I love that they finally acknowledged Ayumi’s naginata skills in this game lmao
I definitely liked this a lot, rather than it being a whodunit mystery it’s more “Why is he here and how do we catch him.”
Those skills would be REAAAALLLL handy in a certain platform fighter... #AyumiForSmash
A character trait they added to Ayumi makes her Smash moveset super easy to imagine! And the characters are the best here out of all three of the Famicom Detective Club games!
She has SO MANY good options for a Final Smash!
I hope they continue with the Famicom Detective Club series and evolve the gameplay moving forward. It would be cool to explore some of the environments in a 3D first person-view to look for clues. Emio was just too good and it goes to show that Sakamoto is a master of suspense
Sakamoto killed it
Emio was a good evolution from the previous games and still they can do a lot more in the future.
This series really deserve to grow!
I was wondering if this video would still come after you mentioned it a ton during your playthrough.
I loved the game a ton, definitely my Switch game of the year. The epilogue in particular still sticks with me, what a crazy thing I'd never expect to see in a Nintendo game. I think more people need to play it.
The epilogue genuinely had my jaw on the floor. I'll definitely have a spoiler talk in an upcoming stream!
This is one of the greatest games of the year, and one of the best visual novels ever made!
You’re doing a great disservice if you don’t play it. Love everything about Emio, especially the ending!
Thanks for the video Roger
I dressed up as Emio for Halloween. Yesterday, I helped my friend with his open haunted house he does for trick or treaters for Halloween. I scared more than 200 people that saw me in my Emio costume.
OH MY GOD YES, IT'S FINALLY HERE!! I have patiently been waiting ever since your first emio steam, this game truly is something special...
I'm glad I could finally deliver!!
Noworrie! Ayumi Tachibana is on case to find emio!
I love visual novel/adventure titles so Ive been super excited to play emio the smiling man whenever I get a chance!! Thanks for the review Roger!
Thank YOU for watching! I can safely say it's the BEST visual novel I've played all eyar so i know you'll enjoy it!
Emio is the kind of game, by the time you finish it, you will be surprised this is a First Party Nintendo Game.
You reminded me that I still need to play the very first 2 games that Nintendo Remastered/Remade a long time ago.
You don't need to play them to enjoy Emio but playing them will definitely make this a richer experience!
@@RogersBase I know I watched the video you already mentioned it there but thanks for the reminder. I would however still play the first 2 because I already bought them and own them, they are sitting there and wait to be played if I like what I see I will definitely grab myself Emio but I think I will enjoy them because I am a huge Ace Attorney fan.
@@Official_RetroMania Just keep in mind that even on the off-chance you don't like the first two, there's many small improvements in Emio that make it better to play.
@@Official_RetroMania Oh yeah if you dig Ace Attorney, this'll be RIGHT UP your alley.
I agree Emio is one of the best stories Nintendo has ever put out. Love the first 2 FDC games, but Emio's story is on a whole other level. Honestly, if Emio is not even nominated for Best Narrative during the Game Awards that would be a huge snub.
Awesome videos!
Also I like the fact you included NSO Famicom Controllers!
I managed to pick them up when I was in Japan (which is actually where I filmed the Emio segments) so I HAD to include them!
I'm going to start this series when I finish Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
You won't regret it!
I have never played a visual novel and I also don’t like horror. For some reason this game caught my attention though, and I do love anime. I tried out the demo and loved it so I ended up getting the game and finishing it. I really enjoyed the mystery and dynamic. It was a great game to come home from work to play and unwind. I hope others also give it a shot! I will have to look into the other famicon games now 👀
I was already hella interested, but now I'm convinced to play this series
A wonderful video/review of a wonderful game 🔥
Thank you!!
Fantastic video Roger! Absolutely loved this game. I hope everyone gives this masterpiece a try.
No spoilers but I keep thinking about that ending. It's occupied my mind.
That entire ending SEGMENT is gonna stick with me for a LONG TIME. I had to keep this one spoiler-free but I'm defintiely going to talk about it more once more people have had the chance to play it!
@RogersBase Definitely! I would love to see a spoiler discussion after more people have played it. I feel like the success of this franchise will be down to word of mouth. Keep up the great content, Roger!
@@adambowser5783 I will continue to spread the gospel of the FDC games!
Thanks for the kind words!
Amazing Video! Keep up the good work my friend. 🥰
Super review - love this series. Although I think The Girl Who Stands Behind is still my favourite.
Hey, thanks for watching! Absolutely love your videos!
Big narrative visual novel type games always seem to be underrated. Quite alot of the best stories out there are found in those games, by they always never make it out of being just a niche unfortunately. Seems like Emio will be the same. Hopefully it will at least stick around as a classic within that niche, like those really good ones do usually end up doing.
RogerBase, I played Emio The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club and enjoyed the story and the characters in game.
I'm glad you did!
Thank you @@RogersBase! What was your favorite part in Emio The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club?
@@AlexTheSuperNintendoGamer Honestly it might seem like an obvious answer but the narrative!
I enjoyed your video on Emio @@RogersBase. Emio was my first M rated game I ever played.
@@AlexTheSuperNintendoGamer It's one of the tamest M rated games so it's a good place to start!
So it's finally here! For members at least.
But soon Roger will release this beast.
For the general public, don't take a nap....
Cause I just started this Emio rap!
HUH!
I SMOOCHIE OBI SO MUCH
LOLOLOLOL I SMOOCHIE OBI TOO
At last! The Emio video is out! And just in time for Halloween too!
Happy Halloween!
I was thrilled with this game from start to finish and the end it just left me speechless.
This Game was so awesome. So glad that Nintendo made a demo for it. Because without it, I doubt I would have give it a try.
And of course #AyumiforSmash
There was a plan to make her playable in Melee, but sadly Sakurai dropped it, because no one knew her outside of Japan back then.
Hopefully he will fix this in the next game.
So glad visual novel games are absolutely nailing it!
I tootru pookie Emio game! Gasp-P! I smidgie blanko say "noworrie". Noworrie! No-P need Giftee me! I mingile it already. Thank-Q anyway! Bye-Q!
I am one of at least three people that think this game is fucking terrible actually.
I liked it, but didn't love it. Some plot twists are ok.
