleness is evident to all.
That is very kind of you, thank you
NGL if I lived in Dawson Creek I'd want to move. What these people have been through I cannot imagine.
Understandable, but a lot of these folks are so intertwined with the community it’s hard to leave
@@JonathanPetramala yeah that makes sense.
I love the video of the guy showing off his shelter the next day...he was already busy cleaning up and had a trash bag in his hand! That's the spirit!
Having lived on the Gulf Coast over 20 years, I've been through several hurricanes. I learned that getting out there as soon as it's safe and start cleaning up brings on a spirit of survival and empowerment! It brings out a sense of community and bonding like nothing else.
I love that woman she just kept giving God the praise. It is a miracle they are all alive. Lord continue to be with them as their lives are rebuilt ..again.❤
She was so positive and very kind. Pleasure to meet her and her family.
I really like these stories showing how people survived. I always thought I’d be safe in my basement but these recent tornadoes are showing that isn’t enough.
I was so impressed how they decided to build that shelter after the 2021 tornado, just because they saw what happened in Dawson Springs…it was like a blender
So heartbreaking. What great attitudes. God bless them
Guys you are awesome. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you for helping those people and thanks to the firemen. God bless you all
You’re right, they really helped
Thank you for being so kind to that couple
They just needed a little hand, it’s hard to emerge into a chaotic world like they did
I just want to cry for all these people.
Just heartbreaking ❤ thank you for sharing your kindness🙏
Absolutely, we all have to look out for each other
That was pretty terrible that that officer wouldn’t help those people.
Name and badge number!!
"Protect and Serve" is nothing but an antiquated bumper sticker slogan. The Supreme Court even decided cops have no duty to save you. They are not our friends.
When I heard Mayfield got hit again I just felt so bad! God bless to everyone. I think more tornado shelters will be built.
That first cop should lose his job for not helping those 2 people. Shameful.
100 percent
2021 tornado messed a lot of ppl n I'm sure they didn't know Abt survivors or how bad it really was this time. Our cops r good here they're patriots. First priority is to find survivors. Someone would of got those ppl, there's too many of us here not to . Least they didn't hault lookn for survivors so Andy brashears could do a photo op with commie in office like Dec of 2021. That made everyone especially the cops upset . We back the blue here they're our neighbors family n friends . Plz keep negative comments to yourself you wasn't here in it you dnt know how u would react until in one.
Didn't want to get his car mats wet. Unbelievable.
That cop ain't worth a damn. Smh Really dude!
They are only there to Protect and Serve the "Public."
Public=Government
OMG……This is wild. Thank you for the life that was saved. Storm shelters are a must……The officer acted like a Boy Scout as if he owns the vehicle.
Wild world we live in where tax payers employees driving in tax payer cars just ignore the tax payer
This gentleman was so nice and caring that helped them out of the shelter. Thank you to him! I wish more people were like him. God bless this family that lost their house and all were were affected.
I believe we all need to try to have each others backs and do what we can, glad I could offer a little help
Oh wow the officer refusing to help. Not good. Makes him look bad. Imo
Second time in a month I have had officers refuse to offer space for people I have helped out of the rubble. In Barnsdall, OK, there was a child who was non-ambulatory and they refused to help. Glad the firefighters here stepped up and helped.
Regulations about safety I imagine, and he said he had to go somewhere else.
Cops don’t give a shit about the public most likely none of them live in that area.
@@JonathanPetramalayou need to report that, they getting paid with our taxes!
“ look” bad ??? It’s more than looks !
Shout out to you for advocating for those people!! Truly amazing

May God have Mercy on the survivers and keep them strong.
God bless these poor people!
Jonathan bless you for the help and support you gave that couple and their little dog!🙏🏼💕
Kindness and patience I feel goes a long way. Thank you
God bless you brother. It's so saddening for these people that got hit twice in 3 years. My heart breaks for them. Thank you for helping these people. 🙏
It is hard to believe. I was checking in on friends in the area that I met after the 2021 tornado. They had just moved into their new home this year…like many folks in Barnsley, and so I can imagine the PTSD reliving that night as this one was happening.
Kind man helping this couple.
Thank you
You are a nice man, Jonathan.
I appreciate that!
Thank You for what you did for that couple Sir. You are a Angel sent from Heaven to help those people. You were so thoughtful and sweet, caring to them. I Thank You for being a Loving and wonderful person!!! As for that other person who is supposed to be a "community servant", I have a whole different set of feelings. He's the type that make them all look bad. Thank the Lord above, not all police are like him!!!!
I appreciate that but it’s just simply looking out for others in a tough moment. Glad I was there
This dude help these people should have a raise were ever he works good for him
If I had an employer I would ask him ;)
I really appreciate the sentiment, and if you follow and share that helps me a lot. Thank you!
God. Bless. Kentucky❗🥺❗
Thanks for caring enough to help people along the way❤
Absolutely!
Wow!!!! Praying for all involved
Thanks for helping these poor people Jonathan this is amazing!
Absolutely, it wasn’t much but it was within my capabilities and I am glad I was there
These folks are truly on the receiving end of the bad side of mother nature. God bless to all of those involved...❤
I’m Australian I can’t understand how terrifying this was for everyone. God Bless them all. Thank you for helping others in need. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely, always have to have each others backs
Thank you to the reporter that helped my parents and their little doggy, pickles.
Thank you to the firefighter and a random guy who let them set in his truck till me and my husband got there to get them.
It was chilly and that rain was cold. They was freezing while waiting.
And FYI, my mom smelt the gas and knew not to lit her cigarette. She was just holding it.
The storm shelter my dad built was all DIY. He built it piece by piece by himself. He saved him and my moms life that night! Without that shelter in the basement, i honestly believe they wouldn’t be alive right now.
Hi! Please shoot me an email, petramalacc@gmail.com I would love to connect and see if there is any GoFundMe to help your folks with at least the basics! I am glad you found the video!

Wow God bless that couple. So happy they had that storm cellar made. What a good loving caring husband to build that for them ❤
It was super impressive how well it was built. Good for them for learning from history and doing something proactive!
