I've never heard this before... Just different enough to be entertaining. I prefer the original, but this is a very interesting interpretation of the song.
Very few artists could do a cover and put their own stamp on it like Ms. Napolitano. Everybody Knows is actually better than the original, IMO. I like how she just went straight into the chorus in a melodic fashion as opposed to the drum crashes in the original.

They opened with this when I saw them on what was probably their final tour in 2012 or 2013. Decked out in florescent facepaint, they set a super-high bar that the rest of that show absolutely nailed. I'd seen them back in 1993, too, but they were far better on that last tour.

What kept it alive? Nirvana, Cosmic Thing -B52s Rockin in the Free World..Niel Young. And especially Concrete B. or I was awfully ignorant till 1989! I'm only familiar with their first 2 albums.

True, but it says steam in 45 degrees at the start. Being from the Southern hemisphere, I'm sure that's a temperature reference in Celsius. Their lyrical reworking isn't the best.

Personally, I like it. They tried to do something different and for me it works. I get that not everyone will agree, but then, you can always go back and listern to the original.

I agree, there version of Everybody Knows is so full of restrained emotion, she makes you feel like she has lived every word she sings.
