I loved Makanda... We discovered it just 1 week before the Vulture Fest 2014 (sadly, we couldn't stay for the following week due to work). Beautiful little Oasis that wraps it's arms around you. The residents make you feel at home. I think my favorite part of our visit was to a "Secret Garden" hidden behind one if the shops (sadly, I can't remember which one). You need to enter the garden from a back door of the business. Oh... and the ice cream parlor was fabulous, too. I long to go back one day. The shops are so unique and the folks in the 'town' couldn't be any friendlier!
