In this video we are going to demonstrate how you can get started with the flipper zero and how you can flash custom firmware to your flipper zero like Rogue Master and Unleashed. In the first part, we will also demonstrate how you can use the NFC module to read data from different items and also show you how you can run various bad USB scripts for penetration testing purposes. In the second part, we will show you how you can flash Rogue Master to your device and show you can unlock the sub ghz option so it is not restricted. This took a while to record with lots of issues along the way, I hope you enjoy this full run through and I look forward to bringing you a second video soon using the Unleashed firmware.

Where do I find the setting and analyzer files
I actually needed to include the resources.tar file at 11:57 and not use the extracted directory for the update to work properly. It took 5 mins to update but it did update :) Thank you!
Yeah, I had a few issues the first time around with this, I found it worked both ways, glad it worked for you

Great video. Had to watch a few times because I kept thinking I was missing something: Actual install tutorial starts around 10:15.
Def INCLUDE the resources.tar file!!! Or you will get error 13-0. I had to unmount and plug in my 32Gb SD card to my computer...dragging and dropping to qFlipper was saying file was too big (even though I had enough room).
I recommend "backing up" your flipper before doing this - from the main/info screen of qFlipper. As of today (10/9/22) your SD card folder contents may look a little different...I did delete Apps per the Github page recommendation, but I don't think I needed to do that. A Restore of my backup didn't bring back the Apps folder so I reinstalled the regular/updated firmware. Pull up the Phone App and be sure to update from there...I updated back to the regular green stable version. Although I did it from qFlipper also/first, the app had me do it and I understand there's a different methodology between the two. When he is in the Dolphin screen and goes to the browser, don't worry if yours has something other than Bad USB in the cute header. Need to make it to the BROWSER, not the bad usb menu, here. ACTUALLY, from the dolphin screen, press down and left. Find the update folder with the Thicc line!!! uggh after almost 2 hrs, what should have taken 7 min...worked! But yeah, the last step for Updating on the Flipper Zero did take like 5 min, but finally pushed through. Good Luck!

just a fyi, you dont have to take out the SD card, when youre in the browser view, you can create a new folder and upload directly in the app

I had the same problem when I was searching for RogueMaster in Github. Strangely if you search on google you will find the correct link.
if we dont upload the sub ghz file the region stays block right? and the rougue firmware still works?
at 5:15 for a split second you can make out the UID info from the card you read. idk if its that serious as idek what a UID is lmao but just thought you should know in case its important.
Thanks Moe, it wasn’t important in this case since it was a bank card that had expired, if it had been a current bank card that could be an issue, appreciate you spotting that 😊, this is why I didn’t worry about editing it again
@@steamlabstech aye okay cool I'm glad. While I have you can I ask, I downloaded the rm zip from GitHub but after extracting it, the resource folder was . Tar so it extracted fine but the other files are . Bin and my Mac ( os Monterey) won't unzip it, even with archive utility. Says its an unsupported file type.They're still zipped. Anyway to fix that ?
Do check out my new video on unleashed as I do point out an error of mine in this video, when you have downloaded the zip file, you don’t need to unzip the resources file, you can simply copy all files onto your SD then go through the setup, you don’t need to unzip resources in the latest version of RM.
To confirm, once you unzip the downloaded file, just copy these across to your SD

Yea I actually save the name of each firmware as a folder so I can load up a new firmware on the go since some firmwares are useful at times more than others

My biggest confusion on all of these is when I download RougeMaster file the files don't match what you have at all. Its a lot of files like assets and there is no resources zip file. Could I be downloading the wrong file?

Ive installed it but i cant used projectors and audio and anything else because it says it requires a fresh data base on sd card?
Did you update your flipper before installing the .dfu file? Have you copied over all files to the SD? You shouldn't be seeing that problem, that tells me a file is missing.
if you unzip and delete the zip file "resources" you get error 13-0 . Leave the zip file in the directory
where is the link to the frequency files?
Can you have Rogue Master and Unleashed installed at the same time? Which software is better?
You can have both installed(that I know of), but there is someone out there who is looking at merging both. I prefer unleashed if I am honest, but both are great

Yes, these should be replaced.
@@steamlabstech man im so lost lol. i followed the instructions and i keep getting please configure map. the files look a lil different now but i followed the instructions on there as well....
I started from the beginning again like the stuff in sub ghz remote. Most of it says please configure map
I re-flashed my SD card last night to see if I am having the same issue as you and I do not have configure map displaying as an error, was your flash successful? I doubt it is the SD card that is the issue, but you could try a new SD to be sure.

This probably depends on what you are trying to do, you will probably make that decision for yourself if you try both and use both
RM is the only one that did anything for me much better

Nothing that you need to do, have a look at the link to Pingywon in the description, website takes a while to load but all info is in there, there are a couple of ways to do it, let me know if you can’t unlock it for any reason

I kept getting this error when only including the extracted resources directory. Copy over the resources.tar and you'll be all set.

That's what I was wondering.
I'm having trouble flashing the latest roguemaster firmware.
It's a TGZ file and I'm trying to just install from file however I keep getting an error message.
Plzzzz do this with a Mac book
This works with a MacBook, steps are the same, my Mac picks up the device in the same way, make sure you are using the USB-A-C provided and have Qflipper setup, steps are the same otherwise
