- Here political stability has returned but France faces the opposite.
Polls close in less than an hour. Turnout has been high. The result is either the first populist right wing government since World War Two or the chaos of a hung parliament.
Marine Le Pen's far-right National Rally came out top in the first round a week ago. But it may well fall short of a majority - after President Macron's centrist Together alliance and the left-wing New Popular Front coalition withdrew more than 200 candidates from three-way races to unite against the far right.

I've been following the French politics very closely for years now and this is going to be a rude awakening. Media decided the outcome again.
It's not the media, genius, it's basic politics. Left-wingers preferred centrists over right-wingers. Centrists preferred left-wingers over right-wingers. These first two groups are larger than the third. Do the math.
They keep saying the far left won but I just look at the map of seats and it seems to me it's almost a 3 way tie.
Well...yeah but if you look at the actual numbers you will see that the far left has a higher number of projected seats than both ensemble and national rally, and therefore have won, albeit not by much.
That's what it looked like last week, yet the Right was crowing about "speaking for France" anyway! Why is that energy so different now?
The Popular Front do better in Urban areas as they have support from the working class (because it contains socialists and communists).

Truth is that millions of ordinary Europeans are sick of mass immigration. I’ll give you a recent personal example: I was on holiday in Provence recently. I visited the gorgeous old perfume town of Grasse. Every single resident I saw was an Arab. It felt like Tangiers or Algiers. It certainly didn’t feel like France. If I want to visit an Arab town I go to Africa or Asia; Europe shouldn’t be creating whole towns of non-Europeans. No other continent does this stuff to this degree.
The French did not disappoint me this time either. A group of people with advanced consciousness fair always better than collectivists' countries like Germany evey time.

Trying to interpret what is happening in France in terms of left-centre-right is no longer helpful. It now comes down to whether people have a government that represents them or not. Voters are not divided on left or right but on do they trust government or not.
